Oooo yippee! Team Blue or Team Pink either way we are gonna cheer! I too am practicle. I'm glad I found out. I have to say that our poor boys get quite the bum rap when it comes to the cutie clothes but looks like our boy is gonna be a rocker cow boy look and to boot it's so hard to find cute clothes right now for October and not knowing whether the baby is going to be a big boy or not is kinda the adventure. I think I'm going to go for the onsies and swaddlers when I get home and that should cover bases (ESK being positive here) If I don't get over myself this poor child will have nothing to play with or to survive and we will be rushing at the last minute

We are going with a sports theme with AJ but thats b/c we are HUGE sports fan...now watch him turn out to HATE sports when he gets older...lol. DH's almost 18 yr old son really doesn't have any interest for sports, he is more into art and music but 1) my Dh didn't raise him as his mom lives in CO and she was remarried most of DSS's growing up years and 2) DH toured with a band out of Austin for 7 yrs and then had a garage type band in SC.

So we've bought some stuff for the room and lots of cute clothes for AJ, and I have bought several packs of diapers already. Whenever I see a good sale and have coupons, I am there!

Happy Friday, ladies!!

Just wanted to pass along that I got my letter from my OB saying all was fine and we are not at an elevated risk for any of the disorders/chronosomal abnormalities (are either of those the right words?)!!! Whoo hoo!

Ok, had a scare. I got up Wednesday from a chair and I had such a shooting abdominal pain it doubled me over and took my breath away. I've had slight cramping on and off since then. No spotting or bleeding though and I listened to the hb on the doppler Wednesday night and all seemed ok. I did call my doc yesterday and they said just watch it. Hoping all is okay.

Other than that, it is Teacher Appreciation Week and oh my, the goodies! We keep getting candy and luncheons. Not that I am complaining but I am probably gaining so much weight...blech!

Went out for Mexican last night! An hour wait!! But no margaritas for me. I'll have to have virgin margaritas at home. Stinks! But again, it is definitely worth it!

Ok, I thought I had more to tell you guys but I can't remember it. 15 more days of school for the kids (after today)! 16 for us! Whoo hoo!!!

Hi Ladies! I am 10 weeks pregnant with my first baby and we are so excited! I posted a thread yesterday but didn't get any action so I thought I'd join this thread and ask here. Due to my job, I'll be having my shower incredibly early (mid-August when I'm due December 1). My mom wants to start planning as soon as possible. We want to have a family shower not just a traditional "women only" event. We have lots of single guy friends and family with young children who we wouldn't want to leave out. How can I word the invitations (poem would be fine too) to make it clear that everyone is invited? We'd also like to do the "building a library" thing too. Any help would be awesome!

I understand the scarey cramping. That's no fun at all but good for you for checking. I have found that when I get a stiff cramp it usually rolls through out my tummy and about 15 mins later. . . well yep I have to pass gas. Thank goodness I'm not to far from the bathroom at work! I felt pretty bad cramping last saturday while walking around and my tummy actually expanded! It was so strange. My dr. said, when I asked on Tuesday, that I could have been over doing it and that I should listen to my body and relax for a while if I can. He also told me to call if it was any worse.

I'm looking foward to shopping in Disney for the Bean as well! We are thinking about names. Mike is pretty set on Declan and I'm between Declan and Dylan. He says Dylan reminds him of Bob Dylan. . . sheesh So last night we desided that when we see him we will know. We are going to keep the names between us though, well, and all of u now

Hi! I'm not pregnant anymore, but still lurk on this thread. I just had my second baby on January 28th. My older son is 7 years old. I had two baby showers for the new baby....one with family and one at work. I wasn't at my current employer when I had my first son, so they were all very excited to give me a shower. My family shower, I had a much smaller guest list than I had for my older son...just close family and friends.

I felt a bit uncomfortable about it at first, but everyone really wanted to do it. I enjoyed them both and they helped get us ready for a new baby as well. I kept some of the bigger items from our older son, but I didn't keep any clothes, bibs, burp clothes, etc. Also, all of our old bottles we had to throw out because of the BPA stuff. There was more stuff that we needed and didn't have than I realized. I was very thankful for our two showers.

I also had my baby February 4 (which I haven't even had a chance to post all this because it has been so crazy), and that was my first, but my sister had 2 boys and we did a small shower for the second one since they boys were 6 years apart.

Is there a thread for new mommies? I've found the toddler one, but nothing for something with smaller babies.

Thanks for asking...it has been a heck of a week.

Monday was my NST....also got back the results of my 24hour urine (the 2nd one) and my protien was 497 and my creatine was 2.0. I saw the nurse, she told the dr and I left.

Thurs was another NST and my 2nd internal. The dr mentioned he was concerned that the baby was having some decels with the contracitons I was having (I've been have irregular ctx since LAST thurs). Checked me, I was still only a fingertip and LONG. Then he tells me he is sending me over to L&D for more monitoring but they would most likey keep me, induce me, but because the baby wasn't tolerating natural mild ctx he doubt it would tolerate induced ctx and I would most likely end up with an emergency c-sention. SO I rallied the troops...arranged for someone to get the boys from school, called DH, called my mom, but told them both to wait a hour to see what L&D has to say.

Thankfully they waited as L&D said everyhtign looked ok and sent me home!!!!

My dr called me friday and told me he has scheduled my induction for Fri, the 13th, with me going in for Cytotec the night before, which doesn't thrill me, so DH and I started DTD to get me to 'open up'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is my last day of work!!!! And my supervisor, who is also my BF and this baby's godmother, called to tell me I bonused last month...to the tune of an extra $756!!!!!!!!!!!

It was weird...the horrible pain wasn't cramping...it was probably round ligament pain. But then I just had the mild cramping afterwards. I'm fine now but I am wondering when I will start feeling movement. Hoping it is any moment now!

Have fun shopping in Disney. I have so enjoyed shopping for AJ. I really have mostly been buying clearance winter clothes. I have seen so many cute spring/summer clothes but we won't need those until AJ is close to 6 months old, so I am forcing myself to wait until that stuff goes on clerance at the end of the summer! I am still buying diapers when they are on sale and I have a coupon. I bought two boxes yesterday at Target b/c I have 2 $3 off coupons, a $5 gift card from their last diaper promotion (buy 3 small packs get the g/c last week) and a $15 g/c from a student for Teacher's Appreciation. Plus their promotion this week was buy the two boxes and get another $5 g/c. So far I have only bought Huggies b/c those are the coupons I had. Next week, their promotion is buy two of their bran dboxes of diapers and get a $5 g/c. I already have 2 coupons for that promotion, plus the $5 g/c I go tthis week. Yes, I have been extremem diaper couponing...lol! I think I have enough newborn and size 1's for now, so its onto the bigger sizes, I think. Plus, I'm sure I'll get some at showers and stuff.

Love the names! I like how you will decide for certain when you see him. For us, Chad pretty much knew what he wanted and I knew which name he had said that I preferred so it worked out to go ahead and decide. Its nice to be able to call him by his name, as well. And sign cards from him such as a birthday card to a friend's daughter yesterday and a Mother's Day card to my mom today.

I have been pretty darn tired recently. It doesn't help that the young lady has been throwing massive Dance Parties late at night. I was telling DH it feels like the baby is at a Rave in there. The running joke is that I must have eaten some glow sticks, techno CD's, and hallucinogens and she is just partying. I can sleep through her smaller movements, but when she goes into super-crazy-dance-baby mode I can't sleep! Since she is fairly big now it starts to hurt. Of course, DH has another theory "We should throw our own dance party! Pretend we think it is cool, then she will hate doing it". So we have taken to walking around the apartment and breaking into random dance. If nothing else it makes me laugh! Last night she was quieter than the last two nights... so maybe his theory is working.

I have been doing a little more cooking. This week I added Calzones, Spanakopita, and Split Pea soup to the freezer. I am almost done! I need to organize Charlie's room and will spend a good bit of tomorrow doing baby laundry and organizing. I just can't believe everything is so close!

My mom and Dad were in town this past weekend and we took my Mom out to a nice dinner for Mother's Day. It was nice for DH and I to be able to treat them to a nice dinner for once. The whole time I was in school they would treat us, so now we got to flip. We went out to the Melting Pot since it is one of my Mom's favorite places that she rarely gets to go to. Earlier that day we had hit the Farmers Market and a bunch of garage sales as my community had their bi-annual community garage sale day.

Sunday I woke up to DH giving me my first mothers day Card. Very sweet! After that we did did some cooking and then headed over to Epcot to hand out with our friends J & K and their daughter. All in all a pretty great day.

I think our babies are going to the same Rave Party! Mine sleeps most of the day, and parties ALL NIGHT. The other night, she woke me up at 3:45am! Kicking and flipping and going nuts!



It's been a long while since I've updated...

I had a little bit of a mini-scare last week. I was going to the bathroom, and by chance, happened to look at the toilet paper after I wiped, and saw a rice shaped piece of tissue/clot. There was absolutely no other blood AT ALL, and if I hadn't looked, I wouldn't have noticed it. The same thing happened the next morning. No blood, just this piece of tissue/clot.

I didn't tell DH, because he tends to FREAK OUT.

I wasn't having any cramping, but I WAS growing (my uterus) and it came and went. I chalk it up to the terrible cold I had a week or so beforehand, perhaps my excessive coughing ruptured a blood vessel and caused some cervical bleeding, it clotted, and as my uterus stretched, it expelled.

I've been 100% ever since.

We decided on June 11th for my shower, and we are having it in our backyard. I hope it's a perfect day!

I leave for Florida next weekend, and I am SO EXCITED!

My last day of work is TOMORROW!!!

I LOVED the onsies!!! I had every intention of 'paint a bib' at my shower, at least for the kids to do, but totally forgot to set it up!!! Opps!
I hear ya on the dance party at night...I call this Little one a lil Irwin (as in Steve and Terry), becuase it feels like it is wrestling with an alligator in there some nights!

I had a shower with my 1st, 7+ years ago, my 2nd came 14 months later so no shower and sprinkles were unheard of. This one my 2 BFF and mom threw me a shower, which I was so thankful for as we had given away a lot of the baby stuff, and some of it really wasn't worth saving after 2 kids! I work at a totally different place and really have a lot of new friends, so the only people who were there that were at my 1st were my family! I say let them throw you one if they like!

Welcome!!!! I too had an early shower. This lil one is due at the end of the month, but my shower was at the end of Feb...starting the 1st weekend of March I started working weekends only so the shower had to be then if they wanted me there!

Are you going to WDW.......JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!! We found out about 2 weeks before our trip that Iwas preggo with this one. DH says it will be a LONG time until we go back (the house needs a roof 1st) but I do want to go back before Cody (my oldest) turns 10, since he will still count as a 'child' and the baby will still be free, but we will see!!! Enjoy your trip!

My friend had her baby, a lil girl, Sophia. She was 1+ pounds...so tiny! But she is doing ok...she was on CPAP at 1st and now seems to only be on oxygen (from the pictures I see). I imagine she will be in a few more weeks, but all seems to be ok!!!

Last week they sent me home with another 24 hour urine jug...my protien had been almost 500 the week beofre (they want it under 300). So Friday into Sat I did the stupid jug...dropped it off before work and had a slew of labs done. I went in Mon for my NST, asked about the labs and here the hospital never added the urine test that they needed...it was on the script, but they never entered it!! UGH! My other labs came back off as well (my potassium was only 3, which is low, as was my sodium.) but they said they will recheck them when I am admitted.

This week has been soooooooooo long. I finished work this past weekend, although I have some paperwork to finish up tonight. I am so happy to be off for a few weeks!!!!! I have had more and more trouble walking, getting up from sitting and so on, but I have been pluggin along! Friday I ahd a massage, Monday I went for a pedicure, and today I went and got my hair done!!! Felt nice to treat myself, but a lil sad knowing this will be the last time for a long time! I even managed to clean the boys' room tonihgt!
I have an appt tomorrow for my last NST and cervical check...if I am no more dilated, I will be going in tomorrow night, if I am then Fri morning. We have childcare set for the boys (my stepmom is coming over tomorrow night to be with them and take them to school). DH asked me yesterday who I have watching them this weekend.....which is what he told me he would work on!!! UGH! But I told him, bring the boys to the hospital in the morning after b'fast, then again after dinner, other than that go home and let them play and rest, which will allow me to rest!!! hehe!
