I'm so happy we got the set on sale. I was thinking about just getting the crib and using DS1 changer but we still use it for him and storage. Oh well, it's an investment for the boys.

We found a bedding set finally. DS1 has Critter Chatter by NoJo. We didn't know what we were having the first time so we picked something for either. The second time around for this baby we ordered Splash by Migi. It's exactly what I wanted the first time but in much better shape. I'm just going to get my own valance and curtains.

Here is the bedding:

Here is the crib, changer, and dresser:

The crib is shown in white, but is the same color as the dresser and changer.
Hooray!

We might be going to Macaroni Grill with DH's family and grandma. All I need is 5 more pounds due to Italian food. :sad2: Who can resist that darned bread they serve?

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. Congrats on the house Skylarr. What a great way to welcome a new baby. I tell DH we should just buy a new house when the baby comes so I don't have to pick this one up.

Maggimus, glad you found something you like.

Jen

I really like that bedding alot. It is really fun.:yay:

What a deal you got! Holy Ca'moly! That first bedding I showed (the one that some find a bit femanine-- although it could be leaves and not flowers..:confused3) you can order online for $100 NO taxes and Free Shipping. So thats not bad at all. I really like it and DH does too but I dont know how family would react-- and its not worth dealing with the hassle ya know? LOL. Family drama during pregnancy- they should make a reality show about that. (luckily ive been okay with all of mine thus far).

*******TARGET DEAL ALERT*******
I did want to mention one deal though that some of you might want to take advantage of (Target again)

Go to this website and on the left hand side where it says "Parents Help your Classroom Hero" under there click for the B2G1 Free Clorox Wipes coupon. (you can print two)

Then at Target they have $1.00 off coupons for the Clorox wipes right now.
http://sites.target.com/site/en/supertarget/page.jsp?title=coupons_specials

If you use 1 manu coupon and get 3 wipes, you can use 3 target coupons and it makes those clean up wipes only .52 some-odd cents a piece!
What a steal when you are trying to clean up the bathroom/kitchen really quick when the baby comes! Dh and I go through these like crazy!

Wow, great deal. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks Maggie!! :thumbsup2

I need to get back to couponing (it seems like forever since I have been over at the budget board!) and this is a great deal to get me jump started!

Yeah, I can't believe it! Total deal on that bedding.
I love the skirt, too. White with the primary colored stripes- very easy to decorate with the color type theme I wanted. The bumper has the same pattern on the back, so does the quilt. I could just turn it upside down and have primary colored stripes!

Ugh, you and these deals at Target! Closest one is an hour and I somehow think the savings on those wipes would be offset by my gas and time to get there.. :rotfl:
DH and I buy them in 4-packs at Sams. Thankfully, I think we still have a few containers left. Those things are super handy!

OMG..how do you deal with Target an hr away?? LOL
I actually have a Target closer than a WalMart which is great since I refuse to shop WalMart!!!!

My goal is to get some of you on the couponing wagon-- no one needs to pay full price-- and it adds more money in the pocket for baby!

Here are two posts that show photos of what I got and what I paid for today at both Target & Walmart... hopefully my savings will get some of you saving too (And then you can help me watch for more deals!)

wow...great deal at Target!!

I went to Lowes, then Home Depot... Spent over $100...BUT...they did let me use my $10 lowes coupon at HD :)

We have Walmart all over (and everyone is entitled to your own opinion but I love ours), but only like 3 Targets in the whole state! The one I go to is an hour away, but is close to my OB's office, so I'll be stopping in on Tuesdays for the next few weeks when I have my checkups.

I went to a wedding today-felt like a house but made it ok. The girl who used to cut my hair, but quit to go to work as a secretary, was there. She has moved to the town I was offered the job in, and has opened a new shop. Then I saw another friend who told me her sister is teaching there, too. All of this info was out of the blue-no one knows about my job offer yet. So it looks like I'll know several people there next year. Now if we could only get dh a great job there, and find an affordable house, things would really be great!

The wedding was hilarious. The couple getting married have a little boy-he'll be 3 Tuesday. They had only been together a matter of weeks when she got pregnant, so everyone is really excited that they've stayed together. Their son is a doll, but so bad! He ran around during the wedding yelling "Yes we can" (Bob the Builder). It was outdoors, and very laid back thank goodness. Several people were drinking beer during the ceremony, so no one seemed to mind his antics!

******My ticker moved to the last box today!!!!!! She's almost here!

The only reason I haven't like WalMart (aside from the ones around here being packed too often) is the employees are always rude. I feel like Target is cleaner and with nicer people :) - Rather give them the extra buck for the happier atmosphere :goodvibes
Totally funny about the wedding!! Nice to know couples like that work! My DBF and I had only been dating 4 months when I got pregnant...and I was the first person he ever dated with kids, so I was terrified to tell him, but he was ecstatic :) Then...4 months after DS was born, I was pregnant again. I'm keeping him away from me til I get fixed....LOL

And, congrats on yr ticker :goodvibes

I live in a very rural area, so until 3 or 4 yrs ago we had very few options that didn't involve an hour's drive. We don't have any of the big chain stores here, just some very overpriced grocery stores with limited items and a few dollar stores (Freds and Dollar General). So when the super Walmart came to town, we celebrated! Most of the employees are former students, so they are always nice to me! We got a Dollar Tree last week, and everyone is celebrating again!

The groom (he is dh's cousin on his mother's side, and my cousin on his father's side, so family to both of us!) told dh that he thinks she got pregnant on their 3rd date. They weren't kids-in their mid-20s. Everyone was pressuring them to get married, but they barely knew each other! They dated for a year, then moved in together. So I think they were really ready for this next step.

I haven't had a chance to catch up, but just wanted to let you know...

Caleb Joseph arrived 4/16 5:40 pm
9lbs 14.5 oz 21 inches
He was premature he was born at 36 weeks 5 days.

Story:

I was having contractions at work about 10 minutes apart. I called MD at 12:00. Went to hospital to be checked. They moved to 5 minutes before I got there, about 1/2 an hour drive, then 2-3 minutes while I was being monitored.

He kept watching me for a little bit as I wasn't dilated, but I don't that's why I had my first csection. But he said it was like I wasn't even pregnant...go figure.

So he watched for another 1/2 an hour, but got me ready, IV, labs, etc. He checked head position and it hurt. Head was right at my incision scars from my other 2. At that point he said, no choice if the incisions were sore, he had to take me. Contractions weren't getting any better w/hydration and now risk tearing incision.

I was in OR within 10 minutes. It took 20 minutes to get to baby due to scar tissue from other 2 csections I had so much fluid when he broke thru, the fluid went all the way to the wall. I know, probalby TMI, but that's just crazy.

I was in about an hour after cleaning up all of the adhesions, I had a ton. Now onto baby. He was good when he was born about 1-2 hours later he started to have trouble breathing. They put the hood on him and it really wasn't helping. 12midnight the call was made to mass general to have him transported. the team was here before 1am and they ran tests, decided to intubate him before they went. Then they did xray to check tube placement and he had pneumothorax and partially collapsed lung. MD came down to me, discussed and put in chest tube. So with all the work they did to stabalize him it was 5 am when they brought him in to see me before he went off via ambulance to Boston.

He had his chest tube removed about 10pm yesterday. They were playing with his oxygen all day today to make sure he could tolerate not having the respirator and at about 7:30pm he decided he was done w/it and pulled it out!! So, I talked to them about 45 minutes after that and he was doing great. He had a feeding tube in, which he was getting sugar water in. They removed that and were going to feed him some formula. They need to watch him there for 24 hours before he can come back here. There is a level 2 nursery here, so he can come back here once cleared from respirator status.

I'm here until Monday, but if he isn't ready, yet...I can stay as a "border" and stay on the ward and just wont have the nursing care. No biggie, as long as I can be with him. It's been tough being here and he's in Boston. My hubby goes in and spends the entire day with him, visiting me before and after.

So there's my story...long story but it's been a tough couple of days, but he's strong. He must look very strange in the NICU being a premie and being born almost 10lbs... I do make big babies. He peed 4 times in the OR before they weighed him. He probably would have been 10 lbs if they had weighed him right away, but they had the specialist all ready in OR to check him out knowing he was early.

ETA: He was born on what would have been my grandfathers 85th birthday. My entire family said he was going to be born that day from the day they found out I was pregnant....

Wow, you've been through alot! He was born on my grandmothers bday! I was hoping Ella would be born then (named after her) but I didn't want to wait that long...lol
He sounds like he is doing better! Just stay strong, and keep us updated! Congrats to you!

Congrats on the Arrival of Caleb Joseph!!!

:goodvibes Praying and hoping he is well enough to be with you soon!! :goodvibes

OMG-congratulations! A 10 lb preemie! I can't even imagine. I hope he continues to improve and is in your arms soon! I'm 35 wks 4 days, so your story kind of scares me!

OMG..how do you deal with Target an hr away?? LOL
I actually have a Target closer than a WalMart which is great since I refuse to shop WalMart!!!!

There just isn't one here.. and the one closest is the most boring god-awful drive known to man on the worst most mind-numbing stretch of road with no radio, cell phone reception, etc.
No one ventures out that way for the heck of it. :headache:

There are two Wal-Marts within 10 minutes of me and another in the city I work in (about 20 minutes, it's right by the river when I cross from WV to OH...)
Here it's Wal-Mart or nuttin.

I have found some good baby stuff at K*Mart, though. Their waterproof pads are much cheaper than anywhere else I've found, as well as changing pad covers.

I'm a little irritated though. I packed up all the baby shower stuff we didn't need (or was size Newborn.. yeah, up to 8lbs, Lucas will get lots of use out of that.. :headache:)to return and while she was doing it, I thought she missed something and when I calculated it in my head when I got home, she missed a $10 package of receiving blankets. I have no proof though and I hate myself for not speaking up! Grr. :sad2:
DH says I shouldn't be too upset. We went to the Humane Society fundraiser tonight and I won a door prize (a huge basket full of flowers from a local landscaping business which we drove straight to my mother and said "happy early mothers day" :rotfl:) and I also won a Longaberger Cake Basket w/ liner and protector. Retails at $117 total.
I guess thats not tooooo bad but I'm still irritated over the receiving blankets!

Welcome Caleb!!!

Welcome Caleb Joseph. I know how tough it is to be separated from your baby. Hopefully it's just a small "bump in the road" and he is well enough to be with you soon.

Congrats DannysMom-just saw your ticker-over halfway there!!!!! I know you'll never quit holding your breath (until they are here) but at least that is one milestone crossed!

Thanks -- 3 months I need to keep chugging along... My goal is August. My birthday is August 8th, babies for my birthday would be cool.....

CUTE KIDDISM

My DH asked my 5 year old "Do you know what Daddy does at work?" & got The Answer.... "make money to go to DisneyWorld!" :rotfl::rotfl: That's my boy!

Since I don't know if we'll be up for a trip next year, babies & all, we were pondering taking the money the we would have spent on a trip next year & putting it aside as a savings plan to buy into DVC..... still sort of pondering that. In like 2 years we'd have the bulk of the money to buy in, maybe finance a tiny part. Seems like a good idea, until we think about all that we'd like to do in the house, and how all it takes is money...... Don't know that we'd have the willpower to not touch it..... still thinking 'bout it.

Welcome to the world Caleb Joseph!! :yay::yay:

And Valerie, that's too cute about your son. Outta the mouths of babes, huh? :lmao:
