we ended up going with a travel system for now. although I really like the chico car seats.

we got a baby tredn 3 wheel jogger and car seat around $240

seems like time is winding down now. I am a little sad knowing this is our last child (even as a surprise, it has been a great pregnancy, being able to share it with the girls etc). Right now I am really anxious to be off work, looking forward to this new baby, fall, football and spending time with the family.

I pretty much have the nursery ready...need to do a few more things, and get a pack and play....
hope everyone else is doing well!!

New baby, fall, football and family, sounds perfect! :thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me more about the Amazon Mom program? I get the general idea but it seems too good to be true. How do you guys us it to save $$$? Any other ways to combine discounts with the 15-30% off and free shipping? TIA!!

I don't really use it for the diapers and wipes yet...but I may eventually (I am very well stocked up b/c I started buying diapers with coupons that were on sale back in May). I got one huge box of wipes at the begininning using the discounts from their automatic shipping thing, but then I cancelled after the one shipment, and using a coupon. It was like 720 wipes for $10! I do use it for the free 2 day shipping benefits. I registered at Amazon.com so I order from my registry every so often just to grab things that no one bought me. We also get the free 2 day shipping on almost anything else (non baby related) we order, which is very nice.

Congrats on a baby girl!!! Time to go shopping. :goodvibes

I failed the one hour test and just took the three hour. I'll get the results tomorrow, I'm really hoping that it comes back okay but I don't want to give up ice cream. It's a pregnant woman's right. ;)

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. KMFX you passed the 3 hour!

We got the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Travel System as well. My parents bought it for us on Monday b/c BRU was having a sale. Its originally $239, but they had it for 191.99 and my mom used a 20% coupon so she got it for like $163!! I'm so excited b/c I really feel like we are fairly ready for AJ now. We still need a chest of drawers but we do have one that doesnt match we could use until we get one, and the moniter, but that won't be needed for awhile b/c AJ will sleep in our room for a few months. I am gonna rent a pump from the hospital while I'm on maternity leave and we'll see if I need to buy one before going back to work - but a friend offered to let me borrow her Medela In Style. I'd just need the new hoses and such. Oh and we really need a different car, but thats another matter entirely!

sounds like things are coming along....

this baby is so out of room (as I am typing he is kicking my top and bottom)
I go back Monday- my usual day is Friday, but they had to switch, guess I will be weekly after that. I am 36wks this week so I think they will do an internal, not looking forward to that.
We have meet the teacher this Friday and then last minute supplies pick up for the weekend (and enjoy the last of summer)...school starts Monday, then the next weekend, my daughters softball team has a fundraiser and the next weeked Gator football kicks off so we will be traveling and the NEXT weekend I will have a baby!! No spare time at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to all the fell mums and mums-to-be! I am due with my first child in 3 weeks however due to health reasons Drs have decided to induce me this Monday! I am very excited to meet my little girl but am soooo scared of the actual labour part  I've been trying to distract myself and not think too much about it but I am absolutely petrified!

Hello Ladies!

First and foremost, I hope everyone is feeling wonderful and well! :goodvibes I had a few free moments, so I thought I would drop in and give an update!

Our Little Girl has finally arrived! :lovestruc On August 12th, Ava decided to grace us with her presence!

Here is my "Birth Story"...

On Wednesday, August 10th, I had my routine OB appointment. My OB said that, while I was dialated 3cm's, my cervix was still very posterior, but she decided to strip my membranes to try and move things along.

I was VERY crampy and uncomfortable afterwards, but she had warned me that I would be crampy, so I thought nothing of it. DH and I came home, went along with our day, and even went for a long walk and to our neighbors bonfire that evening. But around bedtime, I was feeling very tired and "off".

At 7:30am on the morning of August 11th, I woke up to a super strong contraction and a gush. I rolled out of bed, stood up and proclaimed to DH that "it was time". We finished packing our last minute things, straightened up the house, had a small breakfast, and headed to the hospital.

When we got there, it was about 9:30am, and I was just starting to have contractions. My plan was to have NO DRUGS. I wanted to try and go natural for as long as I could. By about 11am, my contractions were REALLY strong, but I was only about 4cm's. My mom and I did some walking laps around the hospital, but that was making it worse.

My contractions were TERRIBLE. Just awful. But my poor DH, he was my by my side the whole time, rubbing my back and my belly, letting me squeeze his hands. I would have been lost without him!

I finally gave in and requested IV drugs sometime in the late evening, but they weren't doing anything. So, finally, after about 16 hours of hard labor, I gave in and had the epidural.

BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE. :worship:

I labored for two more hours before I started pushing. But the pushing was putting the baby in distress and I was not progressing, so they started prepping me for a C-section. I was ready to go when there was an emergency, and my OB had to assist in an emergency C-section. In that hour or so that she was gone, I progressed from 6cm's to 10cm's and was ready to go.

I pushed for an hour, made little progress, so they gave me a boost of epidural, I napped for about a half hour, and pushed her out!

21 hours of labor!

Ava came into the world on August 12th at 4:37am weighing 7lb. 12oz., and was 20.5" long! Looks just like her dad, but with my blonde hair and blue eyes! She is just beautiful!

I can't even describe how much we love her. It is like nothing else in the world matters at all. The stupid, small things in life are meaningless. All that matters is her happiness! It is the most insane, instant love! It is like she was always here! :cloud9:

But we are enjoying our little girl, and she seems to be enjoying us! She takes her bottle well, sleeps well, and is just content! When I upload some pitures to Photobucket, I will post a link.

Thinking of everyone and wishing you all well! :goodvibes

Things are definitely coming along! Got the stroller/car seat! Looks good! Washed some more 0-3 months clothes - the fall ones I hadn't taken the tags off. I still have some long sleeve/wintery ones that I haven't washed, but who knows how fast he will grow. And I think we have worked out a way to get a different car!

Awesome that you are so close. And you will be busy up until then so I bet it goes by fast. I am at 34 weeks so I think I will have one more 2 week appt (after my appt tomorrow) then I will go to weekly. They don't think they start cervix checks on me until reallyu close to the end since I am a FTM. But I guess we will see.

Sorry you are a Gator fan, BTW! LOL...GO DAWGS!

Congrats!!! I have to admit I just teared up at your last couple of statements. I can't wait to feel all that love for AJ (even though we love him already, I'm sure it will be even more so when we meet him). And thank you so much for sharing your birth story. I don't know if I will get meds or not - leaning towards yes - but I want to wait as long as I can. We'll see what happens. Since I have no idea how my body will react, I am just going to play it by ear and remain open.

Enjoy Ava!! When you get time to post photos, we'll be here, but no rush!

Yay! Congrats! Welcome Ava! princess:

Glad you shared your birth story, that you decided to go with the epidural and you thought it was a great decision! ;)

Hope things continue to go well, can't wait to see pics of the little princess!

Congrats AKLMegs!!!

I am definitely planning on the epidural. ;)

Hope everyone here is doing well. :goodvibes

This kid has really started moving around in there, or he/she is just bigger now so I feel it a lot more. About two more months and it's baby time. :lovestruc

Believe me, the moving part will only get worse. I hate to say it like that, but I'm gonna be honest, as AJ gets bigger and there is less room, he hurts me! It is so uncomfortable when he moves around and especially now, I feel him on my bladder and that really hurts. I'm glad he is moving b/c it eases my mind, but oh my!

We got our new(to us) car this weekend. We got a 2011 Kia Sorento. I traded in my Mitsibushi Eclipse (2-door sports car) and now I have a mommy car! It is previously owned (26,000) miles but thats ok b/c we got it at a good price b/c of that. I also got 5 inches chopped off my hair - mommy haircut! - and I love it!

I started feeling kind of bad at the dealership Saturday...not sure if it was anxiety from such a big purchase, going a long time without eating (we had to wait forever to do paperwork), the heat (though I was inside most of the time) or what. But since then I've had lots of Braxton Hicks, lots of cramps, many BMs, and my dogs will not leave my side! I'm a little worried about the dogs...one b/c I know they sense stuff before it happens and two b/c they can't do this to me for 5 more weeks! Actually if I am honest, I had an issue last Thursday, some type of hormone rush, b/c I got incredibly hot, crampy and itchy for about 30 minutes. I suppose things are starting to happen, though I know things CAN happen for weeks before real labor begins.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well! College football starts tomorrow!! Whoo hoo! Enjoy the rest of the week!

it's almost here!!

yes I have to agree on the "no room" baby has no room at all and it is VERY uncomfortable!!! The 8th is my last day of work...not long now! We are headed to Gainesville this weekend for the Gator game....have to make it to one before he gets here...and who knows, his first game may be pretty quick!! ;)

Hi ladies! Mind if I join you? :goodvibes

I'm just 6.5 weeks along with a singleton after a successful IVF cycle. DH and I have male factor infertility and have g/g twins that are 3.5 from our first cycle. Because of what we've been through for establishing this pregnancy I'm much more anxious about it (despite having no real reason to worry other than the usual), so I think some camaraderie would be nice!

We did see our little one on ultrasound on Monday, and got to see a perfect measurement and perfect heartbeat. S/he is tucked away in the shadows pretty well so I'm looking forward to a clearer view at next week's scan. I think I'll feel much better then, though all is going seemingly well.

Looking forward to spending the next 3/4 of a year with you all! ;)
