I also must HIGHLY recommend Capt Morgan and club soda w/lime. very refreshing and not as sickening as with coke.

WLL - Have you tried Capt Morgan with diet coke? It's not as sweet as regular coke and the Capt kills the aftertaste of the diet coke.

Hi Mac! **WLL waving as she pulls up stool next to you...**

FOTM-Oh yes...and it is better than with regular coke. But try it with club soda...makes it so light and refreshing!

Been thru the thread, but not seeing any tips on packing/bringing beverages 12 pks from home to save $$. Thanks!
Love the thread!
Thanks for all the info!

Yes. My tip ... don't! Hard liquor bottles would probably be OK wrapped up in clothes. But beer ... I wouldn't do it. The holds are not pressured or heated the same as the regular cabin. Just stop at a grocery store on your way to your hotel. If you're not staying a place with a fridge, you'll want to pick up a styrofoam cooler anyway to keep the brewskis nice and cold :).

ETA: Welcome :).

Sorry schrodstrip. No tips about that (we usually make a packie run or 3.

I'm so going to try some new drinks this trip. Right after I get my Fiesta!

Nice to see ya WLL (cheers to ya ***clinks wine glass***)

LOL... this is too funny!!
My BF and I are heading down the end of May, and I've gotten him pumped for the Drink-A-Thon!! I figured since we're staying at the WL, we'll visit the "establishments" at the monorail resorts, then head back to the WL and crash!!
He also insists that we visit the MK after a few and ride BTMRR at night...

:drinking1 I wish it was May already!!!

you're welcome, schodstrip! I am glad Robin posted to ya...cuz I was just about to post..."Stick a twelve pack in your suitcase and VOILA! You have packed your beverages!" LOL! I am always going by car, so I did not even think abou cabin pressure and such!

missmouse...welcome to the thread! I am so jealous...you will love the WL! It is such a wonderful place! Plese come back to this thread and post your experience and opinions!

Mac-I hope your "new bevs" include a DM at Mizner's!

WLL- The WL really is beautiful, I figured it would give my BF a great impression of Disney; besides, the more he likes it, the sooner we can go back!! :teeth: We are going two days after our college graduation; it'll be our first vacation together, and he hasn't been since he was six, so most everything will be new to him!!

The lounge at the WL is the Territory Lounge, right? The last time I was there I was underage, so it wasn't important to me :p What is your favorite beverage there?

You are totally right. This is my drink of choice. Had many of them Saturday night for my birthday. I can not stand Captain with regular coke. Too syrupy. But Captain and Diet? Yum!

Sad, the bar/club ran out of Captain halfway through the night. He tried to offer a fake Captain, but I couldn't do it.

ilovedmb..how could I drink anything other than myself? ha! Wondering if you caught any of the vote-for-change tour? I did and got to see Niel Young as an additional not annouced bonus! too Cool DM & Niel yammin on the guitar!
Also, I love Bacardi/diet coke. While camping last summer my DH accidentally got diet coke W/ lime. In the darkness of the campfire it took awhile to figure out (not to mention the bar hopping earlier)...Gross, can't stand the lime!

I have a question for all you lushes. I am under 40 days til my solo trip :bounce: , and I am wondering about favorite resort bars other than on the Monorail or Boardwalk. I am planning to visit several other Disney resorts on this trip - places I have not really explored. I am looking for your wisdom - which resort bars should I visit? Are there any specialty drinks at any of them that I should plan to enjoy?

Thanks for your wisdom!!

Hey, I can add my experience!! LOL, I pack liquor to go - but according to the airline website, carry on luggage!!

I pack a bottle of wine, champagne, and a liquor (Gran Marnier - its cheaper to buy at sam's club than at a liquor store - $23 a bottle! can be $4 - 6 a snifter shot) I use a big bag to carry on, and of course check my luggage - I guess you could say I had my priorities!! :cool1:

Nope, couldn't get tickets. All the shows around here featured Bruce, not DMB. I don't prefer Bruce, but I would have gone anyway. But do you know how hard it is to get Bruce tickets in the NJ vicinity? Damn near impossible.

While I like lime with my captain and diet, I don't like the diet coke with lime. Definitely not the same!

Nothing wrong with that eeyore , can I get an Amen!

AMEN! Hallelujah!

miss mouse-You two will have a blast. I am sure your BF will love the WL...my DH loves it there...it has more of a "macho" feel to it than, say...the GF. Congrats on graduation!

My favorite drink at the TL? that's easy. I get a vodka dirty martini (the TL did NOT carry my beloved Hangar One vodka, unfortunately) usually with grey goose and I ask for blue cheese stuffed olives. That is heaven for me! But they do have specialty drinks there. I remember sitting by the pool drinking a fruity rum concoction...I "think" is was called a "lumberjack." Not sure, cuz DH had a bright green tequila drink at the same time. I know ONE of our drinks was called "lumberjack." Anyway, the pool bar is fun, too!

DH-Hoping someone can give you better insight than I. i really did like the Victoria Falls lounge at the AKL. that is a great resort to walk around and check out.

Might help if you list some of the places you're planning to visit. Course, I can be no help, I don't spend enough time in the resorts to bother, but I'm sure if you list some places, someone can help you.

I am really open - I haven't planned my days yet. I thought I would plan the resorts I visit by the advice I get here. I do know I am having dinner one night at Trails End, so I will be at Fort Wilderness, and I will be having lunch at Boatwrights once, so a visit to Port Orleans is definitely in order. Oh, and I have a PS at Olivias, but don't even know yet which resort to which I am traveling! :confused3

Thanks all, for your help!

Sign me up quick - I'll be there in June and can't wait to drink-around-the-world.
