Moms to Be Part 3

Umm...how did my name get so far up this list. I swear I was at the bottom just a few weeks ago. I'm sitting here typing this next to piles of baby clothes that still need to be washed and put away, a crib that still needs to be put together, and a closet with an unpacked suitcase in it. YIKES!

If it makes you feel better, I deleted a couple of people who were way past due and hadn't posted on here in a long time. Figured those of you who are nearing the end deserve your chance at the top of the list!

Thanks Boltsfan for the welcome! I think I am due March 10th, but will let you know after I see the doctor on Tuesday.

I'm not ready either...the crib isn't put together, the floors still need finished, the walls need painted...

I'm right there with you! I still have to wash all his bedding and I have a crap load of recieving blankets and stuff that need to be washed as well. I don't even HAVE his crib yet. It's taken me forever to decide on one and I planned on buying it this Tuesday. Hopefully he wont come before then! If he does, I have a bassinet but still...

And I definitely don't have a hospital bag packed yet. Talk about procrastination!

At least I'm in good company. :)

I didn't get our crib till my daughter was 2 weeks old, so you're definitely not alone with the procrastination on that end! We used a cosleeper bassinet when the kids were newborns anyway, so the crib didn't really matter, but I would have liked to have gotten it sooner just so I could have set up the bedding and stuff, but it was okay. We actually ordered it before she was born, but it was on backorder so it didn't come in time. Of course, she was born 2 weeks early, so if that hadn't happened then we would have gotten the crib first, but clearly not something you can plan.

Well girls I went on vacation and came back to not as many pages as I expected. I hope everyone is doing well. Today starts 32weeks pregnant for me and wow has time flown. I feel like ive gained a big growth on my stomach almost overnight (although its literally been for the last month and a half or so).

Here is a photo from our trip-- I swear im getting bigger everyday!

It won't be long now! My showers start this upcoming weekend and im pretty excited about that.

We had our '20 week' ultrasound today, although it is technically our 21 week five day ultrasound. (That makes a total of seven ultrasounds and 2 2d/3d so far. I think that we may have an ultrasound addiction.) All was perfect and hopefully she will be able to get some rest now without keeping herself up with worry.

My Dad came over last night and established that our crib was missing 2 bolts (he put it together at my sister's a few years ago). So now we get to call the company and figure out if we can order them or if they can tell us what we need to buy. My sister still hasn't brought over the bassinet. So...wish me luck that this baby will have somewhere to sleep soon.

Ugh, what a pain. I hope you get the bassinet soon, that baby will be here before you know it!

Maggimus - You look great in those photos! How was your trip? Where did you guys go?

Sbell - Hey, if the ultrasounds give you guys piece of mind, go for it. We still haven't told our family or most people we know IRL about this baby yet cause I was to see a heartbeat in our ultrasound Monday before I can really know everything is okay. I know being so sick is usually a good indicator that things are on track (not that not being sick isn't), but I still have this fear, which is kinda weird cause I didn't with my 1st 2.

Speaking of that, I plan to tell my kids about the baby this week and am wondering what those of you with older kids (older than toddlers I mean) said. My kids both know that we're planning on another baby (we've been speaking hypothetically about it for the past couple of months so the idea isn't totally new) and they're both excited about it and my daughter is already making plans about how she's going to hold it, pick out a carseat for it, etc. But I know that having the actual date in their minds (or at least my daughter's) will make it a much more concrete idea. She's coming to my ultrasound on Monday so she'll definitely know then, but I want to tell her prior to that. I'm hoping to make it somewhat exciting for her, since she'll forever have 2 annoying little siblings to deal with, but am not sure how.

Adi - Love the ultrasound photos! We had a 4D done with my daughter, but not my son, and you're making me want to go again with this one cause those pictures are great!

THANKS!! You should totally do it if you want to, I sure love them!!

I loved it with my daughter, though she was large and I was already 31 weeks when we did it so it was hard to get good shots. She was facing my spine and would not wake up no matter what. They let us come back a 2nd time and she was wide awake, but we had to wait cause the people ahead of us were late and by the time we were called she was asleep again! We did get an awesome shot of her 'crying' though, from the repeated poking of my belly trying to get her to move. We felt guilty about it too though and stopped at that point. It was amazing to see her react like that, despite how mean it was!

With my son we didn't feel like laying out the money (I got a gift certificate for the ultrasound with kid #1) so we ended up skipping it, but I regret it now if only cause I feel like what I do for one kid I should do for the other. We also only got like 2 photos of his regular ultrasound so we all around cheated him on pre-birth photos!

This time though, not only would I like to get it done, but I think my daughter would love to see the baby that way so we'll splurge on it again. Actually, hmm, I'm now considered "high-risk" because my son was preterm. Maybe I can get my dr to order one and then my insurance will cover it.:thumbsup2

Thanks. Don't laugh...lol, we went to Lake Lure, NC because im a huge Dirty Dancing fan and that's where they filmed some of the movie. It was really neat. We stayed at a golf and spa resort so we were on the golf course most of the time, and during the in-between we got massages and went site seeing for Dirty Dancing filming locations. It was neat... and fun... but didn't last nearly long enough! I feel like I need another vacation already!

CONGRATS!! I am a worrier so I can sympathize, we have a dopplar and listen to the heartbeat daily, I'm 26 weeks and still worry.

How about making a fancy invitation for her to go to the u/s?? That way it is a memento she can keep forever??

Ahhh!!! Look at me closer to the top than the middle or bottom!

Just wanted to give an update so the list would be complete! I had my baby on July 7th at 10:31pm. Ainsley Elizabeth weighed in at 6 pounds 11 ounces. She's beautiful!

I was induced a week before my due date due to suspected low fluids. Of course when they broke my water there was a ton! We barely avoided a c-section due to her being face up and crooked. They used a vacume and got her out safely and quickly.

Yay! Congrats!! :cool1: She's adorable!

So I'm 99.9 % sure I lost my mucus plug today. It was really gross too. I assume it was the mucus plug because well...what else could look like that? Sorry if I gross anyone out with my terminology but it honestly looked like a big wad of boogers :scared: Does that sound right? I need some feedback from those of you who have been through this before. I don't know what's going on! :lmao:

I'm jealous!! :lmao: :rotfl::rotfl:

Maggie, you look GREAT!! No stretchmarks? At least on that side shot? I really only had one right around my belly until this last month--now I look like the horror pictures you see..oh well...they'll match the ones I collected on my b oobs and thighs when I hit puberty. :scared:

So this is my last full week at work! I can't wait to get out of here.

For those of you following the library money drama--it looks like they are only taking 10% out of our budget instead of 30%, but since we've already lost 20%, it still sucks...but it's the best we could have hoped for I think.

No stretch marks (im knocking on wood as i write this)! I have truly been blessed! Its been a goal of mine to not get them. I haven't gained a lot at one time... and this last visit i didnt gain at all. Im trying not to gain too much too quickly, but rather over time so i dont get them. Although my dr says if you are going to get them-- you will end up getting them regardless of the creams and stuff that you use. They also say genetics plays a role (if your mom had them- you will likely get them, etc).

Congrats on it being your last full week at work AND that only 10% got cut - better than hoped for is always great :)
