MOMS: Good finger foods for 9mo old?

*sigh* That's what I figured. We're going to the ped this week for a check-up...and I'm going to ask why no teeth yet!! Poor baby...she wants waffles in the worst way... :teeth:

My DD didn't cut her first tooth until she was almost 12 months old. (I think it was the week before her first birthday, although it has been almost 11 years since then ;) )

We fed her lots of cut up really small things. They "gum" the food up. Just make sure the food is soft, and in small pieces. I think waffles would be a great thing. They are very soft.

For some reason, (again this was many years ago) I think someone told me that the first couple of teeth they get don't really help with food chewing anyway.

Thank you to all who took the time to post a reply to me. This is all GREAT information. Gives me lots of good ideas to feed my boy!

For the record - he's got 8 teeth now... got his first tooth the day he turned 5 months old. I couldn't believe it! He loves to bite through the cheerios using his teeth, it's the funniest thing!

Happy feeding!
