I know this has been asked a 100x's if not more. My trip is about 44 days away.
I need to make sure we have enough money. As this will be our last big trip for a few years.
We are staying 8 nights, 1st night we have no plan or park tickets. Then from there we have 7 nights. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge (pin code). This will be my first time in a deluxe hotel. So we have 7 sit down meals, 7 quick service and 7 snacks. Now we used some of our sit downs for the 2 meal stuff. So we will have 2 sit downs, 7 quick services and 7 snacks. I know we have tipping etc. What do you think extra for food will be needed? I figured day 1 would be about $100 since we will be there by lunch and dinner.

We don't really use CC's so we want to make sure we have enough money for extra food. I figured for all the other extras about $1500. this would be for survivors, tips and other extras.

The amount that you will need is dependent on the number of people, their appetites and ages. Another consideration would be the total number of tables service restaurants you will be dining at.

I'm budgetting for an extra $100/day for those extra snacks, etc... which I'm hoping is too much :)

Sorry Total # would help. There is 4 of us. DH, DS (8), DD (13). I see us doing both quick service and some sit down meals. My husband is big on breakfast. So cereal in the room will not cut it.

I guess that by now you have your ADRs booked? If so, then take a look at the menus at http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm . The prices are listed with the dining choices. You can get a ballpark figure for each of the restaurants you will be eating at. Don't forget that tax is another 6.5% and tips should be another 15%-20% at the tableservice places.

My husband and I just spent 4 days at Disney without the dining plan. We did at least one table service meal per day. No desserts but we usually had an appetizer and glass of wine with the meal. Most of them totaled around $85 with tip for the two of us. Quick service meals were cheaper but still ran close to $20 for two after tax. I would budget more than $100 for the first day for a family of 4.

You can get a filling breakfast at Roaring Forks (WL quick service) for around $10 after tax. Kids' platters are about $5. Beverages are not included. If you want to pay out of pocket for breakfast all 8 mornings, then you're probably looking at $240+ just for breakfasts.

My ADR's are booked but only for the credits I"m using. So I have 2 sit downs still not used, all 7 quick service meals and snacks. Is it worth maybe upgrading to the delxue or do you think it's still too much food? My kids will rarely want to sit too long.
On day of arrival we can't do any parks. So i figured lunch and dinner at the WL or downTown.

The Deluxe Dining Plan will be too much food, IMO. I've done it once but it was just the two of us and we booked signature restaurants for 3 of the 5 nights we were there. We also did room service once for breakfast. Those took 2 credits per person each. It was nice to try the higher-end table service dining but I wasn't trying to keep children happy between courses.

I think that you will do better dollarwise if you just pay out of pocket for those extra meals. Just take a look at the menus and decide which ones you think you will spend the most money on and use your dining credits for those. Pay out of pocket for the less expensive meals.

For instance, I have the regular dining plan for an upcoming 5-night trip. But I have ADRs for 7 table service restaurants. I've compared the prices at all of them and I've decided to pay out of pocket for breakfast at Crystal Palace ($28.75 pp) and use my dining credits for dinner at 1900 Park Fare ($42.59 pp).

It will take a little bit of research and number crunching on your part but there is no set formula when it comes to how much to bring for extra meals. Every family is different.
