Monorails Down

Couldn't have been for long as we went from CR to GF and back again around that time and then sat in Contempo Cafe watching them drive by. Maybe just a problem on and offloading a passenger in wheelchair or scooter.

It was about an hour. So more than just a problem on and offloading a passenger in wheelchair or scooter. It was both the Resort and Express MK monorail loop.

We have been seeing more and more issues with the monorails. They are getting old and the need for more and more maintainance is growing! I feel badly for those that stay at the MK resorts so that they can use the monorail to get to both MK and Epcot. The monorail is not to be counted on to get you to your destination in a timely manner anymore!

Three weeks ago we were there and frequently CM had blocked the gates to the monorail, i saw it stuck up above he parking lot. It's just easier to take the Ferry in and out. I only used it (monorail) once from GF to MK our first day.

It was just easier and better bet to take the Ferry.

I laughed when I saw a Modern Marvels episode about WDW over the weekend. It was done in 2005. There was an interview with a higher-up in the monorail maintenance department. He claimed that the monorail was operational 99.9% of the time, with a downgrade to 99.8% of the time in the busiest times. I'd be willing to bet those percentages have dropped off a bit since 2005.
