Moms to Be Part 3

I will be anxiously waiting to hear if Patsy went to L&D last night.

She brought up a topic I wanted to mention-the birth announcements. Does anybody know of some good, CHEAP websites for birth announcements? I didn't send any out with Madeline but plan to with my boy (we moved around the time Madeline was 3 months old and it just wasn't in the cards for me to send out announcements for her birth).

Maggie-I meant to mention yesterday that your belly is too cute!! I wish mine was cute at some point but I think mine has just always been big!! I plan to hit the gym hard as soon as I am able.

Patsy- Please update us when you can. I hope your gallbladder troubles go away soon and you bring home a happy and safe Lucas :)

mmkk- Thanks! I dont feel like its cute. LOL. I feel like it looks flabby and awkward. I always imagined my pregnant belly to be perfectly round, you know what I mean? LOL... oh well-- I guess whatever it needs to look like to get my little man here. I have to definitely hit the gym when this baby comes too. I already have hips for days-- I can only imagine what this process is doing to them, and what things will be like after delivery! Unfortunately, the hips aren't one thing you can focus on when working out-- ill have a rough rode to ho!

Patsy, we are all thinking about you today! :grouphug:

As far as the gallbladder, I hope they can give you something! For my tubal, they used the epidural to deaden me from below my breasts down-I couldn't feel anything from right around where my bra strap would be on down. But I had already delivered before they added those extra meds-that may be why they could do that.

Sending happy thoughts your way Patsy!!

So the room is completely painted and the fan is up! DH had a monster headache, so no furniture got put together, but I'm sure by the end of the week that at least 2 of the three pieces will be done.

I'll post pics and a new belly post soon...One of my old belly pics is against the ugly rust colored wall that used to be Lily's. Now it's bright purple! It looks so good, but I still really want that girly fan! lol But that money needs to go to the rocker/glider.

I was thinking we should ask the new moms thread about birth announcements...

I have been thinking to have DH design something in photoshop that I can print for a few cents each on 4x6 picture paper.

I have my anatomy scan today. I am so nervous - I am always so nervous until I see my baby doing ok on there. Do any of you ever feel that way?? Or am I just nuts? Hopefully we'll be able to see if it is a boy or girl today. . . eek. . . my heart is racing. . . . I'm off to shower and get dressed to head out.

i've got most of the kids room in order, I'll have to take some pics and post some too. I hate that they will have to eventually share a room but we just don't have the room for another bedroom.

Thats a good idea about photoshop-I'll have to ask DH.
And yes, I get a little nervous with as well-excited but nervous! I get paranoid when I stop to think "when was the last time I felt him move?" but its usually not too long after that thought that I feel him!

Hope everything is ok with Piecey! Maggiums, cute bump pictures. I remember thinking the same thing about being round. Even today I see other moms and think how much rounder they are than me.

We did our sons announcements at Target. It was simple but I think we got 45 for $15. I think we'll use them again. We'll have to see what we have time for I guess.

Our baby news: we had another NST today. It went fine but my doctor said he wants to see me again on Friday and then again 2x next week to check my BP. It wasn't terribly high (138/80) but the good thing is I didn't have any protein in my "sample". We will have another US on 6/5 to see how big he is. He said he didn't want to stress the baby out any further so I'm set to be induced on the 6th if he doesn't show up before hand. We find out next Tuesday what our best options will be. Maybe he will decide sooner than later.

It's weird to think that we will be having a baby in 2 more weekends or less! I'm nervous about possibly being induced. I know it would be for the best to not stress out the baby any further but I don't want the possiblity of a c-section either. DH is scheduled to work 6/4, 5, and 6 so he'll have to figure out what to do at the firehouse. Just one more thing to do. Sigh!

Good luck today. By tonight you will know if you are having a pirate: or a princess: I remember I was nervous too at the anatomy scan, but I was nothing like my husband. He kept saying, is that normal? Is that normal? after everything the doctor would say.

Looks like the next week to 10 days there will be some new babies around here. So exciting!!!!!

Today's scan was great - baby is almost 1 lb. Measuring 19 weeks 5 days (so perfect). . and was moving up a storm - and even looked like the baby was waving at us. The mom's went along and they were amazed, they didn't get to have ultrasounds when they were pg.

And the much awaited (We've seen the baby's private parts 5 times, we'll confirm again at the 3D ultrasounds, but we are pretty confident):

Though all I care about is that the baby is healthy :) But my MIL is thrilled - she is the mom of three boys, so she is thrilled to have a girl in the family. I'm happy too. DH got teary eyes when they first said it was a girl - i was surprised since he has been calling baby a he from the beginning. . . So you can update me on the list - BUT can I have a special request and have purple instead of pink (like harleyquinn has), DH and I are not huge fans of pink but love purple for our baby!

Aldi2982- Congrats on your girl!! princess: That is so exciting!! :goodvibes

I can't believe how many babies we will have soon! It makes me super excited. :goodvibes

ShootingStarMom2- You're right behind me! Are you packed? I'm still not. :rotfl: No car seat, either! :lmao:

Sarah- I can't wait to see pictures of her room! I love the idea of the fairies! :)

I went to Labor and Delivery and got released at 3:30 today.. go figure. SO frustrating. The contractions were closer, harder and I could actually feel them but NOTHING. I didn't dialate anymore at all. They suggested sex (excuse them, I'm a virgin :snooty:), nipple stimulation (won't work, my surgery sorta killed most of the nerves there), a foot rub (DH is kindly delivering right now) and walking.. then they looked at my ankles and said "Uh, nevermind on the walking. Do you want written out of work?" So I'm done with work, too. Going to drive back tomorrow to turn in my keys and code my timecard with sick/vacation time.

I'm hoping I have something more exciting happening on Thursday morning at my appointment.... I'm not miserable, but the contractions cause these annoying little gallbladder attacks and Lucas seems oh so content to lay just right where I can barely stand up straight. :rotfl:

Definitely watching out for anyone who finds some good deals on birth announcements. WalMart's are .33/piece which isn't bad but I don't totally love many of them.
I think these are growing on me:

They're both from Shutterfly and "start" at .45/piece but I'm not sure how many you have to order to get that price. :confused3

These are from KodakGallery.com
I think I like them, too, but again.. not in love.

You order in sets of 10 and if you get 3-5 sets they're 8.99/set. 1-2 are 9.99/set. Not great but not terrible.

Hi,
Don't worry it will be time soon. Were you worried at all when they said they are going to/might induce you? I'm not crazy about the idea and want to see exactly what is going on before I agree. I was telling DH about the "other methods" you listed (lol) and said he'd me help out. Gee, there's a shock. I would say the walking could get things going. It sounds silly, but if you are able try squatting as much as you can. Our Bradley class showed us a bunch of exercises to move things along and that's one of them. It helped during labor too but it couldn't hurt to try early. :) Yes, I have a bag packed and the other carseat was installed today. Are you going to the FD/PD to have it done?

I like the announcements you have picked out too. I'm happy we have faster internet because I can order them online instead of having to choose one of the stores around here. I've never ordered off snapfish either but my sister likes them a lot. They have a pretty fast turnaround.

Adi - congrats on it being a girl! Isn't it amazing to see that little face and think that's all growing along right inside? I cry everytime we have one. I can't imagine what our kids will have once they have kids. Probably a home US machine they can look at anytime they want. :rotfl:

The baby's room is done except a little edging. There are some blue spots leftover on the ceiling from the prior owners that bled through. We're going to put the furniture in there tonight. I will try to post if we get moving on it. It's supposed to rain all night so DH can't cut the grass. Ha ha! More baby work! :lmao:

Okay.. everyone check out Vistaprint.com

I found some on there I really like (and you can do wording on the backs of most of them too!)

I kinda did this sample... I don't really have any pictures on here to upload to do the sample because I cleaned off my harddrive, so excuse the funky pictures themselves.

I really like this one and it's on sale 10 cards for 4.99. Can always hope that Lucas comes before the sale ends, haha!!

I've ordered a TON of regular prints from Snapfish and did my and DH's wedding announcements through them. I agree, they do a good job. I just don't particularly like any of their announcements either! :rotfl:

No, I'm not worried about being induced. I figure either way he's going to come out and I'd rather it be MY OB, who is familiar with my case [and most importantly, Lucas' size and my gallbladder issues] than someone who I'd have to fill in on everything. I like the idea of knowing I only have a week MAX, too. My mom was induced with me and she was in labor 8 hours vs. the 24 hours she was in labor with my brother, so I've had her in the background telling me that it's nothing to be afraid of... and so I've just not worried. I'm more worried that he'll get too big and I'll need a c-section so an induction was a very easy compromise for me to make! :goodvibes

Yeah, DH keeps saying "Why am I rubbing your feet when there are more exciting things we can be doing?"
Yeah, honey, I feel totally HOTT after all that time in L&D, let me tell you !!! :rotfl2:

I absolutely agree with you. I went WAY over with my oldest two kids and wound up having to be induced anyway. With the other two, I didn't even argue or try to put things off, just pulled out my calendar and scheduled the date. As a result, I've never had a labor longer than 8 hours and I've had my own Dr. for all four deliveries. (There are a couple of OBGYN's here in my hometown that most women hope to avoid if they're in labor, and I've never had to worry about getting any of them in the middle of the night.)

Don't misunderstand, I would love to go into labor all on my own with this one. It's my last chance to do that. But, for whatever reason, my body doesn't have strong enough contractions to have a baby. (I knocked my IV out during labor with one of my deliveries and sure enough EVERYTHING stopped-I was at the pushing phase too, so it was very weird.) So, my point is that while I wish I had alternatives, induction has been what has brought me four healthy babies and it's nothing to be afraid of-even if I'm still hoping to avoid it this time.

Thanks for the info. I'm just terrified of ending up with a c-section. My BF was induced 2x and everything was fine. I went into labor on my own with DS but ended up needing help because my contractions stopped after they broke my water. I got the epidural but wanted to try without it this time. An induction will rule that out. I don't have to worry about getting a strange doctor. Our hospital is one of two where the practice delivers so we will always have one of our own doctors. That would really suck to have a total stranger. No thanks!

Had my appointment today and I only gained 2 pounds!!! YAy! And that's with the holiday and my shower the last 2 days! My Dr said I'm doing great and everything is perfect...2 week appointments now! Eeek!

I'll add your girl to the list tomorrow Adi!! Congrats!!

That's awesome! Great job on keeping the weight down :thumbsup2 Feels good doesn't it?

Wow, two week appointments now! Another milestone which means I will be following shortly. I guess after my next appointment I'll have two week appointments as well. It's really getting close!

Adi, congratulations on your little girl! How exciting :goodvibes

This is all so exciting! So many new babies entering the world soon.

I had someone on the DISign forum make an announcement for us when we found out we were expecting. Then, I uploaded it to shutterfly as a photo so they were 10cents each or somewhere near there. They turned out really well!

That is totally cute! I love it.

I have my next doctors app't on Monday. I am now on an every week schedule. :scared1: Only 31 more days if I make it to my due date. Tick Tick Tick Tick. Time is really starting to fly now. If she does come a few days early, I could have her on Father's Day.

When do you start two week appointments where you are?? We start them after 28 weeks where I go - so I'd go at 24, 28 and then 30. . . OMG - I just realized I just had my 20 week appt - so I only have two more 4 weeks appts! EEK! Though it still feels October is forever away!
