Mom of teens needs input!

I am bringing my 16 yo daughters to WDW in August. They aren't Disney Freaks like their mom and I am trying to get them excited.

What restaurants do you think they'll like? Which water park is best for a one day visit? Any other non-park activities? Basically, these girls like to shop!

My favorite resteraunt is Jiko and I loved BB when I went for a water-park day.

Here is a short list of what me and my friend (both 18) did on our last trip...
Some of our ideas:
1. Downtown Disney shopping/food (Ghiradelli's ice cream, WGPE for dinner)
2. Coffee at The Writer's Shop Starring Rolls - Attached to Brown Derby
3. Paper Fan from China
4. Exposition Hall in MK (cardboard cutouts for pictures)
5. Cartoon Drawing class at MGM (free)
6. Tamu Tamu Rootbeer Float in AK (get a free souvineer straw)
7. Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain at night. (makes the rides scarier)
8. Ice Station Cool in EPCOT
9. Get hair frenchbraided at MK (micky sparkles)
10. Listen to phone outside candy shop on Main Street (can hear a conversation)

What restaurants do you think they'll like? Tune in totheir interests. Like, I'm into the 1950s era, and I love Sci-Fi & 50s Prime Time in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Which water park is best for a one day visit? It really depends. I'm in to action, so Blizzard Beach is my go-to. If they're not in to that, Blizzard Beach is still good. I haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon in ages, so hopefully someone else can advertise for them.

Any other non-park activities? Downtown Disney is a must, then, especially if they like to shop! I'd also suggest the World Showcase at EPCOT. Each country has their own mall of a store with A LOT of things to buy.

Me & my sister are 17 & 19 and here are some of our favourite things:

1) Typhoon Lagoon--it's way less crowded/chaotic than Blizzrd Beach
2) SHOPPING in DTD!!!
3) World Showcase in Epcot, and taking our pics in all the different "countries"
4) Going to the Boardwalk
5) Go on the big rides over & over again
6) EAT! Any restaurant will do! lol Our fave is Boma though @ AKL.

We've been going to WDW our whole lives though, and we are disney freaks, so we also really enjoy the more 'kiddish' side of WDW, we still love to get our pics taken with characters and go on the rides in fantasyland

I bet your DDs will have a great time!! It's not hard to have fun in WDW!

Definitely let them go to DTD and shop. There are other stores besides Disney stores too. Like there's a store that sells Roxy brand clothing, a music/book store, lots of variety.

They'll find something they'll like at the water parks. If they're adventerous, there's plenty of slides to keep them occupied.

And the same thing with the parks. There are plenty of thrilling rides if they're into that. I'm sure they'll get swept up in the magic of Disney too. They'll have a good time.

Maybe you get let them go off on their own too. They'll love that. Me and my friends went down (we were 16 at the time too) and it was a lot of fun when we went off by ourselves while my parents watched a parade or saw a show.

I love Sci Fi Dine In theatre, that was great. The Crystal Palace Character Breakfast was fun, and the food was good! As for rides, thrill rides always work best. Others than thrills, the dark rides would work too. They probably won't like TTA or COP.

Downtown Disney is a must!
Some restaurants I really like eating at is Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe - it has a cute theme, and great,cheap,quick food.
I also love eating at the Lotus Blossom in EPCOT in China. It's so yummy, if you like chinese food.

I agree with Jaimie, ask your daughters what they are most interested in and see if you an find a restuarant that suits it.

I've never been to a water park, but TL looks like fun if their into more peaceful, relaxing stuff and BB if they wanna be active.

Go to Downtown Disney for sure, you can easily spend a day there if youre a slow shopper, The Virgin Record shop there is the absoloute best, runs good sales sometimes too. Then there is Disney Quest (in Downtown) if they like gaming of any kind.

Of course Epcot had the best food (the best is the Nine Dragons in "China" but it's closed for refurbeshment) but the Earl of Sandwitch and Wolfgang Puck are the best resturants in Downtown.

if you trust them to let them go off on their own in the park they will be fine, but if with family will probly act it up and sound annoyed
