The best way to lose five pounds take three youngsters to Disney World. There were many skeptics when I was planning a trip to Disney with DD4, DS3 and DS 7 months (DB for purposes of this write up). Everyone said find another adult to go with you. And I tried. I tried grandparents, friends, husband
no one wanted to go. So I decided fine, we are going any way. And Im glad we did.
The kids love talking about it and have already asked when we are going back wouldnt mind going again but boy, that other adult would be helpful! Oh well. I already want to plan another trip! LOL
Day One
4:45 a.m. everyone is up, I took a shower and we are getting dressed and ready to head on out. Everyone is very excited.
5:15 a.m. we are loaded up and off for our one hour drive to the airport.
6:30 we arrive at the airport, find a place to park the car and figure out a way to transport all of us and the luggage to ticketing. DD is pushing the stroller with DS and DB and we head in to ticketing. The suitcase was 49 pounds 50 and we would have had to pay more $, good thing it wasnt!
8 a.m. We are all boarded on the plane and headed to Florida. DB nurses and falls asleep relatively easily. DS and DD start digging in to the snacks to entertain them. They colored and only fought once over who uses which coloring book and kept each other relatively busy for the three hour flight.
11:20ish a.m. We arrive early only I cant find where the Disney Magical Express check-in is located. I know area A, but I dont see signs to direct me to Disney, and area A is very large for all those going it is located past baggage claim next to the Budget car rental counter. That was quite the feat walking around the airport, finding elevators and asking where to go. Oh, and you need to check in at the desk, not just head out to a bus learned that lesson too ..
No shows on the bus, there were TV monitors, but none were on. The kids were getting ancy and hungry so the bus ride kinda dragged on, but not too bad.
Check in at Caribbean Beach Resort went relatively smoothly. The kids were entertained while I waited in line. There is a waiting area for the children to watch movies and color while you wait in line to check in that was a nice feature!
We requested Martinique (closer than some to Port Royale) and first floor. We got both.
We got a ride from a friendly bell hop to our room and settled in.
We put on bathing suits and headed to Port Royale for lunch. The Bell Hop had us walking through the parking lot rather than around the lake, not sure why. But we found it, got some food the hamburger was overcooked and not so great, but I was starving, so it was OK. DD had the chicken nuggets that come in sand buckets and DS got a hot dog no bucket. However a sweet boy nearby didnt want his bucket so he gave it to DS. I bought a refillable mug lesson learned about Dining Plan, if you have the refillable mug go ahead and pick up a bottled water or OJ or milk for later so that you get the money out of the dining plan.
After going down the slide (which the kids loved) and playing in the water we go back to the room. I was hoping the kids would nap, but no such luck. We all washed off and dressed. No naps were taken. We load up our backpacks and head to the bus stop.
The magic began when the kids saw some bunnies hopping along. They were quite excited of course, my mission was to find our way to the bus stop, so I corralled them and we headed to the bus house.
Bus load our first of many bus trips. Put the backpack on my back, close up the stroller, hold the baby and keep an eye on the other two kids, load up on the bus. Within minutes all three kids were asleep!! Figures. I felt like everyone was looking at me and thinking how crazy I was to be traveling with three munchkins.
We get to Magic Kingdom, have a CM help me with the front pack, I think someone helped me carry the stroller off the bus and I load the older two in the stroller. DD is out cold, DS revives.
Backpacks and bags have to come off prior to getting in the park for security check. We get inside the park and there is Mickey Mouse. DS is excited! DB is sleeping and DD cannot be woken up as much as we tried. We saw a few more characters and headed to Crystal Palace for dinner.
The check in line for dinner was long! I cant imagine not having reservations. We finally check in, all children are now awake and we find a seat to wait for our turn to eat. As we sit we can see Cinderellas Castle and can hear the beginning of the Cinderella show. Then buzz, its our turn to eat.
The four of us head in and its explained to us that the characters come to the table and that we should be ready with cameras and autograph books. A character is headed our say so we hang out and wait before getting food. Everyone is thrilled.
Dont remember much but dinner was good. The mashed potatoes and turkey were yummy. The kids ate some chicken nuggets and fruit DD loved the graham crackers and DB was yelling so loud when I went to get refills (because he wanted food) that I could hear him all the way across the huge, packed dining room. DD did her best to find some food to quiet DB down while I was refilling plates. I am still shocked that I could hear him yell across the entire establishment!
We eat and head out to the park. First stop, walk through Cinderellas Castle and the shops there. We walk out of the shop with gold Minnie Mouse headband ears for DD and a Captain Hook pirate hat for DS (which I think I wore more than he did!).
We head to the carousel and go for a ride. Then to Dumbo.
By now its getting late and we head out to find a spot for the parade but alas, our stroller is MIA. Apparently CMs move strollers around the park depending on whats going on, another lesson learned. We locate our stroller and begin walking to find where to go. We find loads of people and get rather close before some lady begins complaining that shes been there an hour and we are blocking her view. I assure her that when the parade begins we will move over (a CM had us move back which got us in her way). She wasnt very nice.
Any way the light parade begins and the kids move over (I move the stroller back, though I didnt need to, but wanted to show that lady I was going do what I said). Any way, the kids loved the parade. I tried getting in touch with my friend that we were planning to meet with but they were in a different part of the park.
The parade was great and we all enjoyed it.
Following the parade I got in touch with my friend and we decided to try to watch the fireworks together. After much finagling, (and Im sorry for running over some toes with the stroller) we meet up on Main Street and watch the show at this point DB is in the front pack and DD and DS are in the stroller. DS fell asleep and missed the fireworks (he claims we never watched them). We all enjoyed the show, particularly Tinkerbelle flying across the sky.
Following the fireworks the crowd was tight. We split with my friend and found some tables off the beaten path where we sat and I nursed the baby while people left the park. We then head out when some of the crowd died down with a brief walk-through a shop. The line for the monorail was HUGE, but the bus line was manageable and two buses pulled up for CBR. We loaded up, backpacks on and stroller folded up and head onto the bus.
We unload, we were the first stop! And head back to the room. My boxes that were shipped ahead of time had not been delivered so I called the front desk and they said the boxes would be on the way.
I get the kids cleaned up and pjs on. It takes everyone a bit to wind down from our exciting day. By the time the boxes arrive, around 11 p.m. everyone is calming down and we all hit the hay.
