Moms Panel Results!?

Just wanted to pop in again!

This thread has been crazy w/activity today! I guess you guys are all so excited!

You know, it is just mind-boggling to me that on a panel of 12--there are 12 of you already confirmed on these boards (maybe more).....

I can't even believe some of you are going to be on that board and taking a free trip to Disney World and getting trained to do it!

Imagne that! Disney is going to be telling you about them! :rotfl:

Hi.
It's been such a busy week but I wanted to drop in and say thanks to everyone for the well wishes on the interview. I was SO nervous! And excited!

I felt good about the interview when it was done but I don't know if that was just my initial relief and then my excitement over talking to Disney! I don't know if I was too emotional and not specific enough answering the questions but we know how hard that is when talking about the things we love so much (our children, WDW, our kids, WDW....!!)

Now I'm second guessing myself here and there but I think the waiting is just getting the better of my nerves. Ultimately I hope I did my best and gave this chance of a lifetime my best. i just didn't want to have any regrets whichever way the outcome is for me. Well, we'll see...

My 7 year old son said "mom they have to pick you, you know everything about Disney World". Out of the mouth of babes!

Now I'm trying to concentrate on our upcoming trip. We leave for California on Thanksgiving Day. This is our first time to Disneyland with our son. Of all years, we decided to branch out and try DL. I feel like I wasn't as connected to WDW this year but I am anticipating our next family trip to WDW some time in 2008. I think the grandparents will be coming with us again.

Pet: our dog named Disney, our bunny named Captain Jack
Town: small town now in PA. Grew up in Rochester NY
Favorite park: Magic Kingdom but I love the magic on the whole property (hotels, shops, parks, etc)

I just wanted to send my best wishes to all the finalists and to thank everyone for the encouraging words. Dreams do come true...so hang in there everyone! :tinker:

Kim, you will love DL! I love it when WDW vets try DL, Walt's original magic kingdom! I went there for the first time 6 years ago thinking it would be a once in a lifetime thing, that I wouldn't really want to go back again since WDW is bigger and so much closer, but I totally fell in love with DL and have been back a few more times with our next trip, first whole family vacation to DL being in about 2 weeks! :cool1:  :yay:

Ditto on the Disneyland. It was so cool. The same Disney Magic but a little different than Disney World. It was pretty cool. We were at the Hyatt Resort in Huntingdon Beach too! (dh business trip). The resort was awesome! We went to DL for 3 days. It was a little chillier than I expected.

I hope all the finalists are relaxing this weekend.

Keep us posted!

Relax? Relax! That is not possible! And we have an extra hour to wait this weekend with the time change! Ugh!

:hourglass

Just kidding...it hasn't been that bad...but I can't wait for Wednesday...I think...I don't ever want this to end! So I guess it depends on what they have to tell me!!

Wow, just off this board so many of us will be close. Karen is going to DL in 2wk and now Kim you are going after Thanksgiving. We will be leaving on the 28th for our first trip to DL and I felt the same way. If I would have made it to the panel I would have traveled to DL and six days after our return headed to WDW. Oh well, I guess there is not to need to worry about that.

P.S. I would always locate our thread by just doing a search and now it won't come up when I search for it. anyone know an easier way for me to find us next time. I'm somewhat new to this board and freaked out this morning when I thought I lost you guys.

You said it was chilly, how chilly was it? We are from south Tx. so I consider my kids to be wimps when it comes to the cold. Any suggestions on what I should pack for them. My parents are traveling with us and my mom said layer in the morning and at night.

I have the thread bookmarked so I do not have to search...I bring up the thread via the bookmark and then click on the link that says View First Unread.

We were at DL in March. It was in the 40-50's. It was a little rainy and windy. I don't know if November will be any better. I am really not experienced with the CA weather! I would just check weather.com right before leaving. We actually had sweatshirts and jackets. The girls had jean capris and that wasn't the best choice for them!

I forgot to mention to say "congrads" to those who just recently posted and made it to the 3rd round (and the 2nd rounders who didn't make it). Welcome to our little group! It sure has been a fun way to communicate!

Also, I am unable to pull up this board the way I went in before. I don't know what happened. I don't know what went wrong? Any tips?

Just found out the dates of the Pirate and Princess party for 2008. We are going in Feb. and it worked out. I am so excited! Just got our tickets! The lady was so nice on the phone. It just is soooo Disney!

Take care!
Leslie

Thanks Diane, I did this, and it works great!

I want to thank all of you who took the time to read my post! I really do appreciate the support; I guess I needed a little therapy:worried: ! You are such a wonderful group of people with huge hearts! Disney is lucky to have any of you on the panel!

I am SO proud of all of you! Those who have made it this far, I know you will make the rest of us so happy!

This board is definately a blessing!

44 days until CR & FWR!!!!

  :grouphug: :grouphug:

I forgot about the time change so I found myself with some extra time on my hands before we go to church and thought I'd check in. This thread and everyone posting to it has been so nice! Thank you very much for the kind words and support - I know it means a lot to all of us. Whether I make it or not, this has been a great experience and I've really enjoyed getting to know all of you. :grouphug:

A few things for you...

On the top left of the page under the DIS boards logo you will see "User CP", if you click on that your subscribed threads show up. You have subscribed to a thread if you have replied to it. Only certain ones show up everytime, so at the bottom of that list you will see a button to click on that says "view all subscribed theads". You will see our thread there. That is another easy way if you don't have it bookmarked. It is also a nice way to see what threads you have posted to in the past if you want to revisit something.

As for DL weather, I agree with the others, make sure to have layers. The weather looks to be in the mid 70's with lows in the mid 50's. If you are from the south, you would probably be fine in jeans and a t-shirt with a sweatshirt.

Have fun at the Pirate and Princess party, it is so much fun to try something new! :)

My last two trips to DL have been in January. Daytime highs were in the upper 60s to maybe low 70s, but mostly upper 60s. Because it was January and we were coming from MD (now we live in PA) upper 60s felt almost tropical to us, so we were fine in jeans and short sleeved shirts, with sweatshirts for morning and evening. It was so funny, though, you could tell the people who were locals, like the CM's, because they were all bundled up, even with gloves on!

I've been checking weather.com and for this upcoming week, daytime highs are supposed to be about 80 with lows in the 50s. I am hoping it stays like this for our trip in less than two weeks!!! :cool1: :rotfl2:  :yay:

We need a new question of the day. It is a little quiet around here...

What was your last family trip that was NOT to Disney? Do you have any non-Disney trips planned?

Our last trip not Disney related was this past summer, we did a monster road trip to Yellowstone National Park.

We drove 55 hours and 2500 miles total! All 7 of us and our luggage stuffed in a minivan. We drove through the badlands, to Mt. Rushmore and then spent 5 days in Yellowstone. We stayed at Old Faithful Inn. It was such a fun trip! No air conditioning, no TV. The kids were a little nervous because of course, I played up the no TV or air and made it seem like we would really be roughing it. I told them I wasn't sure if they had toilets that flush or if it was just port o potties. Hee hee hee. (Of course they have regular toilets that flush for those of you that are wondering.)

I was an amazing adventure, even the DS15 said that he wanted to go back and try it out in Winter! Cool! :)

Next non-Disney trip is to Mexico with my in-laws to celebrate MIL's 50th birthday!

Sounds like a great trip. My family did lots of car travel trips when I was a child, but I haven't been that brave with my own kids. There's really something special about being "on the road."

We went to DL in Feb 2006 and stayed at the Grand Californian. I haven't heard much talk about Disney's California Adventure (and from what I've been reading lately people in general seem disappointed in it, so the powers-that-be are planning big changes) but we LOVED it. It was so easy being able to leave the hotel and walk directly into the park. Also, my girls are such WDW veterans that the more traditional amusement park aspects of DCA were exciting for them. They had never been on a Ferris Wheel and thought it was the greatest part of DCA.

This summer we were in LA again. For a lot of complicated reasons, we couldn't get back to DL. We did end up driving down to San Diego and went to LegoLand, SeaWorld, and the San Diego Zoo. We stayed at the Del Coronado, a very family friendly hotel. Overall, a very nice trip.

Our last family trip that was not Disney was to Ocean City, MD in August 05. Every few years my whole family pitches in and rents a huge condo right on the beach for a week and we all stay together. It is really fun, my kids love hanging out with their cousins all week and the adults enjoy it too! We all take turns with the cooking, cleaning up, and laundry (and 12 people at the beach, with 6 of them being kids, creates a TON of laundry:laundy: )so it's never a burden on one person, and basically just catch up and enjoy each other's company. It's a very relaxing trip!

EEFoster, I really like DCA too! I think the changes planned for it sound fabulous and I'm very excited about them, but I don't think it's bad at all just as it stands right now! I went in with kind of low expectations because of all the negativity I had read about it on the internet, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I prefer DCA to MGM (or excuse me, Disney's Hollywood Studios, not sure when I'll get used to that) and maybe even to AK, though now with Expedition Everest, it's a tough call!

Hi everyone! Just got back from Disney World about 2 hours ago. We really lucked out....it didn't even drizzle at all on Halloween at the Not So Scary Halloween Party! It was amazing! I left home on Monday for our trip very bummed after the rejection email about making it to round three. But the trip was amazing and made all of my rejection blues go away!

I see you all have had a pretty eventful week. I did not get a chance to see what everyone has been chatting about yet. I will read them all later after I unpack. I was just wondering if anyone could recap how the phone interviews went?
