monorail resorts.... many thoughts

We will be staying at both the Poly and BLT on our next trip and cannot wait to be staying on the monorail line the entire time . We had stayed at CR once before in a BL View and we absolutely loved it. It was so peaceful and quiet and the sounds of the boats coming and going to the dock was cool to watch. Like others have said we loved walking to and from MK, it was such an easy walk. As far as going to Epcot is concerned, I didn't think it was too hard to do, it beat taking the bus everywhere we went. While we are at the Poly, we do plan on walking back from the TTC to our resort which is a nice bonus there. I hope the rest of your trip is magical, and if you want to try out a different monorail resort, I would suggest staying at the Poly next time .

My kids have always wanted to stay at the CR and we stayed for 2 nights after our cruise on the Fantasy a couple weeks ago. Never again! It is like staying at a stale, cookie cutter Hilton or any other chain hotel that happens to have a monorail running through it which after about 1 ride loses it's charm fast. Getting an elevator during any Chef Mickey operating time is impossible because they are constantly being used by people going to Chef Mickeys. The rooms are LOUD! The whole place smells like syrup or french fries. The pool is b-o-r-i-n-g!!!!

All three kids agreed that once was enough but they'd rather stay anywhere else!

The next time we go to Disney, we're staying at the Poly. I've never stayed there before and it's always been one of the resorts I've meant to get to.

That is, unless more of my family goes, then we'll be at the Art of Animation. Which I guess wouldn't be bad either.

The first rule of staying at CR is to walk to and from MK as much as your aching feet will allow. The second rule is to always walk to MK and if you need to ride the monorail, ride it back from MK because CR is the first stop!

This is exactly what we do when we stay at BLT!!

I would choose the Poly or GF (that is my first choice) We have stayed at all of them and CR was our least favorite. As a pp said I felt like I could have been at any other hotel chain - the room was nothing special. The Poly was nice but on the dark side for us. We love the GF. That being said, we have been staying at the Epcot resorts for many years now and love this area the most. We are returning in just over a week for our second trip this year and we are staying at the BC. We have stayed numerouse times at the BW and this past trip at the YC for the first time and we would be hard pressed to find one we don't like. It the monorail is what you want I would go with GF or Poly.
