Monorail progressive dinner?

My DH and I have only two nights at Disney on our next quick fix. Saturday evening, we were thinking about trying to do a progressive dining experience around the monorail loop. We were thinking a pre-dinner drink at one resort, dinner at the next, and dessert at the third.

Has anyone ever done this? Do you think it would work? What louges/restaurants would you suggest for each "course?"

That sounds like a great idea. I'd do either drinks/appetizers at the bar at 'Ohana (I think it's called the Tambu Lounge) then dinner at the Concourse steakhouse OR drinks/appetizers at the Outer Rim at the Contemporary and dinner at the Kona Cafe. For dessert I'd suggest maybe the California Grill (if you're allowed to get dessert only there, maybe in their lounge?) or the Kona Cafe if you didn't do that for dinner. I've not suggested anything at the Grand Floridian because believe it or not (I'm saying this to myself) we've never eaten anywhere there. You could always expand your dessert portion into the Magic Kingdom (if you have park tickets that is). An ice cream or cookie (or an ice cream cookie sandwich) from Main Street would be an awesome end to the evening-maybe you could time it to see some fireworks. Have a great time either way and great name by the way ;)

Thanks, HeatherPage. How 'bout input from you GF eaters? If you had to pick between drinks/apps or dinner or dessert -- one only -- which would you pick and at which GF restaurant.

Thanks again.

very cool idea. Finish at Narccoosses with the almond cheesecake patty thing they have there. YUMMMMMMM

The GF has the best restaurants on the monorail. Why don't you get a drink at the Tambu Lounge, dine at Citricos, and get a nightcap at the Contemporary?

Avoid the bar at the Poly - there are always families milling around waiting to get into Ohana's and its pamdamonium with strollers!!!

I love this idea!

I would start with appetizers and drink at Tambu Lounge at the Poly. I *love* this place. The BEST pina colada I have ever had anywhere! Lapu Lapu's not bad, either! We once spent the larger part of a *very* rainy afternoon here. :lovestruc

I would then move on to Dinner at the Contemporary's Concourse Steakhouse (Filet Mignon and a side of onion rings, for me!)

and finally dessert at Grand Floridian cafe (mini desserts, including fresh fruit with chocolate ganache fondue!)

Second choice?

Appetizers and drinks at the Outer Rim at the Contemporary
Dinner at Narcoossee's at GF
Dessert at Kona at the Poly (lava cake! Banana Caramel Creme Brulee!)

Or my choice:

drinks and dessert at Kona
drinks and dessert at Grand Floridian Cafe
drinks and dessert at Cali Grill (if you can)

hahaha! That says a lot about me, I guess. :flower:

Additional suggestion: extra points if you can time it to see Wishes over dessert or on the Poly/GF beach afterwards!
