Moms to Be Part 3

Well my adventures w/ PTL started at 21 weeks. But it started w/ modified bedrest. The more strict bedrest (w/ contrax when I'm up too much) has been since I was released from this last hospital stay at about 26 1/2 weeks....

So it's Friday, that means The Dog Whisperer is on.....

Well congrats on making it this far!! Every day those babies are inside you is a blessing. I'm sure you'll be able to make it all up to your DS...children are very forgiving--it's forgiving yourslef that's the issue!

Tara, we will have to meet up sometime! I teach for Frisco ISD at Wakeland HS, where does your friend teach?]

Definitely! I can't believe we are so close! She teaches at Frankford Middle School in Plano and coaches volleyball there.

I have no idea how to multi- quote, but I added you two as friends, and if any one wants to add me I am Tara Norkett. Warning though, there is an overload of pictures of James!

I must have found out I was pregnant right at three weeks. I actually wasn't expecting to be, and just took the test to make sure I wasn't pregnant before I started my birth control :rotfl: I can't believe the test showed positive that soon! It must have been only 7 or 8 DPO.

My husband didn't come to the last appointments since he couldn't take time off of work every week, but he did help with the delivery! The nurse didn't really give him in option not too :rotfl:

He saw James come out and I thought he was really helpful at coaching me along. He told me he was really glad he got to see everything!

You may want to get your OB to do an u/s to confirm the pregnancy dating, as well as rule out multiples...... I don't want to scare you, but sometimes you can get an early + HPT result because there is more than 1 in there......

I got a + HPT at exactly 4 weeks & there were no faint positives for me.... & well check my signature......

Well the one I got at three weeks was really really faint. I almost thought I was hallucinating. I had an ultrasound on Wednesday and, the baby was measuring 4w 2d, when based on my LMP it should have been around 7 weeks. They have determined I must have ovulated really late, and that is why there is the date discrepancy. I have had my hormone levels checked, and they came back really good. They only saw one sac during the ultrasound, but I know it was so early it is still possible to see two. When did you find out there were two? Did you get symptoms earlier this time? I was nauseous starting a little before 4 weeks.

Hello ladies!! Just found this thread and couldn't wait to join!

I'm Candi (37), DH is Scott(38), DS is Jason (12). I'm 25w4days preggo with our 2nd miracle baby (and yes you read DS's age right...there will be 12.5 years difference between my 2 children, lol). Princess Maya Victoria is due on September 21, 2009.

We were told 17 years ago that I'd never conceive a child. 5 years later I got pg with DS thanks to fertility drugs. Tried for #2 for 6 years, nothing worked so we turned our attention towards adoption. Got diagnosed with diabetes in April '08 which my Dr. gave me metformin for. Metformin is also used to treat my type of infertility (PCOS) but when we'd tried it in the past in conjunction with fertility drugs it didn't work....imagine our surprise when the Dr. ran a routine blood panel in February before putting me on another drug to control my cycles and the pg test came back positive!

Anyway, that's us in a nutshell!

Alright folks we have a girl in September!! YAY!

Welcome Candi! If you read a couple of pages back, you'll see we were discussing PCOS. You are now the 4th person on the thread that has it!

I have it too, got pregnant a month after my diagnosis and Met. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing your story and welcome!! :grouphug:

Wow! Thanks for all the info! I'm definitely not looking forward to the internal exams, especially since DH will be at all of my remaining exams. It's gotta be weird to see a lady messing around with your lady, ya know? :lmao: Anyone elses hubbies along for these?:scared:

Are we facebook friends yet? Sarah Posey Vargo look me up!

No, Tom didn't go to any of mine... but it might have prepared him for the whole labor experience and watching the nurses check me all day. He held my legs while they were letting me push, too, and I could tell from the look on his face that he didn't wanna see me like that. :rotfl:

I'm at least a little grateful that Lucas didn't come out that way, so his mind isn't totally stuck on that image. I know some people find it beautiful and natural but I don't know that my Tom would have been able to get past seeing Lucas come out...

My DH went to all of my appointments for DS and with this one he went to all up until 36 weeks. He can't make anymore because he started a new job.

Is it a bit weird, yes. But I agree with Patsy it prepares them, for the lack of modesty during delivery. Lets face it seems like everyone is looking up there then!:lmao: And he never had any questions after we left because he was right there to hear everything as it happened.

TGIF ladies!

TGIF ladies!

The last couple of appointments, he's called me afterwords to find out what she said about some questions---that I completely forgot to ask--so he can be my question remembering guy!

Plus I feel like it opens up the mysterious world of the GYN/OB to him...he was so cute on the first visit--she had one of the Nuva? ring's in the room and he was all, "OMG it's that ring thing! How does it work?!" It was too funny.:thumbsup2

Welcome Candi! What a wonderful surprise you got. Congrats:yay:

DannysMom- First off, a big kudos to you for making it 28 weeks.:cheer2: I can't even imagine what it must be like to be in bed 24/7. Try to not let the guilt get to you in reguards to your son. Big hugs to you:hug:

My husband was there for my internal exam last week. After he kept saying, wow, that looked like it hurt. He was right. He will also be there on Monday for my next one. This time I bet he does not watch.

Valerie, Congrats on the 28 weeks mark. Hang in there sweetie, you are doing great.

-----

Candi, welcome to our wonderful world of expecting DISers!!!! Congrats.

This 40 year old advanced maternal age Mom is exhausted!!! I need to steal some of my two year olds energy, some times I feel to old for this crap!!!:rotfl: but I would not change it for the world :cloud9:

They really need a smiley that is shaking it's head in agreement.

The first few times they checked me, the day I was in labor, he went behind the curtain or in the bathroom. By the end he just stood there and I didn't care, either. Whatever.
When DH is actually holding your legs and people are yelling at you to push, there is so much more on your mind other than "I wonder how DH is handling his view" :rotfl2:

If I'm working my calendar correctly, we found out right at three weeks. The truth is, we were kinda hoping for two, but that didn't happen.

We try to write questions down in a little notebook because we'll never remember them otherwise.

I go to each appointment. I really want to be part of the entire process, as much as I can. A bonus is that Cathy tends to forget what the doc says.

Well, poop. :rotfl:

You guys make me feel smart.

I thought there was one but I looked and missed it. Lame!

My first u/s was at 6w5d & the doc could not get a good view, so I was sent for beta HCG blood draws to see if levels were increasing appropriately & it was a viable pg. Levels were good, on the high side. Had another u/s at 7w5d & it was pretty clear that there were 2 in there.

In terms of symptoms, mine were pretty mild. Very little m/s -- more just exagerated gag reflex that would make me puke when I brushed my teeth.

Valerie, I am so happy you've made it this far! I can't imagine how hard it's been on you but just remember, we're here for you every step of the way

Welcome Candi and congratulations!

I just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone. I'm headed out but I hope everyone has a great Friday evening :)

28 weeks -- only 8 weeks to my goal of 36 weeks.... so despite what my ticker says only 56 days to go......
