How did I post twice?

Sorry guys!

I also strongly agree with BellaBuggy's comments. Can you imagine when they grown up and show those pictures to their families? My girls love to look at their photos when they were younger at Disney! I love every second of that! They do remember certain details, actually the ones I forget! It is amazing!

The weekend passed by quickly like all weekends go, so I'm sure the other finalists like myself are hoping to stay busy so Wednesday will come soon. It's great to see so many other people watching the clock with us.

I am enjoying the conversation here, it does help to pass the time.

Partyof5 - I just read my private messages and sent one back to you!

OK, you have another... :) Just letting you know because I thought I used to get a pop up when I had a PM and I don't think that is currently working.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in and say I'm still here :cheer2: :cheer2: you on. I haven't had much time to post because my Grandmother passed away yesterday. We knew it was coming, but it happened a little sooner than the doctor predicted. When I get a chance I have been following the conversation here and you guys are helping make my day a little better. Just in case I don't get back on before Wednesday, good luck to all of you in round three!:woohoo: :thumbsup2

Thanks for checking in...so sorry to hear about your grandmother. :(

Made me sad to Leslie, I just couldn't imagine someone not having a good time. You know it's bad when you travel there w/out your kids. My mom keeps telling me, you know there are other places to go. I guess she just doesn't get it.
Julie

Sorry to hear that Tabitha, I will say a prayer for you and your grandmother. Just know you are not alone during this tough time!!!
Blessings,
Julie

Tabitha,

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I know it must be tough right now.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

Leslie

Tabitha,
I'm really sorry about you Grandmother. Even though Grandmas have lived a long time, it never seems long enough!:grouphug: I'm sending prayers your way!

In answer to today's question, there have been some doozies posted! The one that take's the cake in my own personal experience is:

"Why would you want to go to WDW when you can go some place REAL?"

Ouch!

After I pulled myself up off the floor, I responded that WDW is for the believer in all of us! When I go there I feel safe, I believe in magic~I believe anything is possible if you just open your mind and your heart! It is wonderful to see all that the human imagination can accomplish! If that isn't real, then it is better than real! Sometimes I want to let go of the "real" world and get carried away to a place where families can just be families. No pretense, no stress, just a little pixie dust and Disney magic!:tinker:

The misconception I hear most often is that it's only for those who like "rides" (thrill rides). Several families have said that they're scared of thrill rides, and I explain that many of the attractions at Disney are suitable for infants -- how scary can they be?! I also tell them that there's so much more to Disney than "rides." Their eyes glaze over by the time I'm finished telling them what else is there. ;)

I don't think it could be stated any better than this! This is exactly why we love WDW so much! I couldn't agree more! :flower3:

The biggest misconception is people thinking that 7 days in Disney is enough. I mean I stay on property all the time. I just got back yesterday from another 6 day trip. Everyone at work today said "Oh, you went again? What is there to do there for that long? Haven't you done everything?
Well, every time I go I still find new things to do. I dont know if I will ever have "done everything." They think we are crazy. But we do different things every trip. Dinsey has so many "other" things to do as well as the parks. There are so many secrets and little adventures to try. So many new resturants, new rides and activities popping up each few months. They just don't get it!

I'd like to take a stab at the question of the day ..

What is the strangest thing anyone has ever asked you about WDW? Or, what is the biggest misconception you've encountered about WDW?

I would say the biggest misconception I have encountered has to do with the 'right' age to go. People seem to think they have to wait until their kids will remember it, or conversely, that their kids are too old for it. I tell them that you don't want to miss that window when it's all 110% real to the kids, because that is when it's the most magical, when your child actually believes that their pirate ship is flying over London and Neverland, that jewels really are being thrown out into the audience during PhilharMagic, that kind of thing. Don't get me wrong, our trips are still magical, but now at 7, 10, and 14, they know it's really a ride or a show, still fun, yet not totally 'real'. Even if your kids won't really remember it, YOU will, so go and have fun! One of my best Disney memories is from my DS 10's first trip when he was 3 months. His eyes just lit up in IASW, he was absolutely captivated by the dolls and the music. He couldn't tell us he enjoyed it, but it was obvious by looking at him.

People also question if my DS 14 is all that into it anymore, and I tell them, yes, he is! Now, truthfully, Fantasyland doesn't have nearly the same appeal that it once did, his favorite park is now Epcot, but he still loves the whole experience. Same thing with older folks. My dad was 66 when he went with us last January. He told me that people at work assumed he went and just had fun watching the grandchildren enjoy themselves, and he most certainly did enjoy that, but he loves to tell people that he had just as much fun as they did!

Tabitha, I'm so sorry for your loss. We just lost my FIL last month and even though you know it's coming, somehow nothing can really prepare your heart for the loss. You are in my prayers. :grouphug:

I know exactly what you mean! We are going next month for a week. We only got a 2 day park hopper because we want to do everything else! This also happens to be our third trip this year.:rolleyes1

One more day of waiting...:hourglass

tick...tock...tick....tock

Continued luck to all!

My how time is just flying! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good luck to everyone.:thumbsup2

I'm trying to keep in mind that the best parts of life happen during the journey, not at the final destination. This certainly has been a great (although sometimes stressful) journey. So glad for the experience, and to have met so many fantastic "travelers" along the way.

Morning everyone!

Okay, anyone have a new question of the day? I am not awake enough yet to think of one!

Well pretty soon you all will know if you made it. What an exciting time! I want to thank so many of you for sharing your excitement with us!:goodvibes :cool1:

I have a silly question not really worthy of a question of the day but....:cloud9: when you are on vacation at Disney where do you go and what do you do to just slow things down and smell the :rose:?:hippie: :coffee:
