Which area do you prefer and why???

While I did love the view from the Poly, I did feel more isolated there than we did at the BC. I just love that the Epcot resorts (YC/BC/BWI) are so close to one another that you can just walk around to them (not to mention walking to Epcot). Just a more "fun" atmosphere to me.

I prefer the Epcot area. It's nice to have the option of walking to two parks and not having to deal with crowded buses, boats, or monorails. Plus, the dining options within walking distance at the Epcot area resorts and the World Showcase makes the location even better.

I think if I had small kids and knew I would be spending most of my time at the Magic Kingdom, I'd go for a monorail resort.

For me, it depends. The BoardWalk is our favorite, for just us. The convenience of being walking distance to both Epcot and D-MGM is great, and there are the great amenities of all the Epcot resorts in close proximity. When we've got the little ones with us, them our choice is someplace closer to MK. The Polynesian is the only deluxe resort we've never stayed at, but it sure seems like it would be the best. We typically stay at the Wilderness Lodge, which I feel will be ideal when we've got both older and younger children with us, because the proximity to Bay Lake and to the woods and trails of Fort Wilderness will be great advantages over the Polynesian. (Then, of course, when all the children are older, we're back to the BoardWalk.)

We love the Epcot resorts and the area. Can't beat being able to walk or boat to two parks. Plenty to see and do and a lot of great places to eat. I could see where people with small children would prefer the MK resorts area.

right now while my DD's are still young enough to want to do MK more than any other park, i can't imagine NOT staying at a monorail resort. but i imagine that as they grow, the epcot resorts will be a bigger draw.

Havent had the opportunity to stay at either but if we did, I would love the monorail access to MK and Epcot and would definitely love to stay the Poly or GF! We dont have children yet but we love MK and Epcot and the monorail is so easy.

:scratchin A very difficult decision.

In fact, I'm going to "cop out" and say both! :rolleyes1

I love both locations for the obvious reasons. I love the YC/BC with SAB & the BWI/BWV, and how close they are to Epcot and MGM.

I also love the GF & POLY and the Monorail, MK, the views, atmosphere, etc....etc...etc...

The good news is that we go 4-5 times each year and rotate our choices among the deluxe resorts. That way we can experience all locations!

I know...I know...."I'm a big help"! :rotfl:

I guess I would say it depends. For a trip with the kids, especially young kids, monorail resort all the way. But for an adults only trip, or with older kids, the Epcot resorts.

Epcot. You can walk to the park. On the monorial, first you wait for the monorail, then you wait at all the stops and then if you want to go to Epcot you wait again on another monorail.... WAY too frustrating!

Unless you stay at the Poly, and walk over to the TTC and catch a direct monorail to EPCOT or MK.

We stayed at BC on our last trip. It was fairly enjoyable and the walk to EPCOT was nice. While it is true you can boat to MGM from there, I wouldn't want to try that walk to MGM on a hot day.

For a family with 2 small girls, like we have, MK area resorts are easiest. Even the one non-monorail resort there, WL, has nice boats to MK. And you can also choose boat service from GF or Poly, or even walk to MK from CR.

Once our girls get older and they start to appreciate EPCOT and MGM more, we'll probably give BW a shot, and maybe even BC again.

For now, though, Poly and WL are in a close tie for tops on our list.

For my husband and I (no kids), it's the Epcot area. Epcot is my husband's favorite park and we spend many evenings there. He will only stay in this area. When I go on solo trips (I am the crazed Disney fan), I stay where ever I can get a good rate.

If it's just DW and I then we love the Epcot resort area more...It is alot more convenient and there are more options for adult nightlife...however if the kids are along, we usually split our stay between the two resort areas...this way we all get a taste of our favorite areas...

Paladin, I agree where you can get the best rate!!!

although i prefer the Polyn - most because it was the first WDW resort we stayed at!!!

It is very nice to walk around the resort in the daytime or at night.

WL/VWL/FW is great during the day - but at night some of those trails aren't lit - so they can be dangerous at night.

It doesn't seem like a Florida resort - it definitely feels like a Polyn resort.

wdw :wizard:

I also love the BC - it is a very nice resort!!!

but the lagoon view from the Polyn beats any of the views at BC and yes I have the lagoon view and Epcot view at this resort.

If it's not a lagoon view (preferably Poly 3rd floor concierge or contemporary 14th floor concierge) at the Magic Kingdom then I prefer anything in the Boardwalk Area. I'd rather stay at the BWI but I think we're planning a trip to the Yacht Club to complete or Disney Deluxe Resort Extravaganza!!!

:3dglasses

I loved the views of the MK resorts, but I would have to agree that being able to walk everywhere would be a def. plus.

Next on our list (after this trip) is the Poly, it would be our first time at a monorail resort, and my DBF wants to try the Boardwalk after that. He loves the idea of the nightlife being right downstairs.

So basically I didn't answer the question :goodvibes

Epcot b/c you can walk to do parks instead of walk or monorail to one. Also, I love being next to the wide range of food choice at Epcot -- MK's food definitely does not compare.

We prefer the MK resort area because of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake areas. It's a great area for a casual boat ride and wildlife watching. And of course, 2 of our 3 favorite resorts ( Polynesian Resort and Wilderness Lodge ) are in that area, not to mention our favorite park - MK.

By the way, monorail access would be way down the list of reasons we would choose a MK resort since we just don't view them as anything more than another way to get around. I actually prefer the boats, but I know there are many monorail fans too who place a higher value on them.
