Hi, all! :wave2:

I'm 27 weeks, due July 17th. This is our first (and probably only) child and we are so excited. We're having a little girl. I can't wait to meet her!

I look forward to sharing stories and swapping information with all of you.

Welcome!! TWINS!! How exciting! My cousin had twins. Was due in January some time but had them right before Christmas. Twins run in our family and I was terrified I'd end up with them! LOL!

Welcome and congratulations!! Love seeing IF/TTC graduates!! Took us 4 years for DS#2 and then we were surprised with DS#3! Hope you have a smooth and uneventful pregnancy! My birthday is October 18th. :)

Congrats and Welcome!! We are pretty close. I'm due August 25th! Can't wait to hear what you're having. Seems like everyone I know is having a boy!

COURTNEY: DH and I are just completely opposite when it comes to names. Even the "okay" names on our list, we like different ones better than others. The only name we both sorta agree on is Jake, which DS recommended. I'm just not 100% sold on it. Middle name will definitely be Vincent, after my grandpa that passed away almost a year ago.

I can't believe you are moving!! You brave woman!! Glad to hear you are feeling better, though. :)
This totally cracked me up! Jacob is one of the few names we agree on, I just have issues with its apparent popularity. Despite how popular it has apparently been, we know almost no Jacobs! I like Jake, too. I like Benjamin, DH hates it. The the other names are names we like, but don't love. DH comes up with names that are a little exotic for me if left to his own devices. By exotic, I'm talking less frequently heard Biblical names, like Abraham, Solomon, etc. I know that's not really the right word...maybe too formal? I'm not sure, but I like things a little simpler, though I do like Abe for Abraham, but I think that's more utilized for those of Jewish faith (may be wrong there). Ugh.

Moving definitely not fun...Our buyers are making us nutty and the people we are buying from are making us crazy, too. AND I can't get the loan processor to call me back in a timely manner. Ugh. I'm way too hormonal to deal with all of these people!

Jacob is one of ours but the popularity is stopping me as well!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Benjamin is one of our top names for a boy! Also, you don't hear Abraham very often, but I like it. Having a little Abe would be cute and definitely unique! Solomon is cool, too - he could be Sol.

Hi, hope everyone is doing well. We had our big ultrasound today and baby is very healthy and measuring right on (20 weeks today). And she's a girl! princess:

(also posted in my PTR here: Prince or Princess? , too tired to write much now, though)

It's been a long (but good) day and I'm exhausted, so goodnight!

HI :wave2:
I think I'll join you ladies for pregnancy advice / conversation. I've been hanging out a Baby Center for a couple of months but but I'm about over the drama and endless debating LOL
Anyway, I'm Amy! I'm currently 16 wks 5 days pregnant with my second. I have a 4 year old DD and we found out last weekend (at our gender reveal party) that this time we are having a boy! We are super excited! I had a miscarriage in August so we have been cautious this time around but everything looks good :goodvibes so we are finally able to relax a little and start planning for our son!

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome!! I lurk on Baby Center and WTE, but I always complain to my DH about how immature those women are on those boards! Drama filled, run to the ER for every little thing, complain about what they can't get for free...OMG. Drives me nuts!! Yay for your boy! I'm having my 3rd boy!!

______

Well, I think we've decided on Gavin as the name. :) It wasn't my or DH's first or even second pick, but at least it's something we both agree on, Colin (our oldest) likes it and I think it goes well with Colin and Liam.

Not much new going on. Baby is very active, which is very comforting! I go for my monthly appointment next week. Sent my Dr. my first two weeks worth of glucose readings and she was happy with them. I only had two really high readings, and both of those came when I ate stuff I shouldn't have. Hoping I can keep it up and avoid meds!. Still don't regret my decision to just check my blood 4x a day and avoid doing that glucose test! LOL!

We switched the kids' rooms this weekend. Colin (our 9yo) had the bigger of the two bedrooms, so we gave him the smaller bedroom so Liam (14 mths) and the baby can share a room. Colin was great about it and seems pretty excited about his new room. He's old enough to understand the benefits of having his own room, even if it is smaller. I actually like the layout of his new room better than the old. Liam seems to have adjusted fine to the new room as well. Glad to have that out of the way!

Congratulations JLiz, Dugette and amyren on your little bundles! :dance3:

We just had our midwife appointment yesterday and all was well, thank God! Our little girl (we are naming her Devri Rose) is 28 weeks and 5 days, and heart rate is 145. She is still active as ever! Funny how she is always hiccuping when our midwife runs the doppler on my tummy! Of course, I have been hiccuping quite a bit too - wonder if that has anything to do with it?

She is still head up (way up into my rib cage sometimes - ouch!) and I am hoping she will turn soon. But in any case, my hubby and I are thrilled she is thriving! I love that he has started talking to her through my tummy - so sweet it makes me want to cry!

I had my regular, monthly appointment today with the doctor. He told me our little peanut is in a breach position so we need to schedule a c-section. He said she still has plenty of time to turn (12 more weeks to go) but the sooner we schedule the better so we can get an early morning O.R. time.

My ultimate goal is to have a healthy baby and a healthy me so if the only way to do that is a c-section, so be it! I mean, this is why I chose a traditional ob/gyn and hospital birth. But, I can't help but feel a little disappointed that I might not have a ******l birth.

Anyone else feel/felt this way?

I actually talked to the dr about our delivery options at my appt last friday.

I was told by a "friend of a friend" that I would have a hard time finding a dr who would allow me to even try to deliver twins ******lly.

Dr said he is fine with it as long as both are in the correct position. At first I was excited but now I'm a little worried. The dr mentioned that occasionally the 2nd baby will turn and then we could be faced with an emergency C-section...which I don't want.

So I'm wondering if it will be better just to go ahead & scheduled a planned C-section. Then I won't have to worry about the "what-if's", KWIM? My recovery time with DD was just so easy with ******l delivery. I was hoping it would be that way again.

Other than that, our appointment went great. Babies are both measuring a little big. I was 12 weeks, 4 days at my appointment & they were measuring 13 wks, 4 days. I wonder if that is common with IVF? Heartrates were 158 & 160, so happy with that. 7 weeks until our next ultrasound & we find out the gender :cool1:

Other than that, I'm feeling very pregnant. Nausea is slowly going away, now I'm just throwing up every couple of days...thats new for me. I've lost 8 lbs since becoming pregnant. Oh & the headaches are starting....I had forgotten about those.:headache:

I'm already showing, can't wait until I can feel them moving!

First, there is nothing wrong with having a c-section. Your birth will be magical, however it's done. You should not feel bad because you are doing what's best for your baby. Second, although it may seem wrong to schedule a c-section (especially since you're still far enough out that the baby could easily turn in the interim) it's a better situation then having to have emergency surgery after trying to push the baby out.

Personally, I don't care how my baby is born. I guess I'll try to avoid the c-section, because avoiding major surgery is generally a good tactic, but I have never romanticized a "natural" birth. I was c-sectioned because I was breach. My husband was c-sectioned because he was very large. Our mothers had perfectly normal, non-traumatic birth stories. We grew up just fine.

what a pretty name! my little princess is very active too! I hear it's a girl thing. And she's been getting the hiccups DAILY for the past couple of weeks. It feels so funny huh?!

hope your peanut turns soon! I totally agree, healthy baby is the goal so if I need a c-section then so be it. But still crossing my fingers for "normal" delivery -- (since DIS wants to blurb out the other word. LOL)

lots of people do it! you can too! May I ask how tall you are? I'm only 5 feet tall so they had said if I'd had twins I would almost be a shoo-in for csection. LOL

I haven't heard about babies measuring ahead with IVF. It sounds like you just have some very healthy little ones in there!! It also could always be tech error. Just see what they say at your next ultrasound. I'm sure there's no cause for worry...rather have bigger babies than underweight ones :thumbsup2 Sounds like you're doing everything right!

I lost weight until my 16th week. I lost about 6 pounds. My dr was not concerned, as that happens with so many women. Then I finally started gaining but she did say I hadn't gained enough. Since my last appointment I've tried stepping up my game a little bit on calories, although she said "as long as the baby is doing well, then it's fine. Some women just don't gain as much. So we'll keep a close eye on the baby if you continue not to gain too much" I gained 2 pounds in a month so I guess that wasn't enough.

I would think you'll feel them pretty soon! :goodvibes

I had my 36 week appointment today and things are still going well. Baby girl is fully engaged and I've been having irregular painful contractions in the afternoon/evenings for the last few days, so my doctor is convinced that this baby will be early (and fast! - my first baby was less than 5 hours from start to finish, so everyone keeps telling me to be ready to go to the hospital at a moment's notice). I don't like hearing that because we still have a week until we close on our new house and we won't be moved in until May 7th. :scared1: All of my baby gear is in storage with the moving company, so it would be a big scramble if I have the baby in the next 2 weeks. I'm hoping she holds out until 38 weeks!

I don't want to unnecessarily scare you or anything, but I have a friend who had exactly that happen. She was in labor for 27 hours with her twins, gave birth to the first twin.... and then the second baby flipped and she had to have an emergency c-section. :scared1: I don't know how common it is, though, or whether some horror stories just exist to scare twin moms. Personally, I would still try for the v-birth if everything is looking good up until that point.

Thanks, everyone! We are so excited to meet our little princess in September!

I had my regular, monthly appointment today with the doctor. He told me our little peanut is in a breach position so we need to schedule a c-section. He said she still has plenty of time to turn (12 more weeks to go) but the sooner we schedule the better so we can get an early morning O.R. time.
I can't say I know a lot about these things, but I was talking with my mom recently and she told me that I was breech at her 8 month appointment, so the doctor turned me. I've read that this procedure can hurt, but she doesn't remember it being painful at all...maybe I was just an incredibly cooperative baby, I don't know :rotfl: Hopefully your little one will turn on her own, but if not, maybe this is an option? Good luck!

my little princess is very active too! I hear it's a girl thing.
That's interesting. This baby has been super active during ultrasounds and even when trying to check heart rate with the doppler...always flipping around. I've never heard about it being a girl thing, but if so, she sure fits the mold. I've only just started (barely) feeling her, so I'm sure I'll be well aware of how active she is pretty soon...looking forward to it!

I'm 5'7"... so I think there is plenty of room. I keep going back & forth between wanting to try a vag birth or just scheduling a c-section out of fear that something will happen. We have plenty of time to wait & see.

I hope she stays put for you for a few more weeks! Wow, you had a quick labor! My DD came right at 38 weeks & was 19 hours from start to finish.

Your friend's story, that is the exact thing that makes me think we should go ahead & schedule a c-section. The main goal is healthy babies, and healthy me after this is all over with.... the Dr mentioned that sometimes they will flip, or sometimes the stress will make their heart rate drop so they will do an emergency C-section.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Its pretty here in Nashville today so I think we will be heading to the park for a picnic lunch :thumbsup2

This is exactly why I was a scheduled section with my girls. I don't remember the statistic, but I remember it being way too likely for my liking. The last thing I wanted was to labor, delivery ******lly, then also recover from somewhat major surgery.

I know some people have particular visions about how birth will go, but if recovery is the biggest factor in your hesitation, I will say that I don't think it's that bad. Of course, I have nothing to compare it to, but I was up and feeling pretty good after both of my sections. So for me, weighing the pros and cons, the "what ifs" (and subsequent worry about them) far outweighed the concern of a scheduled, controlled section.

Good luck to you on your decision!

Also... this happened :)
