Hi everyone
we are staying at AllStar Music on Sat Jan 10, no park that day, we want to ride the monorail, explore the resorts and wind up at WL for the sing along and movie

where do we get on the monorail for a full ride around the parks? and how would we get to WL from the monorail?

thanks

There are only three different monorail routes and only the MK and Epcot are accessible by monorail.

Two of the three monorails serve the Magic Kingdom only. One is an express run from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to the MK. The resort monorail also serves the MK and the TTC, but makes stops at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary hotels.

The other monorail runs from Epcot to the TTC.

From ASM, you could take a bus to the MK and then spend some time visiting the three resorts. After that, you could hop off at the TTC and make the switch to the Epcot monorail. I think it makes a loop through part of the park on the way from the TTC to Epcot, which might be interesting. The stop itself is outside of the park, however.

You can get to WL by bus from either Epcot or the MK.

You can get a boat to WL from the MK. You will have to go to the TCC (from the MK) to get a bus to the WL.

Excellent point and the boat is more fun than the bus. Is it true that there's no bus service to WL from the MK, however? Does that apply even after the boats stop running, which, I believe, is earlier than bus service stops?

If you're not confused yet, here is what I would do to take a tour of the monorail and resorts without having to double back or retrace steps.
1. Take the bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom.
2. Get on the resort monorail.
3. The first stop is the Contemporary Resort, STAY ON THE MONORAIL- save the Contemporary for last, you'll see why in a minute.
4. The next stop is the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC). Get off the Resort monorail, switch to the Epcot monorail.
5. Ride the monorail to Epcot and see the sights along the way. Once the monorail arrives at Epcot, if you want to enter the park, get off the monorail for a while, otherwise stay on board, and it will take you back to the TTC.
6. Get off the Epcot monorail at the TTC. Transfer back to the Resort monorail.
7. The next stop is the Polynesian Resort. Get off the monorail there and see the resort.
8. Get back on the resort monorail.
9. The next stop is the Grand Floridian Resort. Get off the monorail and see the resort.
10. Get back on the resort monorail.
11. The next stop is the Magic Kingdom. Unless you want to get off and enter the park for a while, stay on the monorail.
12. The next stop is the Contemporary Resort. Get off the monorail here and see the resort.
13. Exit the resort to the pool area and marina. Get on board the boat to the Wildnerness Lodge.
14. See and do the things you want to do at the Wildnerness Lodge.
15. When it comes time to go back to your resort, the easiest way would probably be to take a bus from Wildnerness Lodge to either Downtown Disney or one of the theme parks that are still open, and then switching to the bus that goes to your resort from there. If the Magic Kingdom is still open at that time, it might also be possible to take the boat from the Wildnerness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom (different boat than the Contemporary-Wildnerness Lodge boat), and then get back on your resort bus from there.

See? 15 easy steps for a resort/monorail tour!

 I think I will have to cut n paste this one. I have never visited the resorts. Been around on the rail though. This will be the trip we visit them all. Thanks for the info!
oops, forgot I was logged on under my DS.:wave2:

The campfire sing along and movie is at Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge. They are two very different places.

FW is accessible by boat from the MK or by bus from the TTC.

Good catch GoldenOldie.

When I saw WL, I stopped reading:o

Anyway, freediverdude's 15 point touring plan still works because the boat you would take from the Contemporary goes to both WL and FW.

FYI, you will need to take an internal FW bus to get to the campfire and movie.
