My mom is currently 38 and can't wait to start celebrating her 40th birthday.:cool1: She wants us to all go down to WDW and spend the week there. We know that it is too early to start booking things, but we get SO excited over WDW that we're already planning.

We want to stay at All-Star Music because they had a LOT more stuff going on for my (currently) 11 year old brother. I also know that Mom wants to get her hair done at BBB. I think I'm going to order a cake from the broadwalk. But, I also want to doing something else special that's not too costly.

We've had plently of WDW experiences before. :thumbsup2 At the P&P party we were first in line to meet Cap'n Jack  , we've eaten at Cindy's Table more than once, partyed around Disney Quest, met characters (if there's no lines lol):goofy: , and such. I'm pretty such I'll be making reservations for Cape May Cafe again because Mom said that she enjoyed that, but I need more ideas.

Are there any moms out there that have ideas for what they would love to do for their WDW birthday or kids of parents that would want to do something or have done something special that didn't call for a loan? I'm open to anything. :scared1:

Dad will be 41, Mom celebrating 40, I'll be 21, DB nearly 13, and DB 5 1/2. What can we do as a family that we haven't done before? Any help would be great! Her favorite character is Goofy if that's important.

That is very nice of you to be putting all of this together for your mom. How about getting a Goofy themed basket, and have it in her room upon arrival?

They don't put anything in the rooms until you've checked in though, right? Because I thought about ordering the cake and having it there upon arrival, so that after all of the traveling (with a then to be five year old:scared1: ) to get there we could sit back for a moment to enjoy having gotten there in one piece lol. :rotfl2:

But, I definately think a goofy basket will make a GREAT girt for her. maybe I just take it to a birthday character dinner that Goofy will be at.
Thanks for the great idea!

I thought they could :confused3 . Not sure, but maybe they could put it in the room when you are out in the parks or out to dinner. :wizard:

That would be cool. I think they can put things in your room after you've checked in.

That is correct, nothing delivered befor check-in, as you won't know what room your in until you get there.
Check here for help and some ideas about having a cake delivered.

Also for something to do, how about a tour? Here is a list of tours Disney offers, along with info.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tours.htm

Of course you are limited because your brothers are young, but here are the ones they can do.

Family Magic Tour: A fun filled scavenger hunt at the Magic Kingdom that the entire family can enjoy. You’ll follow clues in pursuit of a Disney villain to thwart his evil plan. Lots of fun surprises and character interaction are in store as your detective skills save the park from dastardly deeds.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Behind the Seeds: Take a walking tour of the "Living with the Land" attractions. Explore various areas within the greenhouse and techniques used for raising crops. You'll take part in a herb/spice sensory challenge, veggie taste test, fish feeding, lady bug release and don't forget the alligators! You'll be give a seed to sprout in your pocket. Who knows, by using the gardening tips you'll get, it may grow into one of those gigantic specimens you'll see on this tour.
All ages are welcome with strollers provided for little ones. ECV users must transfers to a manual wheelchair. Cameras and videotaping are welcome.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Floral Experience: Create your own Disney themed floral arrangement to take home with you. The arrangements will vary by season. The Floral Experience is offered at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. Call 407-827-3505 to book.

OMG! The Family Magic Tour sounds great.

We've never actually done a tour before because of the boys ages, but this sounds really cool. We love interacting with characters (we usually go to a character meal a day when we're there) and we each have a favorite Villian. ^_^ :maleficen

I'll have to look into this for sure!

I reedited my post with a link to all the tours with info about each one.

My DH had a basket sent to me and BFF when we were there on our birthdays.
He used the disneyflorist and they were a big help altering things for what he wanted. We got a Pirate themed treat with candies, pirate hats, balloons. It was great....and yes, it was delivered after checking in. We checked in and then left for a park and it was waiting when we got back...what a great surprise.
We also went to the tea at the Grand Floridian....too cool. We told them it was our birthdays and they gave us roses, birthday tiaras (which we wore for the rest of the trip....and received lots of special treatment), and cupcakes too :cake:
We did a tour, we went to La Nouba, luau, and Hoop....but those are all costly.
it was just a lot of fun getting all the "Happy Birthdays", special seatings and desserts at the restaurants. The character meet and greets were super fun....they goofed around with us more than usual.
You will have a great time!!

You must go to Town Hall in MK and get her a birthday button.

We got our birthday buttons at the resort on check in ::yes::
Wore those, but the tiaras were the best!! More unusual and a lot more people noticed. They kept asking where we got them.

We visited WDW last August over both my son's B-days and I asked the front desk if they could have balloons delivered to our room. To top that off they also had an autograph photo of goofy. We left for dinner that evening for their b-day dinner and when we returned the balloons and photo was sitting on the entrance table to our room. It was pretty cool to enter the room and the first thing you see was the balloons. A magical moment.

Yeah, we went down in April for my brother's 11th birthday.

They gave him a birthday button when we arrived at the front desk to check in. While out in the parks I bought him a giant cake hat with a button that lit the candles on top. That hat got him plenty of Happy Birthday's from other Disney guests. We also received balloons and a signed picture of Buzz.
(lol. That was so funny because we were in our room at the time. My threee year old DB was suppose to lay down and take a nap, so we all were pretending to sleep. 11y/o DB DID fall asleep and when there was a knock on the door he sat and said, "Come in!")

We've been to the Hoop before too. I was trying to think of a place we haven't gone before, but Mom is thinking about Chef Mickey's. She loves it there! Somehow we end up with the same waiter everytime we go and he's been there for over 12 years. She just loves him because he takes GREAT care of us and is like the best server in all of WDW.

I've looked at the Disney Florist too and I think I might use them, too. I really like the Pirate's Life and the Welcome to the Wonderful World of Disney ones. Those are two that I definately think she'd like. But, I'm also starting to think that I should make a goffy basket myself. I didn't find any great Goofy ones. She LOVES Goofy and Beauty in the Beast.
