Moms to Be Part 3

Just wanted to say we got back from WDW on Sunday night and man, what a miserable trip! I mean, it was fun, the kids had fun, the crowds weren't bad, but wow was I sick! Whatever morning sickness I thought I had before we left was nothing compared to how bad things have gotten in the past week. I knew it was likely cause I was soooooooooo sick with my son, but this time seemed to be a bit better and I was hoping it would stay that way, but no such luck. Things have been just as bad since I've been home and my only saving grace is that my kids are both in camp everyday, otherwise I think I'd be crazy. I have to heat up some pizza for my kids for dinner and the mere idea has me sick.

Oh, and my dr called to reschedule my appt, so now I don't go in till July 23rd when initially it was July 6th. Not that I am in a huge rush cause I know the 1st appt won't be terribly exciting, but I was using it as a mental milestone. The only upside to going the 23rd is that my 1st trimester screening is scheduled for July 20th and some random ultrasound that he receptionist made me schedule (I guess to 'date' the pregnancy, even though it's after my 1st trimester screening?) is July 21st. So I'll have all the results back at my first appt on the 23rd. My husband has to work overnight on the 20th so I'll be going to that screening alone with my kids, should be a fun time. I really wanted to bring my daughter cause I know she'll want to see the baby, but didn't really plan on being on my own in there with my terror son. Maybe I can stick him in a stroller or something.

And speaking of my kids, anyone have a fun idea to tell them they're getting a new sibling? We haven't told them yet, but my daughter's 5yo and aware enough about me being sick all the time, not going on lots of rides in WDW, not doing the pool slide, etc. And since I'm so sick, I figure that means my risk of miscarriage at this point is pretty low, right? So anyway, I want to tell them soon but was hoping for something more than just "Guess what, you're going to be a big sister. Again."

Mine is from WalMart but I bought it in the laundry section.. like where you buy hampers and hangers and the such. I think it's a "lingerie bag" by title. It's made by Woolite. HTH. :thumbsup2

Here is one on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Honey-Can-Do-...5?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1245725011&sr=8-5

Thanks! Maybe I'll have to order online. I tried Target again today and couldn't find it with the laundry baskets. I avoid Wal-Mart at all costs. The one here is just scary :scared: I think I'll check a Dollar Store or two first though.

Check grocery stores, also. I bought one in Publix. It was near the rit dye and shoe polish.

My wife called me on my way home from work. She had been to the bank and someone mentioned a good 3d/4d US place that was nearby. She wanted me to meet her there and talk to them about 3d/4d. We ended up getting it done on the spot.

BTW Mendy is in labor!!!! Her DH is updating through Facebook. :thumbsup2

I wish it were me....still patiently waiting here for something to happen.
I would love to go today or tomorrow because the two doctors I like are on call during the day. Doesn't hurt to wish does it??!?!?!

Good luck! With my daughter, my OB was on call exactly 15 days before my due date and I really think I willed her out cause that's the day she was born and I was so happy that it was my OB who delivered her.

Nothing new here, same old crappy, sick feeling. I think it's worse this time around cause I know just how long it's going to last.

I had my glucola test yesterday along with RhoGAM. AHH... warning to anyone who has a negative blood type... the RhoGAM BURNS! LOL I thought my butt was on fire. Ofcourse, most spots they rub it afterward to help with the burn-- but not on your rear... so I had to rub it myself. The shot itself wasnt bad... just the burning that seemed to last quite a while.

The Glucola Drink (I had red-- im guessing fruit punch) wasn't bad... just a LOT of SUGAR really early in the morning, and on an empty stomach!

I have my 4D next Tuesday and I cant wait!

If you go into labor during the day, you get the on call? It's so crazy how different things are EVERYWHERE!
If I went into labor during the day, I got my Dr. (unless she was on vacation, of course) and only got the on call if I went in after hours or the weekend.

Then again, my OB's office is in the hospital.. so it's a lot easier for her to manage my case from the same building vs. I'm sure of you go to practices outside the hospital. :confused3 For example, she broke my water before her morning appointments and then popped back in on her lunch break to see how things were progressing. :rotfl:

Okay, I do not envy you at all. I'm never having another baby at any hospital other than the one where I had Lucas.. I so don't want a RhoGAM shot in my bum!

Piecey at our hospital, there's an OB attending on call everyday and that is who does all deliveries that day. Regardless of whether or not you have ever met that dr, regardless of the time of day. My OB's group is across the street from the hospital, so the location isn't the issue for them, just their own policy I guess. The OBs have set clinic days, then call days, and it just is a matter of luck, unless you're induced or have a scheduled c-section. There are a lot of OBs in my dr's group, so their call schedule is probably every 10 days.

My OB was on call when my daughter was born, but was not when my son was born, but he did come in and visit me after I had my son. We did have an induction scheduled with my son and my OB would have done that (as we scheduled it for his call day), but he was born 2 weeks before the induction date. This time around, I don't even think my OB would bother with an induction since my kids were born 15 and 25 days early so I'll just be hoping it's an OB I like when I deliver.

The one difference is if you have a private OB. My OB, and his whole group, work for the hospital essentially. If you get a private OB, then you'd get that dr (or one in their group if it's a group and after hours) for your delivery.

How exciting!! Can't wait to see, if you will be sharing. . . .

It doesn't hurt nor does it cost a thing to wish :) Hopefully you get your wish!

Yea, rhogam is not pleasant. . . I get to get another in 5.5 weeks, woo hoo, lol. But the good thing is that the pain doesn't last too long. I don't remember mine burning though. Can't wait to see your 4d pictures! My first session will follow soon after yours - July 11th.

Hi everyone just checking in. Just got back from my 19 week doctors appointment and everything seems to be going great! Heartbeat is 152 and strong. The doctor made a comment about the slight possibility of twins since I was measuring slightly bigger and the fact that both my mom and DBF's mom are twins. I always knew the chances me having twins was a bit higher and I always wanted twins, but since the doctor said that I'm getting a little bit scared. Luckily we have our anatomy ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow so we'll get to see if it's a boy or a girl or one or two! Hopefully our little peanut wants it's gender to be known so we can give him or her, their name!

I passed my glucose test... I think, lol! The nurse said they would call on Monday if I needed to do the 3 hour and no phone call! I was so worried because I didn't know I was going to take it and so right before I went in I had Boston Market mac and cheese, yogurt, and a soda:scared1:

~Ann, hoping for a baby soon. I don't know how you girls can even stand to be so close. I'm a wreck knowing I only have a few more weeks to go!!! GL

That is very interesting. I'm not sure that I'd like that, but I'm sure that is because I very much like how my OB did things. If that is all I knew, I'm sure I'd of been okay with it.

My OB told me at our first meeting that she was in a "group" with 4 other OBs (3 ladies and 1 male) and they took turns being on call, so if I went into labor on the weekend or at night they might deliver me. They all have their own private practices, and only my OB and 1 of the females had their practices in the hospital I would be delivering in. I was nervous about possibly encountering the male but luckily he is the ONLY one I didn't run into at all. :rotfl:
I really do like my OB... HATED the OB that I ran into with my gallbladder issues [who coincidentally was the one to discharge me] and never met the other female, she just ordered the pain medicines for me and talked to me on the phone one night.

I'm going to ask at my PP checkup to be sure, but I'm almost positive I'll be a schedule c-section from here on out...thus ensuring I'll have MY OB [unless i went into labor early or something of that sort]...

Anyway, thanks for sharing! I find all the differences very interesting! :goodvibes

Welcome back!! Sorry you had a hard time, but I completely understand...my trip to WDW at 8 weeks was miserable, I'll never try that again!

Sorry I don't have any ideas for the sibling reveal--bringing her to see the ultrasound sounds like it would be the best way if you can pull it off.

Hope you feel better soon!

:scared1::scared1::scared1:When did you get to internals!!!! Seems like just yesterday when you were at the bottom of the list and taking over the thread!:rotfl:

I know!! Isn't it insane!?

Yay!:cool1:

Okay! Appointment update...

My first internal wasn't too bad...I did flinch, but that was more cuz I was in the middle of a sentence and not paying attention to what she was doing. lol It was uncomfortable, but was very simliar to an annual checkup--maybe less invasive. I didn't spot at all, so it couldn't be that bad.

She said that her head is down! Yay! I was really worried about that. I must be rubbing her butt all of the time!

We talked about induction and episiotomies and some other things I can't remember. I wish I had talked to her about it earlier. I think she very into letting nature take it's course with the help of an epidural (if that's not an oxymoron), which is exactly how I feel I want things to go. She's not going to push an induction on me unless we need to, but is willing to do it after 39 weeks.

I have a practicum student coming in to work with me full time the 13-17, so I'm hoping I'll make it throught that, which would put me at 39 weeks. I can't believe a month from now I could be holding Lily!

ETA: I think i gained 2 pounds? Maybe? She does it so fast! I'm still under 200! :teeth: And my belly really got bigger these last 2 weeks, I have some major stretch marks, so whatever I did gain is all baby/amniotic fluid, etc...

Yeah, I thought we'd know for sure if there were 1 or 2 in there by now! When we went at 8 weeks there was only one that the ultrasound tech saw so we thought that was it and there wasn't any more mention of twins at the doctors appointment because they only heard one heart beat. This time around she said I was measuring a little bigger than normal for 19 weeks I guess (but everyone is different) and still really only heard one heartbeat. She said that there may be a small chance, but chances are there was only one. Gave me, my boyfriend, and mom quite nervous few minutes there though. We'll know tomorrow, though.

Question for all of you. When did you start buying and registering for baby stuff. I just got the bouncer I ordered from Kohls yesterday and it's the only thing I have so far and I feel like I should have more...

I'm glad to hear your internal went well! I was a bit worried about that. I don't want to deal with any pain before labor even starts :rotfl:

Isn't it crazy to think we could have our babies a month from now?! It's all I can think about lately.

That's good Lily is head down! That's definitely one of my worries. With my luck, Jake will be feet first. I keep thinking that since I have had such a yucky pregnancy that I deserve to have an easy birth but that probably won't happen :rotfl: And if I can't have an easy birth then I'm holding out for a really calm, easy baby ;)

That's actually one of the things I talked about with my doctor at my last appointment...I asked her what she thinks the chances are of my having a c-section since I REALLY don't want one if I can avoid it. She said she thinks the chances are really low unless something drastic happens (God forbid). She said if I keep up the low weight gain that will help too. Cause if I suddenly gain a lot of weight in the last month it could make the baby bigger, especially his shoulders and head, so that would make it difficult for him to make it out of the birth canal.

Here's to hoping for a non c-section birth for both of us :thumbsup2

I registered after I found out the sex of the baby. I didn't get to find out until 24 weeks so it was a little later than most people register I think.
