Monte Cristo at Disney World??

There are certain things that make DL so special and that sandwhich is one of them :)

No Monte Cristo at WDW according to the fantastic DIS menu search feature.

Chefs De France in the France Pavilion in Epcot has an item on their lunch menu called Croque monsieur et sa salade verte which means in English, the classic French Toasted Ham and Cheese Sandwich served with a green salad (per allears.net menu). I have had this sandwich every time we eat there for lunch and I really enjoy it. If you are looking for a Monte Cristo type sandwich, I would definitely go there and have one :goodvibes.

GOod to know...I might try that. I am already planning to try Chefs de France

Disneyland in Cali has the most amazing Monte Cristo sandwiches...anyone know if they can be found anywhere in WDW??

In 1985,I had a Monte Cristo sandwich at the Magic Kingdom at the Town Square Cafe - now Tony's. It was delicious. I was sad to see it was taken off the menu after my trip down there. I have an old cookbook from my trip back then and it has the recipe for Monte Cristo sandwich in it.

The sandwhich does not come close to the Monte Cristo! I had hoped that too. It is still a fun place to go.

I remember that !!! And you're right- it was delicious. Those were the good ol' days. :)

The Croque Monsieur sandwich is toasted, not deep fried - they are similar in ingredients, but very different in preparation, so don't expect it to be too much like a Monte Cristo.

The Monte at DLR is a tasty sammich! Since Disney likes to make everything homogenized, how about they serve that Monte at WDW? :earsboy:

We like the MC at DL too but it costs about sixty bucks, doesn't it?:lmao:

I had the same type of sandwich at the same restaurant in the Magic Kingdom back in the 1980s and it was WONDERFUL. Why don't they bring it back? I know it has a loyal following!

I think Columbia Harbour House used to sell Monte Cristo Sandwiches years ago.

I wish I could find one somewhere, too!

First time I ever had a monte cristo sandwich was at the Columbia Harbour House. Then is was gone. I've had it since but not at disney.

My first time was at Pinochios's sitting next to the Window watching boats sail by in its A Small World. I really wish Disney Would bring that back, the sandwich that is.

I know that's the first meal I will have whenever I go back to Disneyland! But since we live on the east coast now, I will probably be doing more Disney World than Disneyland.
