We have always wanted to stay on a monorail resort for years....

Well we are right now, the CR.... nice hotel, but not the best...

The monorail is the best mode of transportation.... the epcot journey is not so easy.... you have to change over at the ttc... MK is longer than walking.

Its nice don't get me wrong, but it's not want I thought It was going to be...

I'm not sure I will stay on a monorail resort next time.

The first rule of staying at CR is to walk to and from MK as much as your aching feet will allow. The second rule is to always walk to MK and if you need to ride the monorail, ride it back from MK because CR is the first stop!

This! That is how we roll also. LOVE LOVE LOVE the CR! Love the rooms, love the view, love the location, love the restaurants and amenities, and love the transportation. Both times we stayed there, CR was the first stop on the buses when returning from HS and AK...loved that, too! Especially late at night when coming back from HS.

Great things about CR:
1 Great restaurant options
2 Watch Wishes without having to suffer through the cattle herding that takes place when everyone is leaving MK
3. Great dining options at the other monorail resorts
4. You can walk to the MK, meaning you can walk to the park or to the bus stop for any other resort, making it easy to visit resorts
5 The rooms are very large
6 The monorail through you resort is so cool!
7 You can also take a boat to the Wilderness Parade
8 The electric light parade every night is fun!

After staying at CR a few times, we are done with this resort. Nice place, but too stale of an atmosphere unless you're in the main lobby. Taking a monorail to MK is a bad idea since it's the last stop on the trip, however it's the first stop back from MK. Trying to get on the monorail generally requires you to get in a line that sometimes requires a fastpass :lmao: due to the popularity of the resort and the visitors it attracts. So be prepared to wait in line to get on the monorail and be patient when trying to do this towards the evening hours as they are generally packed with people heading back to the TTC via the resort monorail.

As far as monorail resorts go, we liked the Poly because the MK trip on the monorail wasn't too long and we could walk to the TTC to take the Epcot monorail...just my 2c

:thumbsup2 to both! We have never stayed anywhere else on our 20+ trips but club level at CR. The walking path is a dream!

I'm more in line with the OP. Always wanted to try a monorail resort and when I did I was unthrilled. Most of the time it seemed like a bus would have been faster. Up and down staircases, tranfers to get to Epcot, multiple stops...
There were always long lines to get on and that trip was even during a slow time. We rarely got on the first train to come around. Squeezing into tiny cubes with no air movement and people with less than stellar hygine...lol...
Not in a big rush to stay at another monosort.

I agree; the Poly has the best and most convenient transportation options. You can also take a boat to MK from there.

I have to say, for my family the only things CR has going for it are the ability to walk back and forth to MK and the view. We stayed once but will not be staying there again. There's not enough storage for 5 people in the rooms, it's rather loud and busy, and we found those bathrooms to be just crazy and impractical.

Of the monorail resorts, the CR is my fave because the walk to MK is so easy. I enjoy the Epcot resorts though much more now because I think that overall the transportation is easiest from there. That's just me though!

The other thing the Poly has going for it is that, of the 3 resorts, it's at the best angle for watching Wishes.

Most convenient on property really. We never use the resort monorail. The resort launch is great for MK. The monorail is not our reason for choosing a monorail resort, it's all about location and in the case of the Poly and CR the largest rooms on the property.

We love it for that as well. Heck we have even been waiting at a park or DtD & always look for the bus to the TTC. If that bus get there as soon as we get there (and see the Poly bus leaving) we hop that bus. It's a bit farther walk then the monorail exit but after all the ice cream & crap I eat all week, those extra few steps are worth it.

We LOVE the resort launch. We always take it a few times. I stay at the Poly because I love the monorail but I love the boat too.

I tend to disagree on the food choices, the food at the cafe is pretty bad... the view is nice. Location is good. The pools are just ok, for a deluxe hotel. Almost to zero Disney theming. Rooms are nice size.

Monorail is kinda a big hassel with the ramps and changing over etc.... the San to mk is ok, but long with achy feet.

This is a great point! We're staying at BLT for the 2nd time in January and really wanted to take my then 3 yr old obsessed Cars fan to AoA to see the resort, but I was thinking what a hassle it could be. I didn't stop to think about just taking a MK bus to AoA! :headache:

I love CR/BLT! It's one of my favorite resorts at DW. And I would never take the monorail to MK, you'll get there SO much faster just walking.

ETA: That the Contempo Cafe was one of the best QS locations as well. Had breakfast here almost daily on our last trip to BLT. And the "hassle" to get to Epcot really isn't a hassle in my eyes.
