Mom & Son-One More Time w/Dad! 11 days of DxDDP-10/21, Grand Finale, FF Chef's Table!

Woah, that's so cool! I have a friend who just started her freshman year at the Culinary Institute of America. Since it's only a 1.5 hour drive away, it would be cool to visit her and try something like that. The chef's counter at Flying Fish sounds like a similarly neat experience. :thumbsup2

A friend of mine's husband runs the restaurant so she arranged for the Chef to come out and offer us the tasting menu. He came out and actually asked us if we would "allow" them to cook a special meal for us! Uh, yes, please!! It was truly fantastic!

My DD just saw the pic of the dessert at LTT and said "Are we going there?" Yes, we are. "I am SO getting that when we go there!!!" :rotfl:

I had this last time we were there. It was good.

We won't be having any this trip! I am definitely going to miss it!

Wow! Really looking forward to that Chef's table review! And I agree about the money - we spend so much on the trip - what's a few more?:confused3

Oh my goodness! I may ONLY have ooey gooey toffee cake at LTT. I'll show them to take the tri-corner sandwich off of the menu. I'll just eat the best thing they have to offer in my opinion!! :yay:

We've never been to LTT but that cake has just made me add it to the wish list :cool1:

I cannot wait for your chef's table experience. It should be worth every penny. I think I will need to pass on your glowing review of the burger at Les Chefs to DH. He will be excited.

That toffee cake is the reason we booked LTT lunch! :goodvibes

The toffee cake is the reason I booked it too!!

Since they changed the fried cheese and took the chicken & dumplings and tri-corner sandwich off the menu, it is the only reason I would eat there!

Yeah, that is kind of my thought. We hardly ever eat out at home anymore and only in "fancy" restaurants for special occaisons. At a previous job, I earned great bonus money so we ate out often. Now the dining on our Disney trip is our treat. We are all such foodies that the dining is almost a bigger part of our trip than the Parks!

I agree. Have thought about just going in for dessert! We'll see ...

Yes, ma'am ... definitely add it in for that dessert!

I am excited, too. And yes, tell your DH that the burger was simply amazing! Everything worked perfectly together. Definitely the very best burger I have ever had, no contest.

In honor of jabead's upcoming Via Napoli review, my pizza from last year ...

That pizza looks awesome! I don't see it on the menu was it a build your own? I'm an olive lover so I want olives added to whatever we order. :thumbsup2

You know..I'm looking forward to our Via Napoli lunch for another reason....:woohoo: got a little Dismeet planned afterward.... :dance3:

YUM...olives!!! I love them, but like blue cheese, it is another food that not one other person in my family will eat. :crazy2: I can't believe they are related to me! :lmao:

And I'm so jealous of your Dismeet! :p I wish I could be there too, but I will just have to settle for pictures...so don't forget to take some! :thumbsup2

For today, the sampler platter at 50's Prime Time! I am definintely a bit bummed that we aren't eating there this trip. This was really yummy!

Ok, don't blame me, blame DH. We have been going over our "final" plans this morning and I realized that we are awfully EPCOT-centric because of the dining. So I told DH we needed to try to make a few changes. We have had trips in the past that we actually ended up dreading those EPCOT turnstiles at the end of the trip because we had spent so much time there.

So our first day, we will now go to the MK. That is a first for us. We always start out in EPCOT. Gave DH the choice of Tony's, The Plaza or Liberty Tree and he who does not like Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake picked Tony's. We did have a really nice lunch there last year and I do love the atmosphere so I am Ok with that.

So, now I need to move Rose & Crown. Moved it in place of Via Napoli. Sad to remove VN from our plans but I don't see another choice. Will still be in EPCOT for our planned Dismeet though! :thumbsup2

And DH asked me about Mama Melroses so I swapped out Tutto Italia. Being in DHS, I would have preferred 50's but DH really did not want to go there so MM it is!

So ultimately we cancelled two probably above average italian places for two medicore italian places with great atmosphere. I do love the theming at both Tony's and MM and I guess that is part of what Disney is all about.

So there you have it. All changes noted in post 8!

I think your new choices sound great
I know what you mean though, if you're not careful every single meal ends up being in Epcot, it's good to mix it up a bit and I'm all about the atmosphere :rotfl2:

That's funny because I cancelled Mama Melroses and replaced with VN! We will still be at Tony's for lunch. I have on my list to try R&C someday....

After reading your post, I went back and looked at how many Epcot meals we have since they tend to consume our dining plans. But it looks like I've swapped out many of those for more resort restaurants. Isn't figuring out the perfect dining plans (there are a million and one combos) like a sport? ;) You still have some time to make more changes!! :lmao:

Thanks for posting the photo of the sampler from 50's PT. I want to try and talk Em into sharing that with me! :thumbsup2

Exactly. We can get great italian food here and I think I am also a decent red sauce maker so the atmosphere is a bit more important for us.

Yes, ma'am! Definitely a sport, my fingers are getting cramped! :rotfl:

Actually made more changes last night! I really need to just stop now! Swapped our Tokyo Dining dinner for Hacienda. DS admitted last night that he had really wanted to eat there. Why didn't you say that before! :furious: And since I really want to try Tokyo Dining, I swapped it for Rose & Crown. The plan is to try the Rose & Crown Pub for the English Bulldog and Scotch Egg on our eat around the World day. That kind of covers everything.

Yes, yes, Em should share that platter with you! Sooooo good. I would have picked that over MM but DH requested MM so that is what I did. He doesn't voice an opinon too often ... usually it is just "whatever you want is fine with me" so when he does, I try to oblige! :)
