Monorail Refurb & How It Affects MK Resorts

Not if you are staying onsite. You will get a parking pass.

The monorail was on an amended schedule last summer, too, and we were always able to find an alternate solution. Just make sure you build in a time cushion when getting from place to place.

It's Free Parking when you are staying at a Disney resort. They will ask you if you have a vechicle.

And we tried to catch the bus from the Contemporary to Epcot, and stood for the bus for an hour and found out we had to take the monorail. We now just take the HS bus vs walking to the resort there.

Okay, so that is ridiculous. I guess we will drive to Epcot. If the monorail is late picking up for MK, we can walk. I just don't want to overdo the walking with my bad knee. As it is, I hear that we put in about 6 miles of walking a day!

I cannot find anything that states a detailed modified schedule. Everywhere I usually find this information only states the following "The monorail system is undergoing refurbishment and may be on modified service and/or routes through December 2015. If Guests plan to use this form of transportation during their visit they should check to be sure of the best option available on their day of travel, as alternative transportation options will be available."

I found this on the GF thread but I keep hearing conflicting things but there is a hard schedule in the link... I don't know how accurate anything though is ever. I think I might just stick with buses just incase. The most im worried about though is my 8:05 ressie in MK when we go in September.

Yeah, I found that schedule too. However, that schedule states it's only in affect through July. The OP I quoted asked about the schedule for their stay in September.

If you take the resort bus to HS to then go to Epcot do you need a park hopper? Can you take the boat from HS without actually using a days ticket in HS? Wasn't sure if it was inside the park entrance or are you taking a bus from HS?

The whole monorail thing is quite confusing. I've about figured that the issue is it varies day to day based on what they are working on and when. Some days it may be reduced, some it may be perfectly normal. It's going to make it pretty impossible plan ahead what to do and will have to be taken day by day

Boats dock outside the parks. No problems there

At the GF can't you take water transportation to MK? Does anyone know that schedule or where to locate it. We are therein sept. We may want to use for pre park opening MK ADR.

You can, but the water taxis do not start until 8:30, at least that was the start time when we were there in October. We have an early morning ADR at MK in August and need to make plans for transportation too. If you have a pre park ADR you need to make alternate arrangements. I have been told that there will be buses available if the monorail is down, but I am prepared to call for a taxi if need be.

The resort monorail isn't working in the mornings as of right now. We were going to use it the other day and the only options were the ferry or small boat from mk.

What days of the week? Are you saying it wasn't working even on the days the schedule says it will be or were you using it on the days it's not scheduled till 8:30?

It was the 14th. We were at mk before 8:30. I was thinking it was running by 7:30 so it may be working on time by then.

Thanks. That was a day it ran at 8:30. It's so hard to figure out a plan it sure doesn't need to be made even more difficult by the posted schedule still being wrong.
