Hi! I searched the board to get some info re: the Monorail and several threads mention that it is on one-way shuttle service while Nemo is being built. Now here is my dumb, never-having-been-on-the-Monorail-before question: Does it normally go in a loop that you can ride there and back in one trip? And that is what you can't do right now? If I (can I?) take the monorail from the park to DTD to have dinner, can I get back to the park later on by taking the monorail or do I have to find another way back? Or do I have to get to DTD somehow, but can ride the monorail back to the park?

I know it seems obvious, but I'm just not quite understanding how this thing works.....

The monorail does not go to DTD. If you are going to be at the MK on the day you want to go to dinner. The best thing for you to do is take the Resort Monorail to Contempory Resort. Once at the Contempory take the DTD bus. But the Monorail only goes to GF, Poly, Contempory, TTC, MK, and Epcot.

I assume this e-mail was moved, because I don't know why the poster is talking about WDW :confused3

Original poster, yes, that is my understanding of it. The monorail originally ran on a loop making a stop in Tomorrowland and DTD. Now, it's working one way each direction. You have to get off and board again to go back. On some days, the monorail may not be working at all due to the Nemo construction.

I assume this is the case when referring to the Monorail at WDW.

However, the DLR Monorail does in fact go to DTD and is currently only a one-way between Tomorrowland and DTD while the Nemo ride is under construction.

lol, wrong forum im guessing.

From what i know, during the peek hours (ie Disneyland opening and Disneyland closing) the monorail is only exclusive to Hotel Guest. Other than that, you can just hop on.

Yes, it normally goes in a loop. That way they can put like 4 trains on it at once, but right now, only 1 is running.

you could take the monorail back and forth. THough i did it on a Thursday so depending on the crowding, they may or may not let you on. the only resturant that might be worth taking the monorail would be Rainforest cafe. The other resturants are close enough to just walk back into the park.

Thank you!! I thought I had posted on the DLR board but maybe all that thinking about "one way" trips made my brain sieize up! :rotfl2:
