So true my friend.

I especially loved Vin. I might be biased but I don't think the modern day announcers can touch the old school boys.

There's a really good reason Vin did games solo for decades after other clubs started using teams (he would switch off with Ross Porter, etc. for a couple of innings, but they were never in the booth together). Vin could call a game, leaving enough space to tell his wonderful anecdotes, add some color/stats, and still leave you feeling like you were sitting in the ballpark with Vin as background music with the game front and center. He called games for radio exactly like he called them for TV too, and it sounds great regardless.

How many of us grew up listening to Vin call Dodger games on a transistor radio while we barbequed or played catch or swam in the pool?
