I just found out online that a mom of 69 dies after having twins! Now the twins are orphaned!:sad2: The fertility center now thinks that there is going to be a new law that has a maxuim age limit to have kids. What is your opinions and what age do you think that adults should stop having kids at?? Start posting!!:) Summar

I will be done having kids probably in my early 30's, or atleast I hope. lol

thts sad...i think it should stop anywhere from 40-45

Yeah I want to see a link too.
But I think 40. By that time, your eggs are honestly soooo old there's so many things that could go wrong! It could lead to deformaties, death, mental disorders, etc. It's just such a risk that really should be taken for the sake of the woman and the babies.

i think that being 60 is to old to have kids, but i don't agree that there should be a law about it.
if a woman does get pregnant, will she automatically have to abort the pregnancy?
i don't know.
i don't really plan on having kids, but still.

there already is a max age to have kids. its called menopause.

i'm disgusted by anyone that would allow a 66 year old woman to give birth. its selfish, its cruel, and now they're having to deal with the consequences.

Shelby, I agree with this post entirely.

wouldn't the law only apply to ivf? 60-yr-olds are usually menopausal anyway.

i dont understand why people want to be parents when they are old enough to be grandparents. its extremely selfish

...oops. sorry if i offended you.

i guess i should clarify. if you're too old to have kids naturally, you shouldn't try other options.

u didnt .... i just wanted to share tht creeppy random fact xD

A LAW preventing people from having children at a certain age?

The government should not have the POWER to have a say in personal matters such as that.

I am not a teen but seen your post so I am going to give you "my two cents worth"! :goodvibes

Actually, the twins were about 2 & 1/2... she had them at age 66. She lied to the fertility center and said she was 55, the doctor said he would not have treated her had he known her true age. It is sad, she is a single mother... the kids are now orphans and are living with their uncle (her brother).

I had fertility issues and we were blessed with a miraculous only child. I am now in my 40's and would not dream of having a child now, even though we do now have some fertility coverage with our insurance. At my age I would be 60+ at their high school graduation. Chances are I would never live to see that child's children so those grandchildren would not know their grandparents, nor would we be blessed with knowing them. I know there are people in their 40's (celebrities ecspecially) having children all of the time, but for me... no way! I knew that if another pregnancy had not occured for me by age 40 I was done trying or dreaming!

I am sure there will be differing opinions big time on this. I for one do not think medical intervention should be allowed to occur past age 49 if that, and never past menopause. This is only my thoughts however, many people will differ! Some people are blessed with "surprise babies" later in life and that is awesome, but I wouldn't want intervention to occur to have a baby that late.

Now having said all of that, with any age, ecspecially in the case of a single parent (mother) raising that child, they can become orphaned... I understand that. Giving birth while young is no guarantee you will live to see them raised, however giving birth at age 30 versus doing so at age 60 for example... the chances are much higher the 30 year old will live to raise their child!

I do feel very sad for the two little boys without their momma, poor little guys. :sad1:

Not necessarily. Women in my family have a history of menstrual issues, like cramps that make you faint, cysts, early menopause. One of my aunts went through menopause at 26! Everyone's different, and her case definitely was a rarity, but still.

And, the woman was Spanish, but she went to an IVF center in Los Angeles where she told them she was 55, the maximum age, even though she was 65/66. THAT is the problem. I think the maximum age of 55 is way too old to begin with, 45 would be better.
