I am usually not a fan of staying on monorail anymore than i have to. :( But I am in charge of planning a trip for a big family get together. We will not being going to parks the saturday we get there so I know you can use the monorail if you have a hopper. Now questions.... can we take the monorail just to show them around the parks even though we haven't used hoppers yet? I f we can then how do we do it... I mean which monorail do we take and when do we switch to take a complete lap? Should know this but like I said I only use it to Magic kingdom usually. The only reason i use it then is because I am more scared of boats!

thanks

The monorail only goes to Magic Kingdom and then there is a seperate one you can take from MK to Epcot. Also they go to Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Polinesian. But the monorails don't run to AK or MGM.

You don't need tickets to use the monorail-just catch it at MK, Contemp, transportation center, Poly or GF. If you want to switch to the mono-rail to go to Epcot, you get off at the transportation center and catch it there.

Riding the 'rails are free- except if you are driving your car in youll have to pay the parking toll-

There are 3 seperate monorail lines- Express Roundtrip from TTC to MK, Resort Loop with stops at the Floridian, Poly and Contemp and the TTC/MK stops (these two loops are side by side) and the Epcot Loop from TTC to Epcot-

All of these do a roundtrip just stay on after the stop(s) and you can ride for hours if you care too-

Id park at the MK and then loop from there- Definetly do the Epcot loop as going from the TTC to Epcot you go through Epcot which is fun

Maybe arrange to do a dinner at one of the resorts as part of the experiance

:upsidedow I knew the monorail didn't go to mgm and animal kingdom just lost my thought for a minute. I will have little tots for the first time and wanted them to see castle and such to help them get that they are in Disney. Don't plan on doing the MK until a few days in since want the other parks to be fun and not let down.

:boat: now for a question about the boats.... would you recommend taking kids on them like the one that takes you around lagoon in epcot? Don't know whether kids would like it or not.

thanks

Sure - boat rides are fun and relaxing. Especially in EPCOT, its nice to walk partway through World Showcase and ride back on the boat. The ferry from TTC to MK is also a nice ride. There are also boats to some of the resorts from the parks.

Another fun thing if you have the time is to rent a boat. You can rent a Water Mouse for 30 minutes or more. They seat 2. Or if there are a bunch of you, you can rent a pontoon boat, bring a picnic lunch and spend a leisurely time on the water. Lots of great water things to do at Disney.

A fun thing to do might be to take your monorail ride and get off at the Magic Kingdom entrance. Walk down the monorail exit and bear to the right, towards the resort boat dock. I'd suggest taking the Fort Wilderness boat. You can plan some time there to visit the petting zoo, pony rides or a great buffet at the Trailside. They are all just a short walk from the dock. Buses are available for your ride back, or you can hop back on the boat.

Tammi,

I like that idea about the boat ride to the Ft. Wilderness (something different for all of us). I have a hoop de doo dinner and a campfire sing-a-long planned for FW.

Do you happen to know how often or what times the resort ferries leave from MK?

Or does the ferries go to every resort, say for instance the Poly?. We're staying at SoG.

I'm so excited about all the fun ways we're traveling at Disney!

Thanks:wave2:

Is the fort wilderness petting zoo just for resort guest? This sounds like a good way to start with the little ones. How long is the boat ride to the wilderness?

LOve to do something that would make my inlaws think I know what I am doing planning this trip!;)

Dont forget downtown Disney you can go there to. Go play Putt Putt Golf it cost though.

The Petting Zoo is free to ALL WDW Resort Guests!

Take lots of quarters for the animal feed vending machines.

The boat ride takes 15 minutes @ most and is very scenic.

Camp Fire starts @ 7 PM

Have fun!

RIP "Minnie Moo"
