THE WHOLE GANG!

I have to give a little background about the title of this update! I took the kids bowling yesterday which I will talk about in a minute, but whenever I'm at a bowling alley I can't help but think of this little phrase..."hop, skip, step....BOWL". When Jeff and I first got married and moved here to Rochester, we didn't know a lot of people. He had grown up here, but all his High School friends were either gone or still single. We were looking for some married/couple friends and also to just get to know new people, so we joined our church bowling league. Again, Jeff had grown up in the church, but we were newly back from college and newly married, so at a new place in life. Anyway...bowling....neither of us are any good, but it sounded like fun and a good way to get out and meet people. So, sign us up! We went faithfully and did enjoy our time, but there was a guy there who had the absolute FUNNIEST bowling ritual! He literally did a little "hop, skip, step dance" every time before he threw the ball! Jeff and I cracked up every time! :rotfl: And we STILL, 16 years later, think of him every time we bowl! So....that's why I had to title this update as I did...in his HONOR! :lmao:

So, every time the schools are on break here (which in my opinion is way too often!), we get a coupon in the mail from AMF Bowl. It's good for a free game of bowling for up to 10 people. My kids have taken this to mean that we MUST go bowling during every school break. I don't really mind, it's fun to hang out with them and they really enjoy it. However, the one free game is just a TRAP to get you in! The game itself only costs $2.75, but the shoes are $3.75 a pair for 12 and over and $2.75 for the little ones! :scared1: Needless to say it's far from FREE! But...we did have fun and I bowled a 144..GO ME!! My 15 year old nephew beat me by 2 pins....:headache:

Speaking of my nephew, I haven't introduced him yet, but he's pretty much my 4th son. He lives just around the corner and spends A LOT of time here. To give you an idea of how much, I usually plan my grocery purchases on having to feed 6 of us! His name is Josh and he is the other boy in the pictures I'm about to post!

I had to do a little happy dance  when I called in my Final Payment-I see you read my version of Zip-a-dee-doo-dah.

I looked at your schedule. It looks like we might run into each other at the Hollywood Studios or MGM or Disney Studios or whatever it is called this week.

BTW, your ptr is so organized. Is it just me, or does it seem like we are the only one's from this board going in April--Lots of March, May, June PTRs, but hardly April?

We're hitting the Studios on Thursday April 23rd....but we're also staying at the same resort so maybe we'll bump into each other in the Food Court, Gift Shop, Lobby, pool.....the possibilities are endless!

My PTR may be organized, but I wish I could get my life to follow suit!

Not sure about the April thing....I know Villainess is going in April, Carissa in late March/early April...there are a few of us out there!

144 - nice! :thumbsup2

Thank you very much!! (It's not typical...I'm usually hovering around the 100's somewhere!)

Ok I just had to post a funny bowling story....we used to go bowling all the time when my husband and I were first dating and then married w/ my BFF and her various boyfriends (she is now happily married and has a DS and one in the oven) anyhow...my BFF & I started this crazy bowling ritual of our own when my DH would get up to bowl which would make him so crazy at us....we'd dance and shake our booty's for lack of a better word.

Not to long ago she and her family were over and we were playing Wii bowling and just couldn't help ourselves...:rotfl:

BTW great GAME!

LOL!! That's a great story! It's so funny that after 16 years we still do that sing-songy "hop, skip, step..BOWL" EVERY time we go bowling! And yes...we do it when we play Wii bowling too! :lmao:

Ok, so I can't bowl to save my life. Haha. The little kids at DM's daycare are better than I am. Maybe I can use bumpers next time?? :lmao:

You're getting so close; yayy!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

On our trip in 2007 I thought we did pretty well with our snack credits. We were on the standard DDP so we got one snack per day. I remember getting Mickey bars, Rice Krispy treats, root beer floats, popcorn, Tinkerbell Twist slush, ice cream on Main Street.....maybe others that are escaping me right now.

Now on this trip we are doing the QSDP so we get 2 snacks each day.....WOO-HOO!!!:woohoo: I am doing my research and I want to make really good use of those snack credits. So far, here are the snacks I am sure I want to try. Please let me know if you have a favorite or if I have a glaring omission!

Norway Bakery at Epcot--we visited Norway on the last day of our trip last time and really rushed through. I definitely want to try SOMETHING from here!

Cappuccino Float--It looks like I can get one of these at several places in the MK as well as at Epcot. I looked long and hard last trip for a frozen coffee treat and came up empty. Now I know where to go!

Funnel Cake--From what I am reading you can only get Funnel Cakes for a snack credit at MK. Sign me up!!

Spicy Cheese Pretzel- Again it looks like I can snag one of these tasty treats at either DHS or MK. I LOVE me some spicy food and this looks SO GOOD!!

Tinkerbell Twist Slush--Had one last trip and really enjoyed it!

Main Street Bakery--We didn't even go in here last trip, so I definitely want to check it out. Is the giant cookie ice cream sandwich here? My boys would LOVE that!

Dole Whip Float--I am dying to try one of these!

Goofy's Candy Company--Definitely want to do the make your own pretzels or rice krispy treats.

Tiramisu at Starring Rolls--Has anyone had this? I love tiramisu, but sometimes it's hit or miss to find a good one.

Beignets at POFQ--looks like these would definitely be worth the walk over to POFQ!

All that being said.....I am more of a salty/savory kind of snacker and most of my choices are of the sweet variety. Any suggestions for non-sweet snacks that I missed? Thanks everyone! :goodvibes

I had funnel cake at Epcot and I give that two thumbs up.

At Main Street Bakery, every time we have gone, we get the death by chocolate cake (or something to that effect). It is ENORMOUS and me and my parents would share it for a snack. Really yummy as well. I think I remember them having ice-cream things as well...but it was ten years ago :)

Is there a list somewhere of all the snacks available and where they are located??? I didn't know about most of the ones you talked about.

Except I have had a DOLE WHIP and loved it!!!!!! I need one again.:lovestruc

I looked for a cold coffee drink on our last trip too...Its on the top of my list this time!
And Funnel Cakes...thats my SpectroMagic traditional snack!

Yum snacks!! It doesn't help that I'm starving at the moment! All of those sound wonderful, I wish we were on the DDP but I'm definatly going to try and get some of those things when we're down there! Mom has real sweet tooth so it shouldn't be too difficult! I haven't even heard of half the stuff you mentioned but it sounds wonderful! Two things that are on the top of my list are a Dole Whip and School Bread!

I need to try and find some pictures of some of the snacks so I can get a better idea, especially if we do DDP in July!

How many days left till you guys leave?

Here are two links that you can use to check out snack options. One is a list, the other has pics. Be careful...these are very dangerous!

Enchanted Cove in Fantasy Land, Sunshine Terrace in MK have the Cappuccino Float. Sleepy Hollow at MK also has iced cappuccino.
