Money saving tip of the day with small kids in a hotel room.

When you price line a hotel it says that they will not guarantee 2 beds all they say is this low price is for 2 adults. So what you do is get to the hotel early and tell them what you need and they will give you the best room they have available so get there early, if you roll in there after dinner you will more than likely end up with 1 queen bed.

Get there early and turn the one bed and it sleeps 5 comfortably.:thumbsup2

Just be aware it doesnt always work... Hotwire.com will gurantee bedding for 4 people but priceline will not. There are many hotels that will not budge and give you 2 beds with a priceline purchase.

We had 4 of us in a king bed on trip on a one night stay.

Yes, but you didn't answer my question--did you say you had a party of 4, party of 5, or did you just say that you had two adults? Because you should bve saying that you have a party of 5--obviously, 2 adults, 3 children. I've found that AAA, Travelocity, etc. ask me the ages of the children as well. I'm really surious, because I've always had issues with this.

P.S. The advice to "go early" really only helps if you have a choice in the matter--it won't work if, say, your flight arrives at 6pm.

On priceline you do not state a "party of" priceline rooms are only guaranteed for 2 people so if you have a party of 3 or more you need to get two rooms.
The scenario the OP laid out in her first post was just a joke, she likes to have fun with us :rotfl: You may luck out and get a room on priceline with more than one bed but it is not guaranteed.

Ah, I understand now. I know I've done AAA and Travelocity--we don't do hotels very often as a family. It doesn't sound like Priceline will work for my travel, any time soon.

And I'm aware of the OP's, um, posting style. I'm all in favor of being cheap, but I don't like people scamming. OTOH, if the OP had a way to reliably get a hotel room for more than 4 occupants, legitimately, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

True Story: A couple of years ago we went to Disney with a group that my DD performed with at the MK. One family had a family of 5 in a All Star room. The two girls slept on the double bed with their head at the top (normally) and the son slept sideways at the foot of the same bed. :scared1: I just know my kids would never put up with that - who wants to sleep next too two sets of feet.

My 3rd would much rather sleep on the floor than in a situation like that! ICK!

This is one reason we don't do hotels anymore unless there is no other option. We find a nice 2 bedroom condo on SkyAuction and have space and room to spread out!

We did PL when the older two were little some.....I had two bad experiences with PL that stopped me from using them.....although it wasn't really PL's fault, it was the hotel's. One place was so bad I ended up getting a refund! I know that is rare with PL, but this was a really BAD situation.

Eh... it's nothing until you've done that with three ADULTS in a double. :)

(Yeah... it was an interesting weekend in NYC one time...)
