Moms to Be Part 3

Well I had my first internal today and I wasn't expecting anything but it turns out I am 2 cm dilated and 30% effaced. In my doctor's words..."looks like we may have a July baby on our hands!" :scared1:

As soon as she told me I am 2 cm I was a little freaked...my cousin that just had her baby in May was told she was 2 cm at 37 weeks and 2 days later she went into labor. Looks like Jake may be here sooner than I thought! Then again, it could still be a few more weeks till he decides to make an appearance. Guess the waiting game has officially started!

Yay!...I was 1 cm and 60% effaced, so I guess I am further along than I thought...

Had my 3D/4D today. . . here she is (still saying it is a girl, yeay! I check everytime, lol).

Sorry it is so many, I got a CD with over 100 pictures, and it was hard enough to narrow tit down to this!

Aww, Adi she's super cute! It looks like she's smiling for you in a couple of them! Aren't the 4-D ultrasounds awesome? I loved having mine done. It was definitely worth every penny :goodvibes

So I'm 99.9 % sure I lost my mucus plug today. It was really gross too. I assume it was the mucus plug because well...what else could look like that? Sorry if I gross anyone out with my terminology but it honestly looked like a big wad of boogers :scared: Does that sound right? I need some feedback from those of you who have been through this before. I don't know what's going on! :lmao:

That sounds absolutely right. I remember the first one I lost and "really gross" sums it up perfectly.

Hi! I am not sure if it is too soon to be joining this thread. I am 5 1/2 weeks along, and being superstitious this makes me a little nervous. I have been on the TTC thread for a while, and have really enjoyed the support and company of all the women there. This is our first baby, and I will no doubt have a ton questions as this pregnancy goes along. Best wishes to everyone here, and I hope to stay with you all for the next 30+ weeks!

It really did gross me out! But yeah, the more I read about it online and in the pregnancy books I have it made me sure that it was my mucus plug that came out. I know that doesn't mean labor is imminent but it definitely means my body is getting ready for this baby to come out. Kinda scary!

And welcome chloelovesdisney! Many congrats to you on your little bundle of joy and we are all here for you :grouphug:

Nope, not too soon!! Welcome!!!! Congrats!!

Since I spent Thurs. whining about my shower drama, I thought I would at least update about the actual party. In a nutshell, no one from church was there at all. However, my family and many people from the church I attended four years ago were there. We had a lot of fun. My oldest DD and her friends organized the games, did most of the serving, and watched the little kids which was very nice. I got two huge cases of wipes plus two packages of them. I got one package of newborn diapers (which is all I need, my kids have all been around 8 lbs. at birth and gain quickly), two packages of Size 1, and a case plus a package of Size 2's. I almost wondered if I should go trade one of the Size 1's for a Size 2, but DH pointed out that we don't know yet how fast this little girl is going to grow and that we should probably hang onto it *just in case.* I got several cute onsies, some towels and washclothes (which I really needed-the ones that went through four kids in six years had gotten pretty nasty and had been given to my DD's for doll blankets), and a few cute outfits too. All in all it was a nice evening. And when I woke up too tired to do anything this morning, the decision to skip church and get more rest was that much easier to make. ;)

Just wanted to give an update so the list would be complete! I had my baby on July 7th at 10:31pm. Ainsley Elizabeth weighed in at 6 pounds 11 ounces. She's beautiful!

I was induced a week before my due date due to suspected low fluids. Of course when they broke my water there was a ton! We barely avoided a c-section due to her being face up and crooked. They used a vacume and got her out safely and quickly.

Sorry so small. This picture was taken when we were still in the hospital (the thing on her head is her IV port). She smiles a lot but usually when her eyes are closed. We have been trying to get an eyes open picture but she doesn't like the flash.

on that note.... a question to you all... how early did you start buying things? and setting up your nursery? just curious

Congratulations! What a beautiful name! I'm glad all is well with both of you.

She is precious! My nephew wasn't a fan of opening his eyes for pictures either as a newborn. He eventually got over it. (He just turned one.)

We started buying a few things pretty early on, but didn't really get into it until about twelve weeks. We have everything for the nursery picked out, but haven't actually ordered the furniture yet. We'll do that in the next week or so.

We didn't want to start on actually setting up the nursery until we were pretty much certain that we weren't going to 'have a problem'. The last thing we needed was a cute nursery and no baby. Now that we are at 21 weeks, we are starting to feel pretty confident (although Cathy still gets freakishly stressed out with worry from time to time), so we are going to get on the nursery.

WELCOME!! Like Veronica said, we are here for you :grouphug: Also, ask away, many of us are just learning together :)

Glad to hear it went well!! Sorry no one from your church was there, but still glad you had a good time!! Good for you for resting when you needed it!

Umm...how did my name get so far up this list. I swear I was at the bottom just a few weeks ago. I'm sitting here typing this next to piles of baby clothes that still need to be washed and put away, a crib that still needs to be put together, and a closet with an unpacked suitcase in it. YIKES!

Congrats goodeats!

GatorMickey - Your little girl is adorable! I love how she's smiling in the photo.

Welcome Chloe! It's nice to see someone else from the TTC board over here. I love hearing good news from that thread and I hope we have some more additions soon. I was sorta nervous about joining this thread in the beginning too, but figured I could use all the support I could get in the event something happened.

I guessed on your due date (and hulagirl, you too), so let me know what the actual date is and I'll update the list.

HomeSweetDisney - Yea on losing your mucous plug! Makes baby day seem much closer! I can't help with identification cause I really don't know what happened with my kids. With the 1st I did have bleeding and stuff when I went into labor, but not until I was actively contracting for hours. And with my son I must have lost it and never noticed (hard as that is to believe) cause my water broke at 36 weeks with him, so I would think the plug had to be gone for that to occur, right?

Buying baby stuff, hmm, with my 1st we had sort of been accumulating things before she was even conceived so I guess right from the beginning. With the 2nd I remember buying one outfit that was on sale at Gymboree and a bouncy seat when I was like 4+ weeks, but then nothing else till we knew he was a boy.

Melessa - Glad you enjoyed your shower, even without the church friends.

Adi - Love the ultrasound photos! We had a 4D done with my daughter, but not my son, and you're making me want to go again with this one cause those pictures are great!

We're back from our trip and though yesterday went okay during the day, it was a rough night and basically today was the same all day. I wish I could just fast forward through the next 8 weeks. And now my husband is annoying me which is really helping my mood a ton.
