We have 3 little kids and we pricelined a room in a hotel, but the hotel had 2 queen size beds. So the 2 adults slept in one bed and we turned the other queen sized bed sideways to make it wider and then we grabbed some towels from the pool(towels with the blue stirpe on them) and rolled them up and put them under the lower sheets to make little slots so the 3 kids could sleep in the same bed without touching each other and so nobody could hog the bed. It worked out great even the house keeping left the bed turned and changed the sheets for us.

We were to cheap to spring for a cot.:thumbsup2

I can't help but wonder why you bothered to turn the mattress sideways, rather than just have the kiddos sleep with their heads lined up on the sides, instead? Yes, you would have had to adjust the sheets, but it seems that might have been much easier. Regardless, I'm glad it worked out for you. :)

My guess is to put the side against the wall/headboard so that the pillows would not just all off the bed.

OP - We had to do this a time or two with 2 adults and 2 kids in a full size bed.
One of the few times that DH is glad he is short :rotfl:

Sounds like a lot of work to save the price of a rollaway bed. Why not save yourself all of that and just bring an air mattress?

I always sleep sideways in pullout sofas....much more comfy without the hard bar in my back!

I Find it cheaper to get a king sized bed only room. So we take the mattress off the bed put it on the floor and that's for the adults. Then the kids sleep on the boxspring that I make cushier with the extra towels from the bathroom and they all share the pillow in the closet.

Come on OP this one was pretty lame :sad2:I expect more from you!

Wow...some harsh replies here. Seriously? They had three small children share a bed. What's the big deal? If it worked for them, I see nothing wrong with it. I've certainly read much worse on this board!

Some Disboards advice if you will: know who you are defending before you defend them:magnify::magnify::magnify:

It's because Nelson84 always writes threads likes these. This isn't as exciting as some of the others, though.

Honestly though I didn't find any harsh replies here. I have seen MUCH worse/meaner replies to other REAL threads out there :confused3

I don't see the big deal. We did this all the time as kids and everyone I know now with 3 small kids does it. We've just never turned the mattress.

I don't see anything not "real" about this post. I see no need to go stalking every posters other threads. I simply read each new topic and if I'm interested in replying, I do. Why would knowing a poster's history matter?

Maybe we are redneck but we do this all of the time with our three girls. We just don't turn the mattress or use towels to seperate them. Doubt we will be able to do this much longer, my twins are getting too tall!

I am in the same boat you are in. I have twin girls and another daughter.

I don't see anything wrong with this.

I'm curious--when you pricelined this, did you say how many people would be occupying the room? Because I've never been able to get a regular hotel room for more than 4 people. In fact, I sometimes even have problems travelling as a party of 6--even when I specify that we want two rooms.

I know you like to pass along "cheap" tricks, but I draw the line on scamming the hotel.

We bring sleeping bags with sheets to put under them to keep them clean. Even if we have enough beds, the boys don't like to share.

Just want to point out that many hotels do not encourage moving the furniture.

When you price line a hotel it says that they will not guarantee 2 beds all they say is this low price is for 2 adults. So what you do is get to the hotel early and tell them what you need and they will give you the best room they have available so get there early, if you roll in there after dinner you will more than likely end up with 1 queen bed.

Get there early and turn the one bed and it sleeps 5 comfortably.:thumbsup2
