Wondering if it is possible or even suggested to take the monorail to Epcot from MK on an extra hour eve and then walk back to BC thru Intl Gateway in July? :wizard:

If Epcot is closed when you return, you will not be admitted to the park to walk through to the International Gate. So the answer is no, it's not possible in July unless you return from MK well before regular closing time.

Even if you left MK before EPCOT was closed it doesn't make much sense. You'd have to to take the monorail to the TTC, change to the EPCOT monorail, take a long walk through EPCOT then take the boat or walk to the BC.

Much easier to just take the bus directly to the BC.

We like that walk, and do it mid day all the time. But you will be taking a cab to the BC if Epcot is closed.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE to go via monorail if you ar coming back to the BC after a MK EMH night in July. Epcot will be closed.

As Lewis said above, it is much easier to take the bus anyway.

Are you into pain?? Adding an extra 1/2 mile walk onto the end of a very hot and long park day (even if EPCOT was open) would not be my idea of a good way to avoid waiting for a bus...it would be 2 monorails and a VERY long walk if EPCOT is open (I assumed you meant it was an EPCOT extra hours evening).

Guess I am a wimp...but I would just hop a bus at the MK and ride home to the BC.

The buses are very convenient but found to be very crowded and very warm last August returning in the eve to the CR back from MGM while Fantasmic was showing. Also very long wait and crowded each nite on a previous trip while staying at CBR. But it sounds like the best and maybe only way back especially on a MK extra hour nite. We got spoiled with the monorail last trip. It will only be one nite anyway since we are staying at the BC and will probably be spending the other nites at Epcot or MGM. Thanks for the information. ::MickeyMo

Take a cab. Or go visit the lounge at the CR for a bit. Other people report shopping on Mainstreet till the last minute, then getting on an empty bus.

As long as you don't leave when everyone else does the bus will be fine. They only get really jammed at park closings when there are so many people trying to back to their resorts. As somesome suggested, just take your time, walk around, shop, etc. By the time you get to your bus stop the worst will be over and it will be normal again. Also, last week the Beach Club and Yacht Club shared one bus while the Boardwalk shared with the Swan and Dolphin.
I agree with another poster that after a long day and a LOT of walking you really do not want to 1) monorail to the TTC 2) go down the ramp and up the other side to the Epcot monorail 3) walk all the way from the Epcot main entrance to the International Gateway. If it's cool out it would be nice....but not in the Florida heat!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to become the CO-Pilot on the monorail. I am going to DW for the 3rd time and db and family is going, just thought it would be fun for them. :wave2:

Jonna: When you get to the monorail boarding area, ask the CM about riding in the front. They'll direct you to another CM at the front. Depending on how busy things are, you might need to wait a couple of trains before you can actually be seated in front. But, it's cool. At different times, our drivers have given DD a "co-pilot" license/card. We've also had them sign autograph books and T-Shirts. The best trip is between Epcot and MK (either way).
