Momma, I got to dance with Flynn Ryder! A January 2011 TR.

I'm glad to hear yesterday went well and all that was shed was a tear or two! Sam looks at home in her new dorm and am glad she managed to come back for her laptop - why is it that there always has to be something that gets left behind? Enjoy your nap :goodvibes

Thanks:goodvibes It was a good day! Sam forgetting her laptop is funny, because she always forget something in her everyday life! Once she called me from work and asked me to bring her shoes! She forgot her tennis shoes and couldn't wear flip flops in a resturant!:rotfl2:

CUT THAT OUT! Now you're making ME cry and it's not my kid!

You have obviously done a great job with her and have every right to be proud and shed some tears.

Hmmmm.... should I feel bad that I don't remember my mom crying when she dropped ME Off at school???? :rotfl2: And I wasn't going home until Thanksgiving!

Tell Sam we're all immensely proud! :cool1:

 Thank-you, I appreicate that! Without going into too much detail, I didn't have a great mother figure in my life so I know when I had Sam, I wanted to be.
She's doing so much more (education wise) in her life than I did, it's awesome to see what she accopmplished.
Sam says thanks, she also says I should tell people that I need to stop worrying so much! (like that will ever happen)

Great pictures. That bed looks so small. I never went to college, so I am not so familiar with all the dorm stuff (I went to "beauty schooL"...it didn't help me any. :lmao:) Is she very far away from home? Does she have a car there? Just nosey! :rolleyes1

Be as nosey as you'd like! The bed is small, the twin sheets we got are baggy on the mattress. I got her a padded cover and a foam pad and she says it's ok.
I never went to college either, so this was my first experiance with dorms as well. It was small, my living room is bigger than her 2 person dorm and my living room is 15x15!

Hey! I like your hair, I have thin straight hair that does NOTHING I would like it to. :sad2:

Sam's school is in Fond du Lac, which is an hour and 15 minutes away from here. She's about and hour and 15 north of Milwaukee.

She does have her car, and after she spends the first month at school (she wanted to get familiar witht he campus and get to know people) she going to come home every other weekend for work. She kept her job at the supper club she works at and they love her and are willing to rotate her in as she can make time.

I was so proud of her today, she was up early :faint: ready and in class 10 mintues early :cheer2: and went to the library:scared1:
She a changing right before my very eyes!:rotfl2:

I am sure that Sam will get all of her things settled in and organized in no time. I'm not gonna lie, it's tough having your kids living away from home but it does get better with time.

I'm feeling the same way right now. Robbie got himself up and out the door to drive to school the last 2 days. No pushing, no prodding, no running late. Given that we fought all summer about when he had to get up in the mornings and that he didn't get his license until last Monday, it's been a remarkable and welcome change!

And sometimes at this age, it's tough having them at home too! :lmao:

It's funny, I thought I'd be really missing her, BUTTT since she has Skpe'd with us almost evry nigt and txts me a 100 times a day, it doesn't feel to weird yet!:rotfl2:
I do miss her, but I think she having a great time. She went to a carnival with her roomate and won some door prizes, one of the prizes being a fan which she really needed since the cord on hers frayed recently and I didn't think it was safe to bring to college.

Crazy! I swear, if I find all it took was for her to really be on her own to be more responsible for her schedule, I would have kicked her to the curb years ago!:lmao:

She called yesterday and told me her english paper was done for the next week and I think I had to sit down for a moment!:rotfl2:

Well the good news today is that tomorrow is 18 DAYS until Disney!:dance3:

And since there isn't any bad news, I'll just say that I'm really tired. I went back to work yesterday:sad2: Which meant I was up at 5am, got ready, woke Kadence up for her first day of 2nd grade, dropped her off at the sitters, worked all day, came home only the send Kadence off with John's parents because we got tickets to go the the Green Bay Packer game!:cheer2:

I don't care what it took, but seeing them step up to the plate at such a critical turning point in life just makes us proud, doesn't it???? :goodvibes

I work in Waupaca for the school district, and we lost power at our High School on friday as well. My school kept it's power. I was in Appleton this morning and saw a couple of huge billboards just bent right over!

My MIL lives in Weyauwega and they lost 3 power poles and a transformer! They may get power back by Tuesday.

We're thinking about go to the kick off concert on Thurdsay. Well see how the weather goes!
