Monograms and Scroll designs?

Hi everyone! For those of you who created your own pretty monograms and designs for your invites, save the dates, etc. Did you use a specific program? Did you create the scroll/caligraphy yourself and scan it? How did you do it? I really want to customize my invites for a personal touch. (I'm quite crafty) Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

i used photo shop for my sisters monogram and i downloaded a "true love" font from www.dafont.com

I used a mix of photoshop and publisher. Photoshop was definitely better design wise, but I couldn't get it to print the way I wanted it to so I used Publisher for that. I've also heard people use Powepoint, but I'm not sure how that works. And I totally second dafont.com -- so many great fonts for free!

I did mine with just Publisher, and searched for font's on www.dafont.com . Fun stuff!
