We have decided to do only 2 regular Disney park days - MK will be done at MNSSHP. So we will only need one-day park tickets (we aren't hopping). I know this means we will not have FREE access to the Disney Monorail system. But will we have any access at all? e.g. on the day of MNSSHP we want to park at the MK and monorail it over to the GF for tea, then monorail back to the park. If we have time we might even like to take the mono on a tour to see the other resorts etc. Can we do this, and if so, approx how much does it cost?

If you are on Disney property you have access to their transportation system (bus, boat and monorail) free. You can go to any park & resorts which ever way you would like to.

I don't think you will have any problems, we always stay on site but we have never been asked to show passes or resort ID's. If they did be honest with what you want to do, I can't believe it would be a problem. Have fun. Lori

I doubt that anyone will bother you when trying to get on the resorts monorail. We are never asked for tickets or any proof that we are staying at a resort.

Just don't stop to ask, "do you want to see my room key?" or anything like that, and you can start your tour.

Besides, all of the guidebooks encourage you to go to the resorts to relax and look around. If you board the resort monorail at the TTC, you will see the Polynesian first. I would suggest walking from there to the Grand Floridian, and then hopping back on the monorail to the MK and the Contemporary.

After touring the Contemporary, you can walk to the MK, or ride all the way around again on the monorail. Be sure to ask for the front car if it is not too busy.

Good luck! MNSSHP is fantastic.

By the way, there is never any fee collected for WDW transportation. You just need to have admission media which you'll have or be staying at the resorts.

Very, very rarely, they will check for ids to let you board the resort monorail. The last time I remember was NYE, 1999. We were staying at the Polynesian and boarded the resort monorail at the TTC as we returned from Hoopde Doo. AS you can imagine, it was very busy that night.

On a regular night, you should have no problem at all.

Another question: DaddyBeast's idea about stopping at the Poly and walking to the GF sounds great - I'd love to check out the Poly if we have time! Any suggestions on a good 1/2 hour to 45 min tour? Where are the "must see" places for non-guests to check out? We'll be heading to tea at GF so won't be interested in eating or drinking at Poly - just seeing the sights. It will about 2 p.m.

The only time I ever saw anyone checking ID on the monorail was for MK early entry morning. I'd plan on using the monorail. It loops into Epcot for about 5 minutes or so and provides an excellent overview of Future World.
