Okay here is Jakes nursery thus far. Im so indecisive with decor (maybe because i love to decorate) so this may change up a bit in the next 4 wks or so. It probably all depends on how fast this little one comes...

I really like it Maggie! I love the colors you chose, it all looks great together.

Wow the nursery looks great! Looks like were going to have some new babies around here soon! Had my 27/28 week appt today. Doctor said that 2lb 3oz was normal (thanks to all who replied!) but on the bigger side of normal and that I'm also measuring a week big, so she said it wasn't a problem, but that they are going to keep a watch on it. Evan cooperated this time and let us listen to his heart, but not without first kicking the doppler haha!.

I'm so happy to have the gestational diabetes test over with and I'm praying that I passed. They said they would call only if I failed so here's hoping I passed. The hospital really needs to get more flavors, I don't think it would have been so bad if I didn't have to drink orange.

We painted Evan's room this past weekend and I'm hoping to have everything up and assembled soon so I'll post pictures when I can.

Hope everyone is well!

Just popping in to say hello to everyone!

Maggie, the nursery looks AWESOME. Ya'll did a really great job with that. I love the colors, they work really well together. And I may be a little biased but I love the name Jake too ;):thumbsup2

Melissa, you must be so excited to know your little guy is going to be here so soon! I'm very happy for you. Hang in there! I know the last week waiting is THE hardest. The anticipation is crazy! But enjoy it...I NEVER thought I would miss being pregnant but you really do. Even though you finally have your baby with you after all the waiting you do have moments where you miss feeling them kick and move around inside of you. Enjoy it while you can :thumbsup2

Adi, I can't wait to see the pictures from your 4d...those are the coolest!

Had my weekly checkup today too.. Turned in our birth plan (they have a booklet that you fill in the blank type thing) and found out I can keep my contacts in as long as possible. ( ) Still no idea on if I'm dialated or not - internals don't start for me until 38 weeks. My file is officially going over to the hospital's birth center, and we still don't have insurance. Grrr... Hopefully by tomorrow we'll know something.

Maggie, your nursery is gorgeous! If you don't have a babybook yet and are looking for one, we just ordered one that matches your nursery almost perfectly. Let me know if you want the link. So exciting that Jake will be here so soon!

Kristen, when I did my test with my regular doctor I got to pick my flavor and they had fruit punch, but when I did the one two days later (first one came back a bit high but we had just come back from vacation so she had me do the 3 hour test) the lab only had the orange. The fruit punch was SOOOOO much easier to drink! Can't wait to see pics of your nursery!

Adi, good luck finding a house! That has got to be stressful! I can't even imagine! Can't wait to see your 4D pics!

Hi yellowfish! I am praying for ya with your insurance mess!

We are mostly done with our nursery, not completely, but its looking really good. For some reason it feels really crowded though. I'll post a couple of "in progress" pics.

I can't wait for it to all be finished!

And lurk away! As you know, I sometimes lurk on the new moms thread even though I still have awhile to go. I figure I may as well prepare myself for all those things I've forgotten in 3 years!

Adi - Can't wait to see the photos from your ultrasound! I hated it when my kids were quiet for awhile too, it really scares you! Oh, and Madison wore her shirt on our trip last week so she could show all her friends in the kids club that she's going to be the biggest sister. I have some new, better photos, just need to upload them. I'll see if I can get my husband to do it tonight, otherwise I'll just do it on the other computer that I know will work.

I lurk over on the new mom's board too - lol.

I'm still so tickles she loves the shirt :) Can't wait to seethe newer pictures :)
Can't wait for the u/s either - can't wait to see how she has changed. . . and just see her too :)

First of all I LOVE IT!!! And second, I am so jealous. We are going to look at a couple of houses this weekend, so I am praying we get a house this month, so we can close next month and then if NOTHING ELSE do the baby's room. I am DYING to get her nursery set up.

Adi, good luck finding a house! That has got to be stressful! I can't even imagine! Can't wait to see your 4D pics!

Thanks for the good luck - we sure need it!! I thought it would be so much easier in this market, but alas that is not the case.

I really like your nursery too - SO ORIGINAL!! Love the dragons!

Thanks girls for all the compliments.

Linzy- Love the nursery too!! Id love the link to the baby book. I did get one but its not like the one I have been wanting.

If any of the new mommy's are still around-- did anyone have worries that you wouldnt progress at all on your own-- and then in turn wouldn't be a good candidate for an induction? I know I still have a little 3 and a half weeks left to do SOMETHING-- but ive started worrying now that ill go to 40wks+, not dialate or drop... and then have to go through the full blown trying for an induction and hoping it takes with oxytocin and all that other mumbo jumbo. I wouldnt care to be induced... at all... and my dr says she will do that for me at 39wks (so a little over 2 weeks)... but I fear maybe my body wont do anything. I know-- irrational fears right? LOL... i guess when you sit around and have nothing else better to worry about- you find something!

I never worried that I wouldn't progress. I guess I never thought to worry about that.
Have they started doing internals for you? If not, when will they start?

It's completely and totally normal for first time moms to NOT progress as soon as moms who have already had kids. I knew, though, that I was going to be induced at 39wks reguardless of my progress (which is why I moved my "due date" up so many months ago) because of Lucas' size.
There are things they will do- I hadn't progressed much at all when we scheduled the induction and so we were planning on my going in the night before to get cervadil (I think thats the name? not cytotec, the other gel-like stuff) on my cervix all night to prepare for the next morning. Three days later I went back in and I was 90% effaced and 3cm... you just never know!! That stuff is known to REALLY help. It's not like they'll hook you up to Pitocin with absolutely nothing going on down there.

Start eating the fresh pineapple and go for a walk if it's not too hot!

Good luck!

I didn't worry about it because my doctor would have never scheduled an induction for me if I hadn't already started progressing on my own. I was already 2 cm 30% effaced at 36 wks so she said if I wanted to be induced at 39 wks it would be okay. If I had made no progress though, she said she would have just had me wait it out. I got lucky and the morning of my scheduled induction my water broke on its own and I was already 4 cm. and 50 % effaced.

You just never know how your body is going to progress. You can certainly do things to help it along though and walking is always the best thing for that. Good luck!

TY veronica and patsy!

You are saying exactly what im saying. Theres no way you can be induced (or i should rather say, SHOULD) if you havent progressed at all. My worry is that ill never progress--lol!

Patsy- I had my first internal done at 34wks... im 36wks now and still nothing. I know its early in the game... Thus far though I havent progressed at all. I suppose my worry is more for the future. I wonder what does happen when people's bodies don't naturally work for them and 41weeks comes along, baby is still nice and cozy-- and an induction isnt really in sight. I guess they could do what they did to you, patsy, and use the gel.

Oh well-- thats the worry wart in me. It didnt help that i was watching TLC's Birth Day yesterday and it was all about induction...

Not sure if you are interested in some "natural" cervix softners, but my midwife will use rose hip oil - 500 mg - taken both orally and inserted into the V. . . daily. You can probably do some research on it.

Also semen is supposed to help, if you feel up to that ;)

I totally understand how you feel! The last few weeks are THE hardest and the waiting just kills you. Just keep in mind, no one can stay pregnant forever :lmao: That baby will come out sooner than you think whether he likes it or not! Try not to stress yourself out over it though. Another thing I learned is that if you keep yourself busy and try not to think about your lack of progression it makes the time pass much more quickly! And relaxing may also allow your body to do what it's gotta do. (Yet another reason why I felt like I needed the epidural ;))

Don't worry, your little guy will be here before you know it and pretty soon you'll be wondering where the time went!

Cathy had her one hour test last Thursday. She got a 140, 'failing' by one point. She took the three hour on Monday (requiring six 'sticks, but that's a different story). She was soooo stressed that she would not pass, but she did so all is good.

BTW, she had the fruit punch for the 1 hour and orange for the 3 hour. She was also not impressed with the nasty orange.

I worried when my OB scheduled an induction for me before I had dilated any, but at my appointment with him on the day of the induction I was at a 1-2 and he told me he would have cancelled it had I not made any progress. Instead, I went in at Midnight for Cytotec to soften my cervix (they used Cervidil on my first one, it didn't work nearly as well) and started Pitocin at 6:30 or so the next morning. She was born just a couple of hours later, so all went well with that. :) It will be fine!

I was supposed to be induced with my son and my induction would have started with Cervidil overnight as well. In my case, my induction was medically necessary so happening whether or not I had progressed, and in fact, like I know I have said many times, my dr doesn't do internal exams, so he would have had no idea if I were dilated at all anyway. We set the induction date for 38 weeks when I was 35 weeks and he told me I didn't need to come back and see him again after that, just show up at the hospital.

Now, the induction never took place, so I don't know what would have happened, but my dr seemed confident that it would have worked just fine that way so I would think you'd be okay. If you're concerned though, just skip the 39 weeks induction and see what happens. Maybe you'll make progress between 39-40 weeks or even go into labor on your own and avoid the worry.

I really like the dragon theme nursery Linzybrooke, and my son would too (he LOVES dragons) so I think it'll be a great theme for your little guy!

Adi - I hope the house hunting goes well, and better than it is. I feel for you cause we were in the same position with our kids and will sort of be again with this one. My first we lived in a tiny condo so we didn't really have a nursery-her dresser had to go in our room, and her changing station was set up on my dresser also in my room. With my son we moved 2 months before he was born so it was a frantic time of moving, unpacking, trying to set up the crib and the rest of the baby stuff. This time we'll be moving when this baby is 6 months old so I don't think I'll even bother setting anything up. I know from my last 2 kids that we won't use the crib at all till around 6 month or so, so no need for me to drag that here from my mom's house (5 hours away), only to set it up, leave it empty, then unassemble it, move it, reassemble it, etc. And so there go my thoughts of getting bedding and a theme together in advance too. I'll likely just use the bedding I got for my son when he was 1yo since he barely used it, but I would love to paint and have the room match it and stuff, but that really needs to wait till we move.

Oh well, enough ranting from me! My son is napping so I think I might join him before I pick up my daughter and her friend for a playdate. I really want to go to the pool with them, but know they friend will complain that she wants to play in my house so I'll likely be back here.

Guh, right now I would be so happy to have my headaches gone! Part of me wonders if they are stress from not sleeping Yes, I know I posted back about finally able to sleep. Not so much. Lasted about a week! If something wakes me up in the middle of the night, which is most nights, it takes me at least an hour if not more to fall back asleep. So now I have been living with headaches on and off for a few days now. So annoying!

BabyTigger, I had BAD headaches around 16 weeks with my daughter and again last week with this one. In both instances, the headaches coincided with a significant decrease in my morning sickness so my dr said they were likely from my hormone levels changing. Since you're around the same point, I'd bet that's what it is. Unfortunately, nothing worked to get rid of them. I tried Tylenol but no luck and I didn't want to take too much, but no amount seemed to work. It was so frustrating so I really feel for you! If it helps at all, they lasted about 10 days for me and then resolved on their own so hopefully you're on your way out.

Well, it doesn't coincide with decrease in morning sickness, since, THANK THE LORD, I did not have any!!:cool1:

I have been blaming it on the weather, because Mother Nature is bi-polar, one day hot, one day cool. Could be hormones. Who knows. They suck. Makes me crabby. Then again, I am crabby a lot lately!!!

Well apparently we have insurance again according to his work. But I call the insurance company and we don't. They mentioned to wait for a computer upgrade on their side. So I'll call again tomorrow. And then Monday...

I remember having three-four days worth of migraines...only way they'd go away was to go lay in down in a dark, cold room with a blanket.

Off to go fold some baby clothes! (How do you guys what to hang and what to fold?!?)
