Monday question of the day?

Where would you go if you could go anywhere - no limitation - no worries about "how much it costs", or who will watch the (kids, dogs, etc), and your job will be waiting when you get back?

Excluding WDW as that would make it too easy

this ones easy for me and dh. we talk about it all the time. i would pick either london or paris. i think it would be so romantic to be in the eiffel tower with dh smooching! and i'd love to go to see the changing of the guards. so either of them will work for me. and dh's is australia. but we will probably never get to either place and that's ok with us. it's just nice to dream!

If money were no object....
DH and I would love to go to Italy..and than to Greece..
We are pretty lucky right now.. our IMA (IN Museum of Art) is hosting Greek (Roman) sculptures from the Louv'e til the first of the year, so we are planning to go see them in a few weeks.. probably the closests I will ever get to Greece...or Italy for that matter!

Well, the only place I'd really like to go is WDW since it's the one place I know ahead of time can accommodate my mobility needs. But if we're suspending reality, then I'd have to say I'd like an open-ended trip to trace our family's history.

For my side, that mainly means extremely local - until you get back to the late 1600s on Dad's side & early 1700s on Mom's. Then we're looking at Germany (we're PA Dutch) and ??? ...possibly france and possibly more Germany.

For DH's side, it's much easier to know where to go, just harder to trace. His grandparents were either his immigrant ancestors or the first generation born here. One side came from Germany & the other from Scotland. I have to say the idea of Scotland excites me!

Although the far western provinces of Canada & Australia sound pretty cool too!

There are a couple things I'd like to do. I'd love to go to New York and do the whole Broadway thing up right. I'd also love to take a world tour of roller coasters. LOL I know kindof random but we took a road trip of roller coasters for my honeymoon and I'd love to make it around the world. Of course that would mean hitting all the Disney parks along the way.

I once researched a boating/bicycling tour of France. It would take you the different wineries & cheese makers. It sounded like so much fun, but cost more than we could afford. The boys are just about the right age to go now, so that would make even more special.

A driving tour of Europe. Dh has seen some beautiful areas in Western Europe that we would like to share with the kids.

We were just on part of Route 66 on Saturday, in Flagstaff, AZ. There is a nice scrapbook store at the corner of Steves Blvd & Route 66.

DH and I have several dream trips, that we hope to accomplish before we die. He wants to trace his ancestors roots in Scotland (this will be our next big adventure). And we want to take an African safari and visit Australia. I would also really love to go to Japan (and hit Tokyo Disney while we are there).

For me I would love a world trip, take a couple months and really explore-not just the touristy spots either. If I had to narrow it down I would choose Europe since I've been to China and Japan (but would still like to go back) and Europe is just fascinating to me

Speaking of Cars, and Route 66, we took a road trip to Colorado, and from Phoenix you take I-40 which parallels Route 66. So many of the scenes from Cars look like the Winslow and Holbrook, AZ. They even have a Teepee motel that looks like the cone motel Sally ran in the movie.

When my Dad was 17, they did the whole Route 66 trip to Disneyland from Milwaukee, WI. I should ask him how much he remembers.

My dream trip would be to tour the British Isles. I want to go to London, walk on the moors, pick Scottish Heather, visit the Cotswolds and see the white cliffs of Dover. I want to go when the gardens are in full-bloom and do some of the historical garden tours. I want to stay in one of those historical trust houses. And I don't want to have to hurry home!

I also want to go to New Zealand and Australia, Germany, take the transcontinental across Canada, Alaska, the PCH...my list goes on and on.

I would love a trip around the world but if I was choosing just one place it would be the British Isles.

I would want to stay at bed & breakfast hotels and castles in Ireland.

That's easy for me. If money and time were no object I would want to take a road-trip that hits all 48 states of the continental US. We've looked into doing part of it a bunch of times but it never quite seems to work out timing-wise. Since DH started his new job, it'll probably be at least 5 years before he can get 2 weeks off in a row, so this will have to be a dream.

I think when I'm older, I'd like to visit other parts of the world, but for right now I just want to see all that America has to offer.

Denmark, Germany & Japan. I have two exchange student brothers from the first two countries who I'd like to visit. They are like brothers to me even though they only lived with us one year. My brother and his family are in Japan.

After that, I'd want to take my camper and visit all the states in the U.S. Of course, we'd need to fly to Hawaii & take a cruise to Alaska as well.
