Monsters Inc Laugh Floor-how do they pick?

My dad was chosen one year, we went during MNSSHP and he was dressed as Mark Twain.
I wish I remembered what was said. It was funny though because dad is very quiet and unassuming, but he stood up and showed off a bit. We enjoyed that.
My son's joke was also used during that show and at a different show I was up on the big screen. Don't remember what was said then either.
Fun show, we enjoy it.

LOL was picked as That Guy in fall of 2008...kept the sticker for scrapbook...and since they handed me a couple extra I gave one to my brother Rick and his son who were also on the trip with us.

We didn't get to see this last year. Are they making fun of you and that's why most people don't want to get picked? Just curious!

It's more that they put your image up on the big screen in front of everyone.

So if you are shy and don't like attention, then it could be tough.

The humor is really good natured, it's not insulting at all.

My poor DH, (who I think is quite normal looking btw) was picked to be THAT GUY a couple of years ago, and still to this day won't set foot in there!:scared1:

Can I just say that this show is a lot of fun and, really, the odds are against you being picked. I am very shy and I survived my picture being on the screen! I mean, you'll never see these people again, right?

And anyway, the show is so good-natured that you really want to go along with all the gags. It's not highbrow humor, that's for sure.

How do you make a Kleenex dance? Put a little boogie in it!

We hear that one EVERY time we go..... :rotfl:

My hubby and I and my son have all been picked on 3 different occasions. I agree with them looking for people who "really might not want to be shown" and looking for "sparkling personalities". The three of us love the show and are usually visibly/audibly excited about it starting even when we are waiting to enter the theater. Someone is definately keeping an eye/ear to the crowd, in my opinion!:yay: Looooooove WDW!!

I was picked for the mind reading part. My son wanted to be picked for SOMETHING that trip and had no luck at all (until we got dream FPs on our last day!) I was looking over watching him enjoy the show. When I looked back at the screen, there I was! Yikes! I had seen the show once before though, so I know what was going to happen. I had on a bright orange colored shirt, so maybe that was why they picked me out. It was harmless fun!

Being picked just means you're on the big screen for everyone to see and are the "butt" of some of the jokes. They show various people with funny quotes on the screen before the show starts. Then during the show they will go back to one of those people repeatedly and crack good-natured jokes at that person's expense. It's all harmless & in good fun.

My DH was the "butt" of the jokes who got repeatedly shown on the screen on one visit. We had seen the show before, but our girls begged to do it again. So, we went and sat down. The show starts and the characters on screen say, "Yeah, like this guy!" AND all of a sudden I realize there is this bright light overhead shining down....I thought, "please, don't let me look up at that screen and see me..." I looked up and it was DH!:rotfl: I'd never been so thankful.

As we left the show, some little boys were pointing to my DH, whispering, "Look, there's the man from the show!" :lmao:

This is just not true. I was "picked" in October and had to do A LOT! I answered questions. Had to use my fingers as antennas and make "alien" noises. I had to guess numbers. I was NOT shown at the beginningof the show and I was the last person on the screen, except "that guy". Though it was great, it wasn't just being on the screen and being the butt of jokes!

It is sooo not my thing, but my husband and bro-in-law said I was great and cracked everybody up. I don't really remember much because I was having a panic attack! It was fun though.

BTW. I was in front of a lamp and near the center aisle.
