Have there ever been any rumors of a Monster's Inc. ride/show? This has replaced Toy Story 2 as my son's favorite dvd. Has it been successfull enough to warrant an attraction like the other Pixar movies? Just wondering.

I'd love to see a Monsters, Inc. ride utilizing the "door" theme. It has become one of my all-time favorite Disney movies too. :D

I've always thought ever since I first saw the movie that the "door factory" would make a great inverted coaster ride. Of course, that leave the little kids out, so they probably should do a family ride, not a thrill ride.

With a little thought and a little monetary investment, they could do BOTH very well.

Imagine Monsters Inc., (the actual factory). You could walk into that big common hall (the one with the globe mural) and have two rides within. One that just tours the factory, (The scare floor, the locker rooms, the training room, etc., etc.) like a dark ride. And then, you could have the inverted coaster/door ride.

It could be pulled off as one huge attraction that would satisy both families as well as thrill seekers.

Snacky - that is an incredible idea! I would even stand in line twice to do both sides...

I really don't understand why Disney don't do more with their new characters/movies in the parks. They have a captive audience and a perfect opportunity for promotion yet don't seem to maximize this potential.

Monsters Inc is a perfect example of this. My kids loved Monsters Inc, yet the only time they saw anything related to MI was in the Stars and Motor Cars parade. Surely it can't take much to knock up a faux Monsters Inc officebuilding for character meet n greets? How about a character meal? I agree that the door part at the end really lends itself to some sort of ride.

Lilo and Stitch are another example- other than the parade, where are they?.

I guess they need to know that characters/movies are going to become classics before they invest the time and money needed to make a feature of them.

At one point I think I read (probably from Jim Hill) that WDI was considering a re-do of Journey into your Imagiination to feature more Figment, and thought about including him as one of the MI crew in a MI Themed Journey into your Imagination....

Remeber that it takes a long time to build a ride or attraction, and that Disney is pretty gun shy about anything 'new' at the moment. The Company's projections regarding what will sell & what won't haven't been very good lately, ie. the last 5 or 6 years...

They did put a Monsters, Inc. show into DCA and likewise just put in a whole "Bug's Life" area (which I know doesn't help those of you in FL). There was talk of using Milo & Kira for a re-vamped Sub Ride, but Atlantis tanked. There are current rumors of using Stitch to re-vitalize & re-characterize Alien Encounter, but that will take a couple of years.

Hope this helps.

There is a meet'n'greet that usually has sully and sometimes mike. I haven't seen it on the times guide yet and its not easy to find. Its at MGM across from the abc commisary resturant. When there is no characters its just a garage door with the MI logo and when there is one that door comes up and characters are inside.

Its easily missed if you aren't looking for it.
