This is the question i got from my 8 year old son tonight! That one just stumped me. I have always spoken honestly to my kids and answered their questions as best I could so they could understand. (Today we were at the cemetery with my Mom & Dad and DD4 so you can IMAGINE the questions I got there! But that's another thread..)
First I wanted to know which way he meant and why he was asking. Came out that a kid on the bus told everyone that two boys were sexing in the bathroom. Uhhh..am i out of it? Does that mean something? I just told him that kids his age hear words and they are not sure of what they mean but they still say them. He has heard all the swear words on the bus and just the other day said the "f" word. (and he knew right away that was so wrong and sent himself to his room. We had a nice little chat after that)
DS has had a lot of questions. He has seen pictures and knows where babies come from - I had a good book when I was pregnant with DD. He has asked a lot of questions on how babies get inside a woman. I can't believe that we were having "the talk" at such a young age. But when he asks me questions I feel that I have to tell him. I want him to know the truth and not believe the stuff that comes out on the bus.
Just a short while ago he asked me what "gay" meant. Geez...when I was 8 we never heard of any of these things!
This parenting thing gets harder and harder...I'm just glad that he feels comfortable enough to ask me these things. (DH conveniently slipped out of the room after the first question
)

Silly
While talking on the phone earlier today we both said we really have to watch what we say. What's the saying ? Little pictures ?
