Mom's of Boys - Maybe TMI

I was giving my 2 1/2 yo DS a bath. He is uncircumcised. I noticed that his pee pee was a little swollen in the middle. His foreskin is not fully retracted yet. He has no problem peeing and it doesn't seem to bother him. I called the dr and he said to bring him in tomorrow if it is still swollen. Does anyone have any experience with this?

hmm.. my son had something familier to that matter. although he was four.I took him to the doctor and it could be various things. either he (tmi messed with it) or you know maybe some blatter problems. about a week later he was fine. It just depends on what he did. Hope this helps.

Well my guy was circumsised but he has some extra skin there and he got a strep infection, he had started bathing more independently and he wasnt doing the best job, he though did not have trouble peeing but he did have it get erect and it hurt him just in general. Dr gave us antibioitic to take and cream to put on.

He might simply have been practicing with retraction, and caused a little annoyance to it.

You might find more answers (and perhaps the ability to give more explanation, LOL) over on mothering dot com...lots of experts on intact boys there!

Anyway, my guy has had various things going on "down there", and I give it a day and it's fine. The things that kid does while becoming retractable...

I assume that your ped is knowledgable about intact boys? He won't do anything obnoxious (and painful) like retract him forcefully, right?

DS is uncircumsised and I remember him getting a little bit irritated from time to time as a toddler. I just used some type of "diaper ointment" for a day or two and it was always fine. He is 15 now and has never had a problem or concern.

My boys aren't circ.ed either. My oldest son was swollen down there one time and he had a yeast infection. It was more the skin that was swollen though. He had been on antibiotics one right after the other and that is what caused it.
