Hi Ladies! Never in a million years did I think I'd be back on this thread!!

For those of you that don't know me, we have an 8yo DS. Then it took us four loooong years to conceive DS #2. We tried all kinds of fertility meds, treatments, procedures, doctors, etc., none of which worked. Then we decided to take a break and 6 months later found out DS#2 was on the way. He'll be a year old on January 28th.

And....I just found out I'm pregnant again. O.M.G. :scared1: Needless to say it was a shock! I still can't believe it took us 4 years for DS#2 and now, before DS#2 is even a year old, we find out I'm pregnant with #3 and we weren't even trying!

DH says we have to stop going to WDW. With DS#2, we went to WDW and when we came back found out I was pregnant. We just got back from WDW on December 23rd and I took a test on the 26th and got a BFP.

It's still super early (I'll be 6w on Saturday) so we haven't told anyone IRL, but I had to have somewhere to talk about it so decided to come on here! :goodvibes

Wow Skuttle, congrats!!! I was on the TTC thread with you when you were working on #2. Now you're having #3, I'm so excited for you! :yay:

I had a baby boy in November, he's seven weeks now. :goodvibes Samuel is the sweetest baby and I am so thankful that he is here, happy and healthy. :lovestruc He was bigger than expected when he finally decided to come out (a week late), 9lbs, 4oz but all went well.

Again I'm so happy for you, I love to see my TTC friends here!!!!!

:cheer2: YAY!! :cheer2:
Im officially OFF Bed rest! :worship:

Doctor says he is still sticking to his theory of baby coming out as a premie, BUT there IS a possability he may go to his due date. :)

My Husbands WHOLE family on the other hand, says the baby WILL be a premie. Mexicans have a lot of "Superstitions" and ALL this family are telling me they give it 2 more weeks because of "Signs" and "dreams" they all have.

But which ever way he will be coming SOON! :dance3:
Me and the Husband are very anxious and VERY excited! :yay:

January 30! What a great due date! ;)

I was freaking out at work today. My co-worker was due on Dec. 25 and delivered her baby yesterday! I saw her on Wednesday and we were sharing pregnancy stories- she was feeling great, everything was normal, was counting down the last 4.5 weeks- and now she has a baby! To think I just saw her the other day and things were fine, and now she has a baby, is crazy to me. Made me a little scared that I will go a month early  I just kept thinking- how did she know she was in labor? Even if I thought I was in labor, if it was a month early I don't know if I'd let myself believe it's real! I guess you just know!
My hope is that I will deliver sometime after Christmas but before Superbowl Sunday (Feb. 5). I do not want to be 41 weeks pregnant!

Don't stress over going into labor & not realizing it! Trust me, I'm on my third pregnancy and you will definitely know when it's happening!!! ;)

I am due January 30th and I am really, really, really hoping the same thing that you are!!! I'd love to have the baby early & definitely NOT on Superbowl Sunday! If a bunch of people are watching the Superbowl & those stupid commercials & I'm laying there moaning in pain, I will be one unhappy mama!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I also do not want to go past 40 weeks. My obgyn used to NEVER induce before 42 weeks. He is "old school" and wanted women to go into labor on their own. But if you got to 42 weeks, he would give in & induce. Well, luckily for me, a few years back, he hired a nurse practitioner to work with him. She isn't there anymore due to having her own children now, but she taught him to INDUCE! Yay!!! So now he is willing to induce (under certain circumstances) between 38-40 weeks.

Hello ladies!

I just thought I'd pop in and update everyone and hopefully hear some updates from y'all too.

I'm in my 8th month now, and it's getting pretty uncomfortable with all the round ligament pain. But I can still sleep well, so that makes me super happy LOL.

Next week I have my 35 week appointment, and they said they may do the Group B Strep test that week since I'll be almost 36 weeks. Is it painful/bad? After that I'll go to weekly appointments, so I'll be doing the living at the OB-GYN office routine. ;)

I asked about the chances of having a giant baby, and the doctor said I'm not on track to have one LOL. I measured normal this past time, so hopefully the 75th percentile thing was just a growth spurt. ;)

We've still got quite a bit left to do before Sweet Pea arrives, but with Christmas coming up it's getting hectic trying to finish it all. Oh well, it's fun too, even if it is stressful. :)

That's awesome that you are 35 weeks and CAN SLEEP!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm actually extremely jealous! I haven't slept for about 2 months now. I'm not in pain, just very uncomfortable so its hard to sleep. I've tried everything -- extra pillows, less pillows, using my Boppy under my stomach, a pregnancy wedge, but nothing works!

Because of a few complications, I started my weekly appointments 3 weeks ago so I already live at my ob's office! I had the Group B Strep test this past week. My obgyn does the test twice -- once at 34 weeks and once at 37 weeks. To answer your question, it doesn't really "hurt" -- its more of a very very uncomfortable feeling! It's very similar to a Pap test if you get those once a year as recommended by obgyn's. It's quick & easy, but like I said, it is uncomfortable.

If by chance your tests for Group B Strep are positive, they'll just give you penicillin or another antibiotic during labor. They usually give you 2 bags (not sure of the exact amount) of penicillin via your I.V. and if you give birth prior to them giving you BOTH of the bags, they will just give the newborn baby a shot before he/she is released from the hospital.

I'm crazy obsessive about every test they do, so if you have questions, feel free to ask me!

Thanks!! Congrats on your Samuel. What a big boy. Seven weeks...with Liam I remember 6/7 weeks being the worst, then he started sleeping until 4am right after that which was like heaven!

Congrats Allison!!! What a blessing!

Wow, Allison! Congratulations! :cutie:

Thank y'all! We are still trying to wrap our heads around it, but getting more and more excited every day. DH is more excited than I ever imagined. Just so many logistics to think about going from 2-3 so unexpectedly!

So many of you ladies on here are so close to your due dates!! Seems like it'll be exciting around here soon. :goodvibes

Thanks for the info on the test. I wound up having it on Thursday's appointment, and I agree totally with how you described it. Uncomfortable like a pap smear, but not terrible.

Here's an update on us (sorry to be long-winded, LOL):

I went in on Thursday for my 36 week appointment and my Group B Strep test. My blood pressure came back a bit high (actually it was the lower number that was night, not the top number). Also, they had done blood work at the 35 week appointment and my liver number came back slightly elevated. So since the OB's office is closed on Monday for the holiday, they decided that they wanted me to head to the hospital for 24 hour monitoring to be on the safe side and rule out pre-eclampsia.

We hadn't packed our hospital bags yet (that was on this weekend's to-do list), so fortunately they said I didn't need to rush to the hospital or anything like that. So I left from the appointment, drove back to work to let them know my last day was coming a day early LOL, and went home and threw some stuff in a bag. We left my dad at our house putting together the baby's swing, bassinet, etc.--poor guy, it took him hours! We did quickly put the car seat in my car just in case baby decided to make an early appearance.

So we headed to the hospital and it was actually pretty low-key. At first they just set the machine up to take my blood pressure every 15 minutes for a few hours and I spent about an hour on the fetal heart rate/contraction monitor machine. Those numbers all looked good, so I just had to stay for 24 hours for them to collect my urine and be sure there was no protein in it. They would periodically check my blood pressure and put me on the fetal heart rate monitor for half an hour every now and then.

Everything looked good with my blood work, BP readings, and no protein in the urine, so they let me come home. So I have pregnancy-induced hypertension, which makes me be in the high risk category at their office. Fortunately all that means is I have to go twice a week to the office, and I'll get an ultrasound every week. I also have to check my BP at home twice each day and take a chart showing the readings to the office for my appointments.

Also, if I don't go into labor on my own before then, they will induce me at 39 weeks. So we'll get to meet Sweet Pea one week early at least! That part makes me happy, since pretty much everyone seems to be entirely miserable by the last couple of weeks.

I'm just hoping that my BP looks good at the upcoming appointments so I don't have to go into the hospital for another 24 hour monitoring period before Sweet Pea makes her appearance. But I'm glad they are going the "better safe than sorry" route for sure!

Elisabeth, with my first, I was diagnosed with PIH at 32w and put on bedrest. I had weekly appointments for ultrasounds and NST. My water broke at 35w6d. With my second, I didn't have PIH at all. I had an elective induction right at 39w, which went really well. Good luck to you in the next few weeks!!

Thanks for the voice of experience on this one! I'm very happy that I don't have to go on to strict bedrest. At least this way I can still move around and not be super strict about it. I'm also glad that I'm pretty much 37 weeks along, so at least I don't have to stress too much about whether or not they have to induce me earlier than planned. I'm really glad to hear it didn't happen to you a second time--that's a good sign!

I was really worried about bedrest and DS#2 coming even earlier than DS#1 because I heard that's what normally happens. Not once with DS#2 did I have any blood pressure problems. And who knows how long he would have stayed in there. I was dilated about 2-3cm when I did the elective induction, so I was making progress. I did have GD with DS#2 and didn't with #1.

This gave me chills! I remember you from the TTC thread and my second DD will be 1 in 2 weeks! Congrats that is awesome!

Thanks!! I remember you, too! I didn't realize your second DD was so close to my second DS. DS#2 birthday is January 28th. :goodvibes

Skuttle ~ I was on the TTC thread with you when you were TTC #2! So very happy for you that #3 wasn't even tried for. Just a pleasant surprise! We have been TTC #2 for almost a year now :sad2: Either way I'm very happy for you! :goodvibes Congrats and I hope this pregnancy is easy on you.

ALLISON! Oh my gosh! This is unbelievable, and SOOOO exciting! I'm thrilled for you!

I'm back in the game, as well. We just had a successful frozen embryo transplant from two embryos we had left from the IVF cycle that led to my pregnancy with DS (19mos). I'm currently 9 weeks and have been nauseous longer than that thanks to being on estrogen pills. I have been released from the RE and go for my first OB appointment on Wednesday.

I did have a scare early on. I think it's likely that I miscarried a twin, but there's really no medical way to prove that. I had to go in but ultrasound revealed a sac (I was only around 5 weeks so that was really all that could be seen) and two additional ultrasounds have shown a baby with a heartbeat, so things are looking good!

:cheer2: Welcome WDWAurora and Skuttle! :cheer2: So happy that fellow TTCers have made their way here. It's kinda full circle for me, because both of you either had/were preg with your babies and had graduated from the TTC board when I was on there. Now I am 36 wks and getting ready for my little guy and you are both joining in at the beginning of your pregnancies! So exciting! Skuttle, my hope is that my #2 will be as pleasant a surprise as your #3! Since we never had any diagnosis for our infertility, I know that it's possible! pixiedust:

Elisabeth, sorry to hear that you have PIH but glad that Sweet Pea is doing well and is staying in there to cook a little while longer! 39 weeks will be here before you know it!

I go tomorrow for my 36 wk appointment. I'm still in absolute disbelief that it's already January 2012! This pregnancy has flown by! (I know I probably say that every post but that's how I feel!!) DH and I installed the car seat/bases this weekend and the nursery is pretty much done so if I went into labor now we'd be ok. Don't worry, I still have a long list of "must do's" and "would like to do's" to keep me and DH busy for the next 4 weeks!

Hope everyone enjoyed ringing in the New Year! I feel asleep at 10pm! :)

Glad to hear about everyone's progress this week!!! Sounds like we all will be having little ones very soon! :thumbsup2

Happy New Year everyone!!! I stayed up until exactly midnight but fell asleep literally at 12:01 LOL! Best wishes in the New year!!!!

It's great to hear that you didn't have blood pressure problems the second time around. Hmm, interesting about the GD though. I don't have it this go-round, and I'd certainly like to avoid it in the future, as I'm sure everyone would.

Tips for success--go ahead and pack that hospital bag. I had no clue I'd wind up needing it at my 36 week appointment, LOL! ;) Time really is flying by! I'm glad to hear y'all are mostly ready. We weren't quite ready, but the hospital incident has lit a fire under DH to finish quickly! ;)

Glad to hear about everyone's progress this week!!! Sounds like we all will be having little ones very soon! :thumbsup2

Happy New Year! We didn't mean to stay up until the new year, but when I realized I was tired and it was already 11:56, we decided to just stay up.

Just wanted to stop by and say hi. I hope everyone had a great holiday season. We were on a roadtrip for 3 weeks so things were crazy for us but fun... we were in dc, kc and did the jack daniels distillery tour in tn (or I should say my DH did the tour, I made it to the mash house and my preggo nose disagreed with that so I had to leave  I'm still disappointed about that!!) , stopped through atlanta for a little while and finally made it back to orlando.

My little monster has started drumming away in there almost constantly. It's pretty crazy when I think about it.

I hope all is well with everyone!:goodvibes

Skuttle - Congrats! I remember you from this thread during your last pregnancy...my baby boy was born 3-30-11. I have not checked in here in at least 6 months, but just stopped in to lurk and see if any adorable babies pics were posted and I see your post ! Hmmm, I better be careful myself.

Skuttle, do you know or remember how things went for esbrick? She was having a few problems back when I had my baby. I stopped visiting the thread in about April, but everything was still ok....do you know what she had? I was just thinking of her when I was reading through some posts and went back to the March posts when I had my baby, and she was very active on this thread then...I scrolled through some more posts, but couldn't find any posts saying how things worked out for her.
