"Mom, why does the Magical Bus have to be the happiest and the saddest bus?"NEW 8/24!

Hello there!!!! Finally I start my trip report from our wonderful family vacation!!!

The title comes from my loving 5 year old son who asked me this little question on our way back to the airport after our week long trip, I told him everyone else feels the SAME EXACT way Buddy, we have a love/hate relationship with the "Magical" Bus!!

It's me (Beth), my dad (Gary), our friend (Donald), my son (Gabe), my mom (Nancy), my daughter (Helen), and my hubby (Cory)!! I feel like I am introducing my team for Family Feud or something...

We left for our trip Saturday, April 24th and had to sadly return home on Saturday, May 1st. We stayed in connecting rooms at French Quarter, we had 6 Day Park Hoppers and took advantage of the "free" Disney transportation!!!!

Okay, I got started, hopefully I can get travel day started soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting Ready To GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The night before we got the kiddos bathed, into PJ's and in bed by 8:30! We had enjoyed hot hoagies and "The Princess and the Frog" for dinner and we were all wiped out! The kids fell right to sleep, I finished packing up and Cory got the camera and other electronics ready, checked us in, and he also informed me he was "LEAVING HIS LAPTOP HOME!!!" Four words I was hoping he would tell me!! This was a "NO WORK VACATION ZONE"!!!

Here is the last pic of the night of me packing up the Potato Heads for the kids:

I laid out there clothes and mine and got to bed by 11:30pm and actually fell right to sleep!!! Alarm woke me up at 6:00am and Cory and I both got showered, packed up the truck and headed to my parents by 7:45am!

Here are Helen and Gabe with a FULL Countdown Calendar!!!

My aunt and her friend met us there too and drove my parents to the airport and we followed. We were at the airport by 8:15, she drove our truck home and we got our bags checked and headed through Security and walked to our gate. We had a little snack and Java and were boarded on the plane ready to go at 10:15am!!! Then we hear, "Ladies and Gentlemen, we need to change the tires, this will set us back about 30-40 minutes"...BOOOOOOO HISSSSSSSSSS!!!

LUCKILY, by 10:45 we were taking off and on our way to FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh - Tires?? Really?? At least it wasn't too long of a delay...but still...not the way anyone wants to start their vacation!

Hi Karen!!! The kids LOVED every bit of it, except the leaving part The delay wasn't long thank goodness, we had to wait on the plane though and let's just say Helen was a bit wiggly!!

at least it was not too bad of a wait!

I guess we were glad they discovered this issue BEFORE we took off! I watched them roll one of the tires away so at least we were told honestly what they were doing!! Thankfully it didn't take too much longer, I was just so excited to leave!!!!

Sooooo excited that you are started on your TR!! That stinks that you had to wait on a tire to get changed on the airplane. That was because you weren't quite in Disney yet, where all things are magical.

Yay, for the no work zone. I hope he stuck to it the whole vacation. My DH always says he's not going to work, but then ends up on the phone half the time.

Can't wait to hear more.
