I will have to keep my eyes peeled while at AK to watch for DeVine!

You MUST see DeVine, she is fabulous! We asked a cast member if she would be appearing while we were walking from Africa to Asia and she let us know what time to look for her!

Thanks for the tip about heading over to the Safari first thing in the morning. We will also be at WDW during the off season. I think I'll take your advice about heading to EE next as well. I'm really looking forward to riding it for the first time!

Awesome pics from Flights of Wonder!! Very cool you got to go up on stage and get those amazing shots!! LOVE watching Jilly "feed the benches" too cute!!! We saw the FOTLK show immediately after the parade was finished, I am pretty sure we were in the Lion section! Animal Kingdom is such a beautiful park, we missed out on DeVine so I LOVED seeing your pics Jen!!

Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet back up on your first night. Next trip I'm bringing a flashlight to Illuminations! (I have everything else in my backpack, why not?) I'm sure now that is was you and Jilly I saw going into the restrooms afterwards. We left a few minutes before it was over too. The rock I was sitting on was not very comfortable. I'm sure it was designed so that nobody sits on it for Illuminations.

I loved your Epcot at night pic with Spaceship Earth in the background so much I saved it to be my desktop background at work.

Love the pics with Jilly and her Figment plush! I got one too this trip!

I don't know why I had it in my head you were going in July... Now that we've been to Disney in April and September I don't think we'd ever go any other time!

I haven't told her we're going because chances are slim that we'll actually be able to do it. Although Jed did say something about a possible side job that will pay VERY well...hmmm...

Once the benches had been fed, we made our way into the Tree of Life. We waited outside the theater and modeled our “honorary bug glasses.”

After a few minutes, the doors opened and the show began! As I expected, Jilly was pretty freaked out through the whole show and refused to wear her bug glasses. I held her in my lap for a while so she wouldn’t feel the “stinging” or the bugs exiting the theater. Jed must have been sitting too far forward because he didn’t get stung. He didn’t really remember the show from our last trip, so he was really amused by the feeling of the bugs running along the seat. When the show was over, Jilly was all too happy to return her glasses and exit the theater! I was just relieved that we had made it through the whole show and I hadn’t had to run from the theater with her screaming in my arms!

Next we stopped to watch the Village Beatniks for a little bit...

Then we walked over to Camp Minnie Mickey.

There was a 12:00 showing of Festival of the Lion King starting so we walked right in and got our seats. I was beyond excited because Jed hadn’t seen it on our last trip since it was closed for refurbishment. The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie, so this show is my favorite!

We sat in the Lion section (right between Simba and Pumba), so we got to work on our ROARS!

Once the show was over, we headed over to the trails to finally meet some characters!! I asked Jilly who she wanted to meet first, and without hesitation she said, “Minnie!”

While we waited in line, Jed and Jilly passed the time by blowing "zerberts" on each other's faces...

After about fifteen minutes, Jilly had her first Disney character interaction! She was all smiles while Minnie signed her autograph book and then she gave her the BIGGEST hug! I realized right away this would be her favorite thing to do on the trip!

After meeting Minnie, we got in line to see Mickey. That line took us about 25 minutes, but it was worth it to meet the most famous mouse on the planet! Once again, Jilly was star struck and had a permanent grin on her face the whole time!

Ooooo I'm jealous! That's the week I want to go! The crowd levels are really low according to touringplans.com...and our anniversary is on Labor Day this year! We went for our honeymoon in 2003 and it was awesome!

The pic of all three of us is on the cover of the book I made on PhotoPass...it's my favorite! I did make our tie dye shirts following instructions on another thread. I found it by googling Mickey Tie Dye and it was the first hit! And yes...there were a FEW more character greetings!!!
