Monorail Drink-A-Thon

Great prayer Bill!!! Hey, I've got awesome news - On the spur of the moment, we've decided to do a quick trip in January during the Marathon weekend. Can't do the Lush thing until after our race is over, but then I'll be sipping a few Stella Artois' at R&C!

Thanks, everyone... I love WDW in Xmas but we had never stayed onsite during the holidays (when we went, we stayed at my parents) and last year decided to go for 3 nights and had a great time. We really don't go for the rides because it's too crowded, but we like walking around and visit the other resorts just to see the decorations. WL is definitely my favorite for that time of the year. Right after we checked in last year (12/25) we came downstairs, bought some hot chocolate at Roaring Forks, and sat down on the rocking chairs in the lobby just soaking it all in... it was wonderful (plus it was too cold and rainy to do anything else ;)).

Apparently, my DH enjoyed it a lot too because he told me to book 4 nights this year and, just as I was about to give my credit card info, he told me to book 5 nights!!!! You don't have to tell me twice! :rotfl2: He even wants to go to the Candlelight Processional, and he's not religious at all!

OK you guys are the pros-I've been reading this thread for some time now and wish I could be there a week later but can't so drink one for me!! Now a question. My dear sweet dh thought he'd try and surprise me next week with a bottle of champagne waiting in our Boardwalk room. I know that somewhere in my travels I saw a bar menu where I could order wine from in room service but now I can't find it. Can you help?? BTW we'll be toasting y'all at Beg River Grill and beers around Epcot and maybe the Monorail dink a thon -me with champagne dh with beer Thanks. :earboy2:

Maine_Jennifer, I have two more for sures for the meet, Birdiesunshine and DH.

Hello jpgirl, and welcome!

Hmmm...I cannot help you with the bar menu at BW...I will be staying there for the first tim in Oct...but I think you will be there before me. I am sure if you call the BWI they can help you! Or maybe another lush knows...I believe ahhhhh and Nerdy Minnie stay at BW often. Have fun and take lots of pics!

Hey, Maine_Jen, you need to move me from "maybe" to "confirmed" WOO HOO!!!

OK, I've been thinking about my upcoming Christmas trip and decided to change my ressie... Don't worry, WLL, I'm still staying at WL, but decided to change it from courtyard view to a studio in the villas. It was only $29 more per night and I'll get a kitchenette... I figure the extra cost will pay for itself by saving in breakfast alone! Add a quick dinner and/or lunch (salad, sandwiches, microwaveable food), and we can save a lot more...

List is updated on the other thread! :teeth: Sorry Cristy, it slipped my mind - this freakin' cold is driving me nuts!!

Less than two weeks to go!! :cool1:

SO . . . I just updated the "fun 'adult' meet" thread on the Adults & Solo traveler's forum. We've got 19 definites!!! WOW. So, I asked there and I'll ask here - not sure if ya'll think it'd be too geeky - should I bring name tags???

Cheers!

Hmmmmm, Maine_Jen... that's quite a dilemma.... I personally hate wearing name tags... I'm geeky enough as it is to then add a "Hello, my name is" :rotfl:

Same here!! I guess it's just the obsessive planner in me. I've just come from working at a wedding, so maybe it'll wear off. I'd make nice Disney name tags, but I'd would be the LAST one to put it on!!! :earboy2:

Name tags = geeky. Really geeky. I hate name tags.

On the other hand, stating both your name and your screenname to everybody who wanders in = pain in the posterior.

Not sure which way I come down on this one yet. Maybe I'll just print out a copy of the towel animal thing on sticky paper and wear that.

Heck, maybe everybody ought to wear their avatar.

I don't care much for nametags, but I have to admit they would be helpful with this many people, especially after we've had a few drinks.

I am looking forward to my adventure "around the world"... but wont get there in time for a great MEET!!

We're up to 21 for our little get together on the 30th!! :earseek: This is going to be crazy if everyone actually shows up!!!

10 days and counting!

Cheers!

I am so envious!! To think I will be flying your way while you are all meeting! I will be sure to have a drink on the plane in your honor!

Well, I finally gave in and went to see a Dr this morning. I have a sinus infection and bronchitis. Antibiotics for 9 days should have me cleared up *just* in time for the meet on the 30th! I sure hope so because I STILL don't feel like packing!! Anyone want to drive to Maine and do my laundry and pack for me???

I'm glad you went to the Dr., Jen, cuz it could have gotten worse and that would've ruined your vacation! My DH was in the same boat a couple of weeks ago and I made him go too... he also had bronchitis plus an eye infection. He finished taking all his medicines and is now healthy and ready to go in 2 days!

OMG Jen!!
Do those meds, drink OJ, take vitamins, ANYTHING to have you up and healthy for our Driink-A-Thon. We only have a few more days!! :hourglass

:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1
