I know the monorails got to a few resorts and to Epcot, but how many are there?

There are actually THREE monorail routes (with multiple trains running on each route).

On each route, the trains will "loop" around and around on their own unique track.

1) "Epcot Monorail" TTC > Epcot > TTC > (loop runs clockwise)
2) "MK Express Monorail" TTC > MK > TTC > (loop runs counter-clockwise)
3) "Resort Monorail" TTC > Poly > Grand Floridian > MK > Contemp. > TTC > (loop runs clockwise)

As you can see, you can transfer from or to any monorail at the TTC (which is also the MK parking lot).

You may ride any and all of these, if you like.
They do not "let you out" INSIDE any theme-park, so you don't need a ticket.

There are 12 monorail trains at WDW,
each with a unique paint-stripe to distinguish them.

Red
Coral
Orange
Pink
Gold
Yellow
Lime
Green
Blue
Purple
Silver
Black

We've stayed a monorail resort and LOVE IT!!! We are so spoiled now! It was great, hardly any wait at all to get to MK and so easy to go the resort mid-day for a nap, swim or mid-day shower until nightime festivities!

I've been a monorail fan since I was a kid in the early 80's, here are pictures I threw together from last March...I got pics of all but 1...

I guess I'm missing orange?

What is coral?

I have pics of a pink and pink/white stripe...I don't see that on the stripe listed on the previous list.

i answered this on the other thread, but Coral is the one with the white in the middle of the strip on each car (lime also has them).

did there used to be a black monorail with a red stripe, or am I just imagining things?

Yeah, that is black. The others have black borders around the stripe, so black uses red.

I meant that the entire monorail was black instead of white, and had a red stripe. I vaguely remember this from my childhood (early '90s), but I could be completely wrong.

Do certain colors only do certain routes and if so, which does which?

Maybe this is what you saw-

I see them everywhere... at NIGHT!

We love the monorails. My brother drives the monorail, so we always make a point to stop and let him "drive us" around for a bit. :)
