Moms to Be Part 3

I'm going to go to a place that has a package for 4D ultrasound where you go twice. Once between 20 and 27 weeks and once between 28 and 36 weeks. When would you go??

I have a regular ultrasound next week (22 weeks, because they couldn't get the heart valve measurements at the anatomy scan because she was curled up).

So, I was thinking 26 weeks and I can't decide on the second, what would you do/suggest??

I would go with somewhere between 32 and 34 since the first one will be at 26, you'll want to wait past 28...plus I'd love to see mine right now!! :lovestruc I'd want to make sure it was early enough if she does come a bit early, but not too soon or late knowing that she'd be here so close to the U/S.

We went to the same place for ours. We just had the first one last week right before 25 weeks and we are doing the second one at 30 weeks. I've heard if you go too late the baby is too crowded to get good pictures. My booger likes to sleep through EVERY ultra sound so we'll see what happens. I posted some photos a few pages back. He kept putting his hand over his face lol. It was a great experience.

Everything was fine but they still made me get it. Mid-wife says it is probably as a precaution in case I miscarried. Anyhow, mine was in the behind, I thought everyone's had to be?

Patsy - hope all is going well for you today! :goodvibes

They told me if I had ANY bleeding with my pregnancy that I needed to go straight to the hospital and get a Rhogam injection...
I never had any bleeding, so I just got the regular one at 28wks or whenever it was... mine was definitely in my shoulder, though. Lucas is + so I'll have to get another and I hope it's not in my bumm! :rotfl:

Piecey - I hope things went well for you today and that you're holding your little boy in your arms right now!

Patsy, good luck!!!!!! We hope to hear from you soon!

Patsy ~ I hope little Lucas is here and all is well. Thinking of you :goodvibes

Patsy, I thought of you today! I hope everything went well and you're spending time with Lucas as I type this. Can't wait to see pictures of the little guy :lovestruc

Just wanted to update: Patsy had her little boy yesterday at 10:04 pm. I will let her post all the exciting details but I saw that a friend of hers posted the update on her fb and wanted to share with you all. He says that momma and baby are doing well!

Congrats Patsy! Can't wait till you are up to posting some pics!!

Thanks! That was my brother that posted- he loves to spread the joy of his nephew already! :goodvibes

YAY! Congrats Patsy and welcome baby Lucas!! I can't wait to hear all about how everything went and see pictures of him :goodvibes

Patsy-- I see you posting and have checked both threads... has little Lucas arrived? Can't wait to hear all about it!

5am: Admitted into Labor and Delivery
5:45am: Start Pitocin drip
8am: Water is broken (dilated to 3)
10am: Dilated to 4
11am: Epidural
12noon: Epidural finally starts to work
12:45pm: Dilated to 5
3:45pm: Dilated to "stretchy" 7
5:45pm: Epidural wears off. Between gallbladder and contractions, I couldn't take it. I tried. I had complete and total back labor and I hyperventilated because of the pain so had to wear an oxygen mask :guilty:
6:30-ish: Re-injection of the epidural starts to kick in. Was a stretchy 9. OB asked me if I thought I could push. Pushed. Nothing. Upped the Pitocin.
7:30pm: Fully dilated, time to push. Lucas goes into distress while pushing. Someone else is in c-section OR, so my OB had me stop pushing until the OR was free in case they couldn't get his heartrate back up after one of the pushes.
8:15-pm-ish: OR clear, so we start pushing. Pushed for an hour, OB said they were "great pushes" and Lucas couldn't get past my pelvic bone.
9:15pm: OB makes call for c-section after 16 hours of labor.

9:30pm:... Epidural wore off again and I was a mess. Exhausted, could barely breathe from hyperventilating, etc... I was not a happy camper and started crying in the room. :guilty: Mr. Anesthesiologist man gave me lots of drugs, though...

10:04pm: Lucas James entered the world via c-section weighing in at 9lbs5oz with a length of 22".... I was bawling in the OR, I'll admit it. :)

1:25am: I finally, finally, finally got to see him up close and to hold him... :goodvibes:cloud9:

OB said I never would have been able to do a natural delivery and apologized for letting me labor so long...

Nurses did a great job getting pictures taken in the OR, even video-ed DH changing his first diaper for me to see!!

Picture time!!
First time I saw him :lovestruc, he grabbed my finger and held on. Nurses kept saying "He knows his mommy!" and I started crying again.

He's an incredibly laid back baby, he doesn't cry. He makes little gurgling noises that are adorable and I wish those would last forever, as I figure crying is in the future...

If he starts to get even a little bit fussy all you have to do is rub his head and he goes right back to sleep!! :lovestruc

Patsy he is the cutest! Congratulations! Sorry you had to labor so long, and practically for nothing. I bet you wish you could have been cut a lot earlier and saved yourself a lot of exhaustion! The oxygen mask is a fear of mine, I must admit! And the major fear is the epidural wearing off! Yikes-- you can support me though when my time comes and let me know that you overcame all of that and Lucas is still a doll! Glad everyone is safe and healthy! What a big boy you have! Congrats, Congrats!!

OMG Patsy, he's gorgeous!!

9 pounds, 5 ounces!! Holy moly--no wonder he didn't want to come out!

How are you feeling now? Did they have any indication that he was that big?! Sounds like it should have been a much quicker decision to go c-section.

Awww, Patsy your pictures brought tears to my eyes! I am SO happy for you! Lucas is absolutely precious, and what a big boy he is too!

I'm sorry you had such a tough labor but what a trooper you are! You are quite a woman! How are you feeling post c-section? Is it as bad as they say it is?

Well I am just over the moon for you and your DH :goodvibes Lucas is an absolute doll and I know you're just going to be such a great mommy to him!

And question...an epidural can wear off?!!? I thought it was a continuous thing!

I'm practically ready to pass out right now but I'll touch more on it wearing off and details and stuff later for you... I had more to say but like I said I'm ready to fall over.. except I'm in a bed? Hm.

Thanks! :cloud9::love::lovestruc I agree, he's gorgeous! The whole OR was coo-ing all over him when she got him out and talking about how perfect he was (which made me cry even more since I couldn't see him :headache:)....

From how I measured (39wks) and my due date based off of LMP (6/9) she told me she expected 8lbs and a few ounces... my belly didn't even get that big either. :rotfl:
The lady who had the c-section ahead of me was having one because they anticipated her baby being large... turns out that baby was 7lbs-ish.
When my OB was in here this morning she apologized again and said "They predicted that baby large, and got average. I predicted your baby slightly above average and got VERY LARGE!"

Can you imagine if they hadn't decided to bring me in yesterday?! How big he would have been!?? :scared1:

And question...an epidural can wear off?!!? I thought it was a continuous thing!

A close friend of mine wont have anymore kids (she only had one) because her epidural wore off... and she literally cannot get passed the thought of the pain she was in. She is one of those people who you would have thought would have 3 or 4... but when she thinks back to laboring her first she wont even THINK about doing it again. That is why you don't want to get the epidural too soon.... or too late either!

I bet you ARE exhausted! Go get some rest! Are you bf'ing? If so how is that going? (I cant remember-- all the boards i read the bf's from ff's run together). I hope you are able to get comfortable and enjoy this wonderful time with your family!

Wow...this is like the first fact that I regret ever finding out! lol :scared: But at least I can keep the whole not too early thing in my brain. :thumbsup2
