Mommune, it sounds like Golden Girls, but for Moms & kids, love it!

This read to me like the Golden Girls and made me smile. What an outstanding solution for single moms struggling with the financial and support issues they face. I have known a few women who did versions of this with one due to having a spouse in the military, one due to divorce and another who was widowed.

My step daughter and her child lived with her friend and children for a couple years. It worked for a while until certain lifestyle differences got to be too much.

I looked for a few clips on You Tube and you are completely right, I forgot about that one. Jane Curtin was so funny.

Totally agree. She got a lot of parenting help since the father is not in the picture.

Most of the problems came because the friend’s kids were entering the teen years and getting kind of rude and mouthy.

Mostly, I think it's a great idea. Besides emotional and practical support for the moms (and kids) it can help alleviate the typical financial status impacts of divorce.

My only concern would be putting the kids through yet another "parental figure" loss if the arrangement comes to an end because of the mom(s) moving on/getting married again.

Overall though, I think the idea would do more good than harm.
